Have p938, FMJ shoots well with no jamming , but JHP always jams. Sent to sig and they replaced mag and polished feed ramp. Taking to range this weekend to see if issue got resolved.
You look like you are using lighter than 115 grain ammo in the 938. From my experience with the 938 and the Kahr. They have extremely stiff springs which give you light recoil, but you need at least 125 grain standard pressure ammo to make it 100%. Which is fine, since the 125 grain HSTs are my round of choice. Also I find the more exotic ammo in terms of shape like I see here tends to be more problematic.
@@mikebyerly2344 it took care of the ejection issues. It can fire in rapid succession now without any issues, but I was told by sig it's part of the design that a bullet falls with the magazine. It's not intentionally that way, but by design they said there's no way to stop it. I guess as a round is chambered the next round is "prepared" so the prepared round is the one that falls out.
That's an issue with single stack mags in small pistols... (the issue with the round coming out when you drop the mag). I have carried a 938 for years now, no issue. As far as it jamming, I've never had that issue; but I run 124gr +P speer gold dots. It may be an issue with running 115gr or lighter loads. Comparing the 938 to a 365 also doesn't really make much sense.
I have had a p938 for about 5 years, only issue I had was at first my thumb would press the mag release when it would recoil and once in awhile the mag would pop loose. Once I realized what was happening I adj. my grip and no problem. When releasing mag. I do notice the top round is slightly forward but I have never had it fall out. I have never had a jam or fail to feed, after making a correct grip reflex, I have had no issues. This is the only small gun I have ever shot well, and it is really fun to shoot, it's what I carry when I do.
The top round in the mag is drawn forward by the preceding round feeding into the chamber. I have not had a live round fall out with the mag, but the top round is always well forward of being completely seated in the mag, on the extremely rare occasions that a partial mag is removed from the gun. It has never caused a functional issue in 4,000 rounds. "Jamming up" is another issue, and should be fixed.
I found out that the grip has a lot to do with the P938. Holding it high could easy push the lock. So hold it tight and do not let the thumbs push the lock in during recoil.
I’ve got the same exact pistol, even same color, grips everything, mine doesn’t do that. Mines been flawless. Only thing that’s weird is you really have to smack the mags to get them locked in.
That issue has happened to me with my 938 Legion. Sometimes I couldn't chamber a round it locked the slide. I had to yank the magazine out. I resolved it by buying a different magazine. Never had a jam though.
I had my 938 for close to a year with about 700 rounds on paper, I have never experienced a casing getting hung up, but I know what you mean about the round falling out. I Like my Sig because she accurate, small, and all metal.
I just got this gun today and had this same problem with the chambered round falling out. I also had issues with the bullet getting stuck on the slide while it was closing, causing the slide to not close all the way (stuck on the bullet) i noticed this happened the most when i tried to have one in the chamber with the full mag. So frustrating spending so much to have these issues.
Yes I have one as well and because of the size the feed ramp is short so when you take out the mag sometimes a bullet falls out, mine however does not jam at all.
Updating, they replaced extractor and spring and everything is solved other than the bullet still dropping, told thats how its designed, not intentionally, but cant fix it.
The magazine's are lousy. The lips at the top of the mag have a slightly uneven spread and the top bullet moves around. I pinch the top with channel locks to improve the grip on the top bullet.
I've go this exact model and had a friend and new gun owner, purchase one in a different color. Mine: 1,500+ rounds mainly FMJs 115 grain 1. Initially I had feed failure and sent it in. Upon return I never had that issue. 2. I hate the extra bullet falling out every time the mag is ejected, but now it's what I expect though sometimes I am happily surprised when it is only partially out of the mag. 3. The hammer lifts the slide and causes some damage to the barrel and underneath the slide as shown in ruclips.net/video/o2ln0RrqF8w/видео.html 4. Only jams were due to poor ammo and user error. Friends: 400 rounds mainly FMJs 115 grain 1. no failure to feed issue. 2. Have not noticed a loose bullet. 3. Has the same issue. 4. New problem, the barrel gets stuck easily and blocks the slide assembly from being put in. Takes a lot of pressure to fix the misalignment. Currently talking to Sig about sending it in.
I had similar issues with it dropping the round, sometimes the last round would get the bullet jammed in and stove pipe instead of being chambered. I sent it in for warranty and it hasn't done it since even though they said they didn't find any issue and returned it. It looks like after cycling the next bullet will always hang out of the magazine still, and will always drop when you drop the mag.
I’ve experienced the same issues… very disappointing as I like Sig’s. Also jams when chambering a round. Would not recommend. And yes I’m using sig magazines.
Hi, Maybe you could help out on my issue. When I press the Mag release button, the empty mags don’t fall out. I have to yank them out with decent force under friction. I never had your problem. I’ve had the pistol for about 6 years. Thank you
I’ve been reading a lot about the top Bullet dropping out when the mag is released. I’m looking at these videos for answers because my brand new P938 SAS does this exact thing. I chamber then drop the mag to slip in one more...top bullet comes flopping out. Is there a fix or something I just have to accept?
ive been told it cant be fixed its part of the design. i did send it to SIG and they warrantied the extractor and spring and fixed most of the issues other than the round falling out of the mag well.
Why would you load it that way?...magazine in first and then load one from the chamber and then drop the magazine and load one more in the magazine?...what?...with the magazine removed you would slide back and lock in place and chamber a round and release the lock and insert the magazine and that’s it...6+1...seems as though you’re doing to much work for 6+1.
Hi there. I have owned both those sigs. I never had a single malfunction. If you're having that problem with both guns, I'd try a firmer grip. If you hold it lightly, it doesn't get the proper slide cyclling. That stove piping is a common result of limp wristing. It's worth a try
First of all, hold your camera in the proper perspective, landscape!! Secondly, google any model of any firearm and you will see a few people with issues. You are one of the few. I have the P238 and the P938 Equinox and both have fired flawlessly with over 700 rounds each. You praise the 365 which you admittedly stated that you have not fired yet, great objective review, NOT! Plus one is striker fired and the other a 1911 manual of arms. You are definitely inexperienced in fire arms, maybe some of your problems are operator error. Just saying.
They replaced extractor and spring, both were faulty. bullet still drops with mag release, was told its designed that way, not intentionally, but no way to fix it. many others report the same issue and all told nothing can be fixed, so thats just the way it is.

it was an extractor and spring malfunction, replaced under warranty.

@swordmaster004 Sig Sauer mags. I bought new ones for that model.
They also have MAGUTS to give you another round and maybe a little looser spring.
