I gently twist my hair around and simply secure with a gold metal clip on the edge of the bun. I've worn this style almost every day for several years now. Once in a while I get some tension areas but mostly I find it to be very gentle on the hair.
Loving the simplicity of 1:25 and I’ve been doing it often. All these hairstyles are so lovely. Unfortunately my hair is both thick and on the short side, so twisting it around is not so easy for me right now. :)

A jump cut through the important part of "how exactly do I move my hands here to tie this knot", seriously? It might be "obvious" to you, but there is a significant amount of people who grew up without proper instructions or example from their mothers about handling long hair, and it's not obvious at al when you have no experience. This is exactly the reason I turn to youtube tutorials on such basic things as "how to make a bun", because there's no way I'm asking my long-estranged mom. And you just skip through the crucial part :/

I recommend doing a braid then twisting the hair..works for me when my hair grows out ;)
