ANY cake mix will work without eggs, it was a marketing idea to add eggs when the instant cake mix was popularized after ww2 to give the illusion of homemade.
I can't have peanut butter chips and I wouldn't want to add chocolate chips on top but I would add white chocolate chips or Heath Bar toffee bits! Yum, yum!

That was what I was taught at my first job at our local dairy queen! Actually it was hot coffee to thin the hot fudge!!! Really made the fudge soooo. Much more flavorble. Yum.

This was the first time I made this recipe so I didn't have a regular milk cake comparison. One thing I have noticed is that evaporated milk does not have that unique flavor that it had years ago. We would always use it in hot tea and homemade ice cream and other things and it always added a unmistakable taste. I find that it doesn't quite have that anymore. In a couple of days I am going to make it again using 'half and half' and peanut butter chips!

Hi! The coffee is instant. 1 teaspoon is good, 2 if you really love coffee. I could see mixing it in a bowl, too...but then some people might say this isn't a "dump" cake. The fact that I'm mixing means some might not call it a dump cake, anyway, so it's complicated haha I think it could work with coconut milk, too, and with or without chocolate chip. That's a good question. I thought about doing that, but I think that, as with other cake recipes, mixing / agitating the ingredients together is necessary if you want a fluffy, cake-like texture. However, if you try this by just layering in the ingredients, let me know how it turns out 🍫🍫

It's like cake-brownie! And since it is baked, scramble an egg into the milk to add the egg. I would also DEFINITELY NOT use powder milk but REAL milk or even half milk and half heavy cream. I think you'll like it much better!😊 that powder milk to me is a cry of desperation 😭😢

The coffee you add is it instant or just coffee grounds ? Makes more sense to mix in a separate bowl then pour into pan, i think i'd use coconut milk. No choc. chips at all. Where's the written recipe ?

The coffee is instant. 1 teaspoon is good, 2 if you really love coffee.
I could see mixing it in a bowl, too...but then some people might say this isn't a "dump" cake. The fact that I'm mixing means some might not call it a dump cake, anyway, so it's complicated haha

I made it my family loved it. However, I made it in my mixer. You’re mixing in the pan looks like too much trouble. It’s very easy to put the bowl in the dishwasher. Thank you for the recipe.❤

What would happen if you just layered and bake
That's a good question. I thought about doing that, but I think that, as with other cake recipes, mixing / agitating the ingredients together is necessary if you want a fluffy, cake-like texture. However, if you try this by just layering in the ingredients, let me know how it turns out 🍫🍫

If you want something like a cobbler, with distinct filling and topping layers, then yes--but if you want a fluffy cake, I think the ingredients need to be mixed together, or else they might not combine.

Boy, there's nothing like damning with faint praise is there. Why'd you go to all the trouble to make the cake if you don't like it? It looked pretty good to me.
I've had a recipe like this for many years. I put it in a bar pan and have bars.

Dump cakes can definitely be good. I usually like their crispy, crunchy crumble and fruit filling. This one doesn't have any of those, so it's a bit different. But if you're looking for a quick and easy chocolate cake made without eggs, I think it's a good option.

No, no eggs. I personally prefer cakes made with eggs, but this was still good. Vanilla ice cream would be great with this--I used whipped cream. 👨🍳😀

It's like cake-brownie! And since it is baked, scramble an egg into the milk to add the egg. I would also DEFINITELY NOT use powder milk but REAL milk or even half milk and half heavy cream. I think you'll like it much better!😊 that powder milk to me is a cry of desperation 😭😢
