Gaius Claudius Glaber is dead. The rebellion has swelled to thousands of freed slaves, and Spartacus, alongside his generals Crixus, Gannicus and Agron, prepares for war with Rome.
The Roman Senate turns to Marcus Crassus, a wealthy, strategic politician, for aid. With a young Julius Caesar as an ally, Crassus must crush the rebellion.
The epic conclusion of a legendary journey, "Spartacus: War of the Damned" unleashes a battle unlike anything ever seen before.

Crassus, the only roman character you get to at least respect in all the series. Would be nice if they moved on with him and created another series about Caesar and Crassus rising to power.
they do lol. it's called rome lol
Orbis Dux That's just for Caesar. And it's only in Season 1. We don't get to see Crassus rise to power or Caesar's Campaigns in Gaul. Also you replied to a comment that is 5 years old lol
Orbis Dux but one where the fight scenes are complete ass
I respected him than lost it all when he nailed that slave girl to starve in the ending, apparently even the fact that she was being blackmailed by his son was not enough.
@@thatcoffeefeel8 Yeah but she killed his son though. Anyone would have done the same. He would have looked weak if he had not have her killed.
I was rooting for the romans this season. They were awesome.
Crassus "the most intelligent keen mind"
Too bad this show stopped before the second triumvirate and Carrhae
He was smart tho he made big bucks in rome he just wasn’t the best military mind there was
To be fair, the battle of Carrhae happened about 20 years after the events of the series. If Crassus was as smart as he was in real life (which he probably was considering he managed to become the richest man EVER), 20 years is a lot of time for someone's "most intelligent keen mind" to go dull. I read somewhere that speculates he's most likely experiencing early signs of dementia by the time he waged war in Carrhae, but who knows.
Crassus was somewhat goaded into going to battle with the Parthians by Caesar, but it was also necessitated for his own glory to be able to match Caesar's. The problem was that the Parthian military was the direct counter to the Roman way of waging war. No one really figured out how to defeat mobile horse archer formations until hundreds of years later, which is why Attila the Hun was so successful roughly 500 years after these events.
Crassus was so much more interesting than the other Roman characters, with the exception of batiatus. He was ruthless and cunning, but he had a deep sense of honor.
Tiberius and Caesar = The new Lucretia and Illythia
🤣🤣🤣
Please Starz don't throw everything that was built with Spartacus away because said story is over. There is a lot to still be told about the Romans, and I really enjoyed the Rome that was created.
Julius Ceaser wasn't an emperor he was a dictator. The first emperor was Octavian Ceaser.
I just luv Crassus
Spartacus was a bravo series...
All of them.
Simon merrells was my neighbour for a time..
Lovely guy
1:04 looks like Donar gets captured.
Yeah, the kid we see in the first few episodes is the one that dies in Parthia. However, Crassus still had another younger son who remained in Rome and took over the house after his death.
another fun tidbit, one of Crassus' generals in the Parthain campaign happens to also be one of the conspirators in Caesar's assassination.
i am a loyal spartacus supporter as if I was in the show...he will not fall. he did not in real life...crixus fell because he left spartacus out of jealous...and gannicus lives!
so exciting!:)
"You are not in my sigth Gaius. You serve beneath me."
Yeah I agree with you. Liam is almost just there while the great story and direction carries the series. He is no Andy Whitfield IMO, who brought a certain charm to the character that Liam hasn't been able to match.
Agreed, if he could see them now, Oenomaus would be ashamed.
"Is this not enough? How many more must die?"
Marcus Crassus did indeed have a son. He fought with Caesar very ably during the Gallic Wars and was one of Caesar's favorites. He died at Carrhae with Crassus.
the day almost arrived and I can't wait
While in the series: Crassus has been training with an expert gladiator who was champion several times, while Caesar is a veteran of many battles, with a skill that (as it is written in the starz site) can rival that of a gladiator.
At 0:27 is not Gannicus. It is someone Crassus is training with. that clip has been out for awhile in the first trailer.
Yes he did, the little kid in episode one "Publius" existed in history and died with Crassus at the Battle of Cahrae.
I think we finally have an interesting Roman storyline once again.
at the end it sounded like one of the songs of the blood and sand soundtrack hope they use the same soundtrack for this final season to illustrate the epicness of the scenes cant wait for war of the damned
Crassus was one of the finest politicians and leader of the whole long rome history. And no jokes, the alley with Caesar and after with Pompeo really reshaped the 200 yrs history after him.
Yeah but in Carre's Battle
He Lost without Honor 🥲
The way this show portrays so many historical figures is just plain wrong but it's still a great show.
I've really only started watching the Spartacus series because of Caesar and Crassus.
