Just some start tests from drivers. I have to say that these F1 cars sound pretty good actually. Probably not as much as V10s of early 2000s, but still good!
@@moonwalker494 they've sounded near identical since 2016 with subtle changes each year. there have been a few unique sounding cars (the 2016 mclaren for example, which sounded higher pitched than the rest of the grid) but you can't say they sounded good after 2018 because they sounded nearly exactly the same in 2017. in 2015 most of the cars had a similar sound to what they sound like now, albeit quieter because of the wastegate regs. only a couple of cars had that really low pitched very quiet sound that most the 2014 cars had, the mclaren being one of them. and obviously yes they did sound absolutely awful in 2014, but to say they only sounded good in 2018 is nonsense.
Well then, it was another good lesson that the fastest lap times at the end of the winter tests don't mean shit. It's the same conclusion year after year, really. Yet there are still people who set up a championship order in February only to make themselves look absolutely ridiculous by the time F1 is well into the season.
In person and by trackside cameras the V6s sound amazing and sometimes if you’re lucky they might place the microphone near the exhaust so it sounds way better on TV
Tbh v6 turbo hybrid doesnt sound that bad. Its good in its own way, stop comparing to the less reliable, less power engines from the previous era. I know the v12, v10, and v8s were sound very epic but they are not compatible with the new v6 turbo hybrid even though they doesnt sound as epic as their predicesor.

Yep. It's an experience I would recommend to anyone (as long as you go with someone else). I went to the 2nd week of the 2020 tests as well but unfortunately didn't have the chance to get this close to the cars. I should still have some footage that I never got around to upload.

It's all about get used to it. They are not loud as v8/10 but the sound got better year by year and it's kinda pretty

They dont scream like the old engines, but they sound very cool. Its fascinating to literally hear the technological advancement in these engines.
