Just returned from my first trip to India. Flew into Chennai with mates and rented seven Royal Enfields, all different models. Travelled 1400 kms ...so many good memories. Take care, go with the flow and use your horns. 🙏🙏
The choice of motorcycle is right. There are two things you'll need to make it more 'adventure friendly' in India. ❶ Add a pair of powerful auxiliary lights. I use Maddog Scout X with fitted harness and switch for night rides. These will need to be 'covered up' within city limits to avoid getting pulled over by the police - Maddog also sells those covers. ❷ Convert the rims to tubeless. You get punctures much more often on Indian roads, so a tubeless conversion kit saves a lot of headaches.
I agree. Specially in Indian traffic. Don't look back. One rule for Indian roads - if you are driving in your lane/straight without deviating, people will find their space to pass you. You need to be careful of people in front of you. Mostly in crashes here, people who hit from behind is blamed.
From someone who just stumbled upon your video and who learnt to ride a bike just a few months ago, at the age of 37 .. I have so much admiration for your passion and wish you a great journey here in India. And remember, in most countries you drive on the left, in India you drive on whatever’s left. Pun intended. While riding bike on the roads keep on the left side, the right lane is used for fast moving vehicles and left lane is used by slow moving vehicles including buses. On a red light traffic signal, watch carefully since people tend to jump the red light from all sides. You will find enough repair shops during your travel if the need arises. You will soon get used to riding on Indian roads. People will go out of their way to help and support. On highways, bikes are allowed but on Expressway 2 wheelers are not allowed. Check the Google route accordingly. No toll is to be paid on Highways for bikes and exit from the extreme left lane which is meant for 2 wheelers. India is extreme fun, enjoy your travel. 🙏😊
I always liked the enthusiasm of foreigners, when they first landed in India. All the smiles, the happiness of how helpful everyone is and all the excitement about the food, the sounds, the scenery, the lovely mystic land, that is so enchanting. But wait until they get robbed ................. then all hell breaks loose ! Happy riding ✌
Glad to see you went for the lighter bikes which are all you need for the riding on such manic roads. Your riding is fine Lavi you have proved that since passing your test with the riding you have done since. All the best John & Penny ' Old and Alive riders '.😊✌🏍
Wishing you both good luck on this journey. Ride safe and carefully. Just a few things to note: 1. Avoid night rides, especially sketchy places and roads. 2. Be very aware of the traffic, there are some crazy drivers and riders here in India. 3. You might get pulled over by the cops frequently and while crossing borders, keep the papers and registration handy 4. Use your mirrors. Bon Voyage!❤
@9:10 "Nobody wants to crash into you. Everybody wants to avoid everybody else." Exactly opposite of what a DTC (bus) driver said at retirement interview, having zero accident in his entire service career. One advice I want to give you is that never camp in isolated areas, otherwise it can get dangerous.Camp only at authorised camping sites or just book a hotel or homestay, it is safer. And do carry a pepper spray or a knife just in case. And do visit the northeast of India.

Hopefully that won’t happen to us 🇮🇳😍❤️
welcome to India....wish you both a happy trip...keep your reflex-es on all the time, at a super high...
Will do ☺️
One of my favorite channels right now !! Looks so fun.. would love to do this with my gf one day when I get one..lol
Awesome! Thank you so much ❤️🇮🇳
Glad to see you went for the lighter bikes which are all you need for the riding on such manic roads. Your riding is fine Lavi you have proved that since passing your test with the riding you have done since. All the best John & Penny ' Old and Alive riders '.😊✌🏍
Yes we’re so happy with these bikes 😍
Wishing you both good luck on this journey. Ride safe and carefully.
Just a few things to note:
1. Avoid night rides, especially sketchy places and roads.
2. Be very aware of the traffic, there are some crazy drivers and riders here in India.
3. You might get pulled over by the cops frequently and while crossing borders, keep the papers and registration handy
4. Use your mirrors.
Bon Voyage!❤
Lavi is the bravest to jump into this....but she has the best road captain. Prayers for safety...and fun!
🙏🇮🇳❤️
@9:10 "Nobody wants to crash into you. Everybody wants to avoid everybody else."
Exactly opposite of what a DTC (bus) driver said at retirement interview, having zero accident in his entire service career. "When I step out in the morning, I would tell myself, Except for me, everyone is mad. Whoever is to be saved has to be saved by me. (They don't care for their own lives)."
😮
wow thank god for helmut intercoms so useful in a busy riding environment 😮
Yes, true😍
i mean yeah i am addicted to your vlogs 😂😍. In south, you will find more greenery, cleanliness and good roads cuz southern part of India is more developed and clean. Though most people are really friendly all over India ❤️❤️.

Just the right bike for Lavi. I my self love light bikes when i travel. My favorit was a -79 Honda XL500s 130 kg full tabk. Raw grunt Climed hills like a mountain goat. Kick start, always easy start. Loved it
❤️
You should definitely visit the North Eastern parts of India. I'm sure you'll love it.
Hey Lavi and Ollie, you should install any aux lights!! There might be places where it will get dark and the headlights are just not enough!! Glad you loved Delhi!! Hope we can meet!!! ❤️

indian roads are challenging for even experienced riders. ride safe. run checkups regularly. respect big vehicles. expect sudden pedestrians in front.

Guys add two Auxiliary Yellow fog lights on each.. it'll help you on the plains as well as High terrains. Also keep a tyre puncture kit and loose cash as it's a tube wheel. Best wishes for your trip❤ from Assam

- Says "I don't exactly know how to pronounce the name of the place we're going.
"Thiruvananthapuram"
- Somehow says it perfectly like a native person 😂
Bravo!
Really? Haha that’s awesome 🤩
One advice I want to give you is that never camp in isolated areas, otherwise it can get dangerous.Camp only at authorised camping sites or just book a hotel or homestay, it is safer. And do carry a pepper spray or a knife just in case.
And do visit the northeast of India.
We did the Delhi to south route in 2006... and then delhu to leh several times. I will look forward to your journey. Carry extra fog lights or reflectors are good as well.
Awesome! Thank you so much for watching ❤️