I hope it's a set up for him to do something big in the next couple episodes. Looks like in the next episode he wants to bargain with Spartacus to kill Tiberius. That would definitely bump him up a bit.
Agreed! We are two episodes into the series and I'm already rooting for the Romans! Crassus and Caesar are so badass! I do miss Andy Whitfield and Crixus is no longer a prominent character. Only Gannicus still inspires me on the rebels' side.
What are you talking about? Caesar is awesome in this series! I know I'd willingly watch a spin-off series about his conquest of Gaulia, his forming of the Triumvirate with Crassus and Pompey, his rise to absolute power and his eventual demise at the hands of his own.
What? .. Crassus had both military skills and political skills and he had been a follower of Silla (that has never lost a battle), was not at all alien to the war. And was also a senator
they might do a spin off continuing the story of Caesar and Marcus Crassus. CRASSUS FTW!
I hope they do the iconic part where Spartacus captures 300 Romans and has them fight like gladiators. That would be awesome!
10 years late but yes it did happen!
@@Toguro45 I know.
@@KingNazaru That was oddly fast lmao, didn't even expect a reply for a few months
@@Toguro45 Why would you expect that?
donar is so badass, dont jinx his awesomness
Agreed, and pretty much what I meant. Three of the single most interesting men in the history of the world (Crassus, whose ability, with interest, may have made him the richest person in ever, Pompey, whose life and death so symbolized the greatness and stagnation of the Roman Republic, and Ceasar, whose miraculous success so thoroughly set the foundation of the future) all alive and together during the same period. These guys make Spartacus look like a two-bit chump.
the problem is that it seems to go both ways you assume to know Spartacus as villain and others assume him to be a hero, but there's really no evidence in history to suggest either, it was just one of three slave rebellions, for any of us to assume we know exactly what happened back then without further study is foolishness, especially when trying to surmise the motives of either party. This goes for both sides of the debate.
Simple,in fact, the gladiators were not so monstrously stronger than the legionaries, in fact, both had a similar training. Anyway, they're both dead, the body of Spartacus was never found because it was struck (as historians say) so many times to be made unrecognizable.
My girlfriend asked me to come back to bed because it's late. I brushed her off with a, "Not now, honey. Someone's wrong on the Internet!"
Already love Crassus! GOGO
wow! crassus is fair and very respectful to his son, mistress and wife in that order..he is not ruthless except toward my gladiators....I stand by their side
Well Craxuss should at least be interesting. I doubt he'll top Batiatus though. He was one of the best tv villains ever.
la esperooooo ansiosamente, seguro nos dejara a todos con la boca mas q abiertaa.... amo esta serie.. al igual q roma, game of trhones y yo claudio!!!!!
The Romans will win and Spartacus gets what he deserves. That makes me happy ;)
spartacus must NOT FALL
Magnifica serie
It damn sure would have! Liam is the Christian Bale of Spartacus, 'all we need is a pretty face, let the direction and the story carry the film.'
as for how Caesar looks i dont think it really matters that much, it's about the character and the story, it's not a museum of natural history as if we should be looking at a stuffed and preserved Caesar. You seem very detail oriented.
That totally sucks that Pompey won't be in the series, it could have been one HELL of a finale. I hope this isn't the final season, and Pompey shows up as a main character in the final season.
Crassas is a badass!
First I've read just a pocket book, the name is "Julius Caesar", I don't remember the author, but is a part from a book series named "L&PM Pocket Encyclopedia", they have books to about roman empire and Alexander. And there's a direct source to Caesar, by Plutarchus, his biographer. His book about Caesar is one of the most important of his books, it's called "paralel lifes" (or at least that's how I translated from portuguese)
Anybody watched last friday's episode? MAN! this show it's getting better and better, too bad we are only a few episodes left to the epic end.
Crassus was a very good politician that played a key role in transforming the Roman Republic. I think you need to go away and read up on history.
You read what I wrote? I wrote that I had compentenze military and political, not that his skills were good ..but he was not totally lacking in these disciplines as you say, has had his experiences.
i agree 100%. He becomes a murderer with no real objective. Freedom ? Freedom by destroying one of the greatest empires that ever existed. The romans are fighting for something greater an imperium an idea of greatness and are defending this with bravery and honour. The slave rebellion represents chaos and destruction. Gannicus also questions spartacus intentions calling it mad. By the way i love the show because of its great character development and plot twists (overal great story writing).
El actor que hace el papel de Crassus en el físico se parece mucho al verdadero Julio Cesar
Exactly;) There are several statues of Ceasar and it seems S. Merrels resembles him a lot.
