In Bendis’ case, the deal was brokered by Diane Nelson who allegedly had no idea how badly Bendis’ sales had faltered.
This time around, DC is run by Marie Javins who came up at Marvel the same time Slott did so she knows exactly what he’s like so what’s her excuse?

Also, Lex is going to try and bang Lois, and it is going to be weird and be a gray area of "is it consent or not?" but we're going to move past that and act like that didn't happen. It's a lot easier to have a magical/spiritual conspiracy that Superman has to fight. He beats the lower levels of it but the major plot is still happening behind the scene. It could even be a group doing bad for a good cause such as keeping a cosmic horror from entering our reality. You'd have to give a reason why the major occult heroes of DC are not involved, but it's better than having a ton of radioactive rock being spread around the world.

Fantastic advertisement, to stop reading modern comics. I did, well over a decade ago. Because I love the medium, I occasionally look at the news, and hope to see something encouraging, not words like "shakeup" or "bold, new direction". Something along the lines of complete reboot, or cleaning house, but it keeps being the former.
It was years ago, people said that comics needed more new talent. Fair enough, and independent books are boasting that, but DC and Marvel are all about who knows who. New talent can't make waves because writers clearly not worth a fraction of their pay never leave. Slott should've been gone, and DC should've never called him back. Clowns like Bendis and everyone that helped kill the biggest icons in all of comics shouldn't be allowed back in. It's not even a joke at this point. You truly fail upward, if you're in with that crowd. Imagine being the person that coordinates the staff.
"Let's see... You drove off fans, in large numbers, made several characters unusable, left a legacy of low sales and failure... Welp, you're hired!"
That applies to several people. Slott is just the latest. And it's a trend. Ruin things at Marvel, then jump to DC to ruin their books, too. Side story or not, he never should be allowed to write anything, especially Superman. He's been butchered enough.

Idk. It’s not the main title so it’s not like he can make huge changes to the character that will affect everything going forward. Seems more like he’ll have to work within the confines of what Williamson is doing, which I’ve loved. I’ve also not really read anything from Slott, read some of his ASM, but I wasn’t over one more day at the time so didn’t get far.

While I enjoyed his Spider-Man, his Iron Man and FF were not good, so it makes me a bit afraid of what he'll do. Brian Bendis's stink still lingers on Super-family. I also seem to recall that there already was a story involving a giant kryptonite asteroid.

I don't think that Slott is that bad of a writer. He tries different things, he works hard on trying to give us new takes on existing villains, and he creates new characters. It's kinda of fresh take Superman needs. Of course he needs an editor to be on top of him to make sure he working and we get the best out of him too.
But I agree, more kryptonite just sounds lazy. Have less kryptonite and let's see who are the real DC power players who actually have some.

If Intergang was mining Kryptonite off world and using it as a way to become big power players again by bringing it slow. So they could eventually be stopped. And had some secret big bad as the leader I might get it. But all that kryptonite on earth is stupid and completely fucks a lot of future writers in my opinion

Dan Slott is too lazy to last long at DC. Looking at that cover, I see DC is already changing Krypto's breed to look more like James Gunn's dog that he inserted into the upcoming movie (like his brother that he inserts into everything).
