    ... the companies whose brands are used in these contaminated packaged food items - why are they silent? That's mind boggling indeed. The agenda is bigger than what meets the eye. Can we hear from these companies? I mean companies pay a fortune for branding and for someone to take that brand logo and use it...worse for food poisoning...that must keep those companies wide awake. If the silence continues.. aren't they scared.this may invoke general boycotts of their products ?? JJ can you please touch base on this matter..Thank you

    It explains why African countries don't attract investment from abroad. Who in their right mind is going to just give over part of the business to someone who put nothing in. If you want inclusivity and BEE partnerships or whatever system African countries have you expect people to buy those shares, not just get it for nothing. Who benefits from these systems the poor or the well connected to the political class. People at the bottom are the ones missing out on job opportunities because politicians and their connected want partnerships in businesses other people worked for. Would it not be better for a foreign company to hire say 5oo unemployed people than give shares to a few politicians or there preferred business friends. No wonder Asia, South America and the middle east are more attractive investment markets and Africa is left out in the cold with millions of jobless people. Inequality needs to be tackled from the bottom up, not from the top down. The more you take the poor out of poverty you narrow inequality, not this nonsense from African leaders that enrich a few at the top whilst the majority remain poor. That actually increases inequality.

    • @revolution475
      @revolution475 12 дней назад +1

      Business understand share schemes, where it's cash, technology transfer, skills, or infrastructure. They know very well how to follow state policy.
      Asian countries are a good example. They did not just accept investment, they marketed themselves as investment destinations, created incentive schemes and a conducive environment for businesses to thrive, through clear policies, in exchange for shares, technology and skills. And of course those businesses that did not follow the laws got punished serverly, including the state officials they colluded with.
      It is clear that for growing economies countries cannot just let businesses to set up shop and do as they wish, otherwise this will result in exploitation of resources and labour, and high levels inequality.
      Unfortunately most African countries allow abuse and exploitation. South Africa is much much better.