Pompey Magnus would have been a welcome addition instead of Tiberius. Towards the end of the Spartacus story, Pompey plays a huge role with Crassus. I hope they don't completely ignore that...
Lol, I find this Ceaser kind of looks a little like Brad Pitt.
Please, all throughout history, no one ever obtained great power and glory by being a nice person. Crassus in one among dozens of people who made great names for themselves through blood and death.
4 days left!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
spartacus vs craxus: Game on !!!!
Collapsing the Roman Republic at that time could mean no modern West now, I cannot even imagine what could have happened even. Not a pretty picture for sure.
true words.
maybe there is a possibility for him to survive as the only slave.
For another series perhaps! No drama or documentary has really done the first Triumvirate justice, which is a shame since tales such as that and others throughout history are much more epic than the majority of movie scripts.
wow bloody hell, can't wait !
well he still managed to command the right wing Under sulla at the battle of the Colline Gate in 82 BC against the marians...he won considerable note by defeating the enemy on his wing...the Carrae disaster was more because of the underestimation of the ennemy capacities and the dead of Publius his son early in the battle wich considerably affected him....
I think Pompey has to be written in somewhere. He was the one who took the credit for defeating Spartacus, sparking the rivalry between he and Crassus.
Fucking amazing! Crassus and Caesar look like they will be great characters, to make up for the loss of Andy Whitfield
vivement la suite!
Muy buena serie good movie
Well.. ur prolly right but you cant blame spartacus for wanting all those slaves to get their freedoom back.
this actor looks perfect to be crassus
Tell me, what exactly have you read about Caesar? As in what good books about him do you recommend since I'm very fond of history myself, and particularly the great conquerers.
Cant wait to see this
thanks ;)
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1:20 Look at Crassus, his eyes are teary and that means? His son has died.
1:19 Epic Thrust
I'm with you on that! :)
Come on bring it on
Nah, Crassus historically was one of the people who helped Caesar overthrow Rome. But one thing is that Crassus does get screwed by Pompey at end of the battle, so that should be shown in the show.
I'm roman ;) Un numero di minchiate cosi grande riguardo la storia di spartacus e di roma non l'avevo ancora visto..comunque serie gradevole.
I'm talking about this season...not in History, I know well that Crassus didn't have a son when the Roman Empire was still active.
ooooooh SHIT. you got him there!!
Ceasar was balding in his 40's-50's. At this point he would be in his late 20's. He also does not remain long-haired, as you might notice if you were to pay attention to the video.
Seems like Spartacus won't have it easy...
It was stupid how they killed Ashur off last season. he should have been carried over. He makes a good recurring villain.
Spartacus didn't order the deaths of the civilians. There are no perfect good guys in this series and that is what makes the series great.
Spartacus has to make the decision to leave behind and start a new life or be a total animal. Crixus is willing to kill innocent civilians for his pleasure as shown in the next episode's trailer. Gannicus doesn't give a shit. Crassus is a nice and honorable guy but completley power hungry.
Love it. Can't wait to see it.
Spartacus will send you all to the afterlife...
the guy from vengeance not the guy with the hammer the guy with the axe forgot his name he helped bring the arena down
10000 Parthian cavalry with bows wiped out 40000 romans by hit and run tactics, the roman infantry apparently had no answer as they were unable to engage the enemy at close quarters and hoped they run out of arrows(however their canny general had a camel supply train laden with a constant supply)
oo i realy like crsos now 0_o
I disagree Depending on the type of fight, it's not a question of individual skills of individual soldiers. Napoleon Bonaparte once said: "One mameluke can beat two French soldiers. A hundred mamelukes can kill a hundred and fifty French soldiers. Two hundred French soldiers has no reason to fear the same number of mamelukes." In this case, each rebel might be more powerful than a Roman soldier, but in unity, the Roman soldiers are far better trained at working together than the rebels.
you are correct but it would have been so much better with Andy
his army. his plan. his orders.
It's crazy how, like, every Roman antagonist except one so far has died...the Roman side is gonna feel a bit weird this season
Crassus gets his ass handled by the other super power of the time namely the Parthians
Is it just me, or is Gannicus the ONLY character on the rebels' side not giving Oenomaus cause to roll in his grave?
Pompey doesn't really play a role in Spartacus' story. He crushes a few remnants which fall into his lap well after the final battle. Important in the story of Crassus and Ceasar, not so much for Spartacus.
That said, wouldn't exactly be opposed to the series continuing following the first Triumvirate and the beginning of that season opening with Pompey slaughtering the remainder.
amazing!!
i think this was nearer the start of his career, so he'd be fairly young and hence more hair.
Man I hope not because of popular demand they should make it drag on for longer make more stuff and not have and end just yet.
