I've been a Yang supporter for years and this is the one time I strongly disagree with his views, in regards to DC rioters and police that aided them. As MLK Jr. said, "A riot is the language of the unheard. And what is it that we have failed to hear?" Anathema and condemnation, without addressing their very real thoughts and feelings that drive Americans to riot, is a failure on our part. And "those people" that riot are Americans, they are our neighbors, our coworkers, the people that serve us food, etc. They are not separate, they are a part of our country, our communities. If Congress had done its job, if they had provided for the people as it is mandated in the constitution, I doubt there would have been a riot. I doubt people would have felt pushed to react with violence. Many Americans have been underemployed, which doesn't qualify you for pandemic unemployment pay. Without a stimulus check, they have had to go hungry, wait in food bank lines for hours every day, be unable to feed their families sometimes, and have thousands of dollars in back rent. We should have had guaranteed monthly income. Yang knows all too well the necessity of UBI during this pandemic. It's also the only thing that will stimulate the economy. The Biden administration is saying vaccines will create jobs somehow, it will stimulate the economy. It will reopen businesses, like restaurants who have been arguably the hardest hit, but it won't "stimulate" the economy at all. Neither did PPP loans. Only putting direct cash into the hands of Americans will we stimulate the economy and create job growth. Even with Trump's rhetoric that day, and the idea of an unfair election, I don't feel it was enough to push people to riot. It was all factors of the pandemic, like having a lack of direction in life without a job or going to school, and lack of sufficient income. As one rioter said, he was there because "I have nothing else going on." When people don't have money for necessities and the things they enjoy, they'll find other ways to spend their time which can be harmful. "The devil makes work for idle hands." I doubt thousands of people would have flocked to the streets, for MONTHS on end, to protest police reform. While they strongly agree with these protests, most would simply have better things to do with their time. And they wouldn't have turned into riots, and looted stores. Even killing a retired black police officer, in order to loot some TV's... But without the money to do "better things with their time," they chose worse things to do.
What will never not be absolutely hilarious to me is that Yang can't seem to physically be able to raise the volume of his voice when he is excited so he just turns up his hype and enthusiasm to 1000 lol
An idea for NYC subway stations: Why not get Fortune 500 companies who are already located in NYC to sponsor particular stations? They can pay a rent to the city in exchange for being in charge of the look and the maintenance of each station. And, for each Manhattan station that's sponsored, that sponsoring corporation should be required to also take one, two, or more smaller stations in the boroughs. There are more than a few million people who pass through subway stations every day. NYC could make a lot of money from renting out each station and the sponsoring corporations could each have 100% control over the design and maintenance of each station. For example, Chase Bank can sponsor a station at 14th Street, Macy's can sponsor ta station at 34th Street, and IBM can sponsor a station at 42nd Street... I am sure the stations will develop into something much nicer than that which we have right now.
I served New York City since 1987 When I Graduated , as the President of my class from the Law Enforcement Academy, Your running brings tears of joy from my Eyes, because I knew how City government was being run behind closed doors very corruptly
What New York City needs, is someone willing to embrace the people, And see things with an open mind, Mr Yang talks about reducing the violence in the city jails, I know more about why there are so many issues, I was a multi decorated officer and we'll loved, and respected, I worked out of the Academy, And then from my office at 17 battery place in Manhattan, Never have I ever been assaulted by any inmate, I had meetings with , former Corrections Commissioner turned Police Commissioner Bernard Carrick former corrections commissioner abate and a host of others, I was even picked as a speech writer for correction academy's outgoing commissioner Jess mayhan, At BCF even while as a young officer I was picked to train the newly assigned officers, I have no problem with speaking my mind as I did when former corrections commissioner Susan abate asked about the poor morale in corrections, I without a doubt, I know the reason, If Mr Andrew Yang wants to know, The truth behind the problems with the Police department And the correction Department, I am the man to fill him in, I have been retired some 21 years now, And I know about the corruption, That is one of the reasons I left,
16:20 Unfortunately that's politically untenable in most of the country as it's seen as infringing on freedoms or something. Fortunately New York isn't most of the country, so this may work as a good demonstrator of "yes you can have a freedom pass and the fabric of america won't suddenly vanish"

As one rioter said, he was there because "I have nothing else going on."
When people don't have money for necessities and the things they enjoy, they'll find other ways to spend their time which can be harmful. "The devil makes work for idle hands."
I doubt thousands of people would have flocked to the streets, for MONTHS on end, to protest police reform.
Help is on the way NYC!!!
YangGang for New York, NYC residents PLEASE VOTE IN YANG !!!!!
I really hope Yang Wins!!!
Let's go!!
What New York City needs, is someone willing to embrace the people, And see things with an open mind, Mr Yang talks about reducing the violence in the city jails, I know more about why there are so many issues, I was a multi decorated officer and we'll loved, and respected, I worked out of the Academy, And then from my office at 17 battery place in Manhattan, Never have I ever been assaulted by any inmate, I had meetings with , former Corrections Commissioner turned Police Commissioner Bernard Carrick former corrections commissioner abate and a host of others, I was even picked as a speech writer for correction academy's outgoing commissioner Jess mayhan,
At BCF even while as a young officer I was picked to train the newly assigned officers, I have no problem with speaking my mind as I did when former corrections commissioner Susan abate asked about the poor morale in corrections, I without a doubt, I know the reason, If Mr Andrew Yang wants to know,
The truth behind the problems with the Police department And the correction Department, I am the man to fill him in, I have been retired some 21 years now, And I know about the corruption,
That is one of the reasons I left,

Unfortunately that's politically untenable in most of the country as it's seen as infringing on freedoms or something.
Fortunately New York isn't most of the country, so this may work as a good demonstrator of "yes you can have a freedom pass and the fabric of america won't suddenly vanish"
“Freedom pass” lmao fr,
I fear Yang has been compromised
@@snailordskates384 I'd rather do a freedom pass and let small businesses open earlier than the alternative of just sitting on our thumbs
how much different is having something that says youve been vaccinated different than having an ID to prove your age to get into a bar?
@@b42thomas honestly? Nothing. One is something that we've had for a long time and accepted, the other is something brand new and seems scary
