I think there's rarer a thing than teenagers producing such lovely music, especially when their covers capture the essence of the song so much better than many "professionals".
I've discovered this video about five years ago and I keep coming back. Easily the best, most powerful version of "Star of the County Down" on RUclips.
I would have to agree. I'm studying this piece now for classical guitar, and I've heard so many variations on many instruments, and from many bands. There are truly a lot of exceptional versions out there. Not only from Irish grown stars but from all over the world. However without any doubt in my mind I can say this particular rendition is the very best I've heard in about a year of listening to a) Every single version of it on Spotify, and a great many hours on RUclips. Without any doubt whatsoever.
What the heckins are you on about, mate? I'm a fan of nigh every version of this song I ever heard, including this one. If you drink enough whiskey....
Pure talent and a lot of hard work, I suspect. Lovely looking young people, the blonde cellist is special even in this group. Makes me wish I had taken my musical lessons more seriously in my youth.
My favourite arrangement on the Star of the County Down! The most beautiful singing and playing and the most imaginative acting! Thank you for all of you!
I like this version! Especially a sudden burst of their natural energy in 3rd minute 😁. Looks like they are really having fun with it, despite chilly weather 🎅
If you're really, really impatient (or just passing by), go to 2:50 Now (that you love it) go back to the beginning and listen to the whole thing on repeat.
Up to you folks, but if you want to hear the tune "Star of the County Down" I recommend you skip to 2:54. And kids, I will say that you do an exceptional job on it after that. I've just never been the kind who likes a 3 minute intro. :)
I agree entirely with your comment RikkiO. I tried to do the same as you by telling people to start at the 2.54 mark but couldn't figure out how to do it.
@@bohma7519 You have to put a colon between the 2 and the 54 instead of a period. Works with any time you want to mark on a vid. And thanks for the comment.
Where did you guys go! Please come back!
the cellist is stunning
I'm listening to it on repeat for two days now. I can't get enough. It's simply awesome!
#metoo ;-)
Same here.

I don't see a bunch of kids I just see brilliant musicians. They're as good or better than most other folk. More songs please
Bravo! Your version of The Star of the County Down is particularly awesome!
2:50 Star in the Country Down

Super!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the violin starts out with the Swallowtail Jig until about 2:47, then goes into Star of the county down.
This is an absolute fantastic rendition, and is that a bit of the Swallowtail Jig in the beginning? Amazing work ❤
I have an Irish friend and he sometimes sings this song
Excellent!
Amazing!! Congratulations!!
