    I just had to key the crank on my 05 manual with an ls2, no boost I just kept dropping the balancer over 150mph.

    I think you are probably right about the boost. A keyed crank is usually done for a supercharger. The 8-rib pulley may not mean anything by itself...if it's ATI, the one they make for the C6 is 8-rib...I have one on mine.
