Marcelino Sambe is beyond incredible in this. For a classical ballet dancer to dance in this street style is amazing. I couldn't believe it. And it is a very beautiful and beautifully conceived film short. The eerie, nocturnal atmosphere is fully imagined. But there is one major thing wrong with this work. The camera cuts off Sambe's bottom half for much of the video! Halt! Fancy, non-ballet camera persons do this all the time! So Attention fancy, non-ballet camera people: Cease and Desist! DO NOT cut off the dancers body!!!!! That's Dance Filmimg 101. It takes away from the work. You can achieve every effect you want to without cutting off the dancers legs. Sambe is incredible.
Marce dazzles as always. Thank you ROH for showing us that there is a light at the end of this awful tunnel and that we WILL see great artists in person again soon :)
Absolutely STUNNING!! 😍😍😍😍😍 I love to see the individual dancers shine like this as well as watching the company together! Truly inspired choreography...Wow....🤩🥰 Bravo!! 💐👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💐
Wow, Marcelino Sambe really is phenomenal! What a dancer!! And choreographer too! Perfect fit for this street version of the Red Shoes. Love it ❤️ Bravo!
Like the play off of red shoes - it’s pretty spot on and even red shoes is hard to dance with actual “feeling” as well so I feel for you in this fast pace chore that doesn’t have room really for it. And dancing like that in sneakers is tough already. Frikkin awesome camera work may I add!
I'm quite astonished and impressed by Marcelino's style of dancing here. The background, after the rain, is hauntingly beautiful. He shows versatility in the way he dances.
This was absolutely incredible and so inspiring! Thank you to everyone involved, for creating such a phenomenal piece of art! I loved every part of it.
Sensational. He is a marvelous dancer. I am sure it took a lot of hard work and sacrifice to be dedicated to something that you love and it shows...Thank you for sharing
Very Beautiful and mesmerizing short dance story. Gives new meaning to walking in someone else's shoes, but dancing instead. The way he moves his entire body, everything has purpose and meaning, I literally see the love for Ballet. 👍❤️
Marcelino is incredible! I hope to see more of him in broadcasts coming this season, I loved him in La Fille Mal Gardee in the first gala broadcast last year :)
Indeed! We need to see the dance---the full body---not torsos. Way too many filmers are doing this. You get no sense of the choreography---in this instance, just a lot of shots of his pecs---no sense of the whole. I stopped watching.
Well done. Loved the dancing, choreography, setting and camera. If I have one little critique, you see the shoes and give the impression of being homeless. Take off your old ones, put on the new and they are magical. All wonderful. Then suddenly its too much for you remove them and walk away. After getting them off I felt their should have been some kind of emotion, fear, exhaustion or both. Shoes off let us feel your situation then leave. Only my thought on this, but we'll done its a beautiful little piece ❤️
To whoever filmed or directed this .... this magnificent dancer needs full screen filming not head or top torso shots. I found it annoying not being able to see the whole movement.

I love this man’s extraordinary talent. Its wonderful seeing how he’s evolving as he matures in the dance world. Is there a little Sergei Polunin spirit hiding there?
He can dance just about everything.Such a versatile danseur.
Ikrrrrrr

I wondered whether there might have been something flat placed under him for the pirouettes, kept out of camera view.
@@jmer9126 I wondered the same thing! Otherwise you would really do nasty things to your knees and ankles!
I was hoping someone would point this out. 😉
That is not street style , it's contemporary , the fact that he dances on the street doesn't mean its street dance
You can even say it's neoclassical since it doesn't stray too much from classical technique
What a talented young man. He exudes joy in any type of dance. Marcelino shines with wonderful energy, strength and grace.
I was really concerned he would hurt himself but what a passion filled dancer, every move has his joy of movement written all over it
Marce dazzles as always. Thank you ROH for showing us that there is a light at the end of this awful tunnel and that we WILL see great artists in person again soon :)
Incredible. The hard work and discipline it must have taken him to get to this level. Utterly amazing.
When the body speaks , amazing!

My immediate thought was RED SHOES !!! Cool contemporary take. He's wonderful.
Wow, Marcelino Sambe really is phenomenal! What a dancer!! And choreographer too! Perfect fit for this street version of the Red Shoes. Love it ❤️ Bravo!
The beginning gives me "the red shoes" vibes: but now the white shoes
Você sempre sai bem.

Me too.
He's such a crazy good dancer. Always an inspiration and joy to watch.
Just wow🤩! Beautiful choreography, beautiful editing but above all a beautiful dancer!
He's an incredible dancer. Saw him dancing with Francesca Hayward in Manon recently, and both were SUPERB.
Marcelino is fantastic! Always wonderful to see him featured, he’s a bright star.
WHen there are too many close ups, you can't see the dance! One needs to see the whole body move through space.
Fabulous Marcelino.
So proud kiss from portugal🇵🇹❤️
Que orgulho beijinhos de portugal🇵🇹❤️
We know he can do this in any shoes!! Bravo! This is the true ‘magic’ that comes from being gifted, hard-working, committed and passionate!
Bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's some strength to execute that level of those moves on road! Thank you for your hard work!!!
This is the best recommendation ever by youtube :-) I never heard of him before..

I was sort of hoping the shoes left in the street would turn to watch him leaving...
Marcelino is incredible! No words to describe him but WOW!

Damn if it's not talent, idk what it is ! 👍👏👌
Extraordinary professional dancer !!! At the end I expected the dance shoes to take back their place while waiting for someone else.

Pure magic.
THIS VIDEO IS EVERYTHING!!!
is this really ballet movements? i have never seen ballet movements like this ..awesome and attractive... fantastic job done .. wow
I wish the filming hadn’t cut off so much of his dancing. Such a shame to miss so much due to poor editing.

brilliant. amazing. such a pleasure to come upon this!

I was searching for this comment. I wanted to see him dance, not parts of him coming in and out frame.

Very cool performance
Simply divine... wonderful!
👣👟👣→👣👟👣→👣👟👣→👣👟👣→...Hans Christian Andersen's “The Red Shoes" & it's so beautifully done!
I love watching him dance
Would have been nicer to have more full body shots
Cameraman doesn’t seem to think it’s important for us to see his legwork.

Very impressive choreography with the visual emphasis on bottom up impetus. Bravo Marcelino.
That was amazing!! 🤩👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Marcelino Sambé 🥰🥰🥰 Maravilhoso!!!
That was absolutely brilliant.
Bravo! I would have kept The White Shoes on and spun out to Space...because...Space is the Place.
Amazing.
I don't like the way this was shot. I want to see his feet, when he's dancing, not medium torso shots.
Thank you. My thoughts exactly!!
Wow!!!🙌🤩👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🔥
Fabulous! 😲😃👏👏👏
Love him!
Fantastic ❤️
BRAVO!!

With new blood like this you never know ballet might actually start to attract to a new audience (from an early ballet adopter BTW)
More Marcelino please
