I've watched these videos over and over. Her voice is nothing short of amazing. She's a natural!!
She has a voice like no other .
A lot of people don't know that her first hit song "Blue" was written by former radio show host and songwriter Bill Mack originally wrote "Blue"for Patsy Cline but she died before she could record it and Mack, who was the founder of the overnight truckers radio show "The Midnight Cowboy Radio Show" from Ft. Worth, TX, Many years later while attending a Dallas Cowboys game, he heard LeAnn Rime sing "The National Anthem," at the now demolished Texas Stadium. Mr. Mack gave the tape to LeAnn's dad Wilbur Rimes who, at the time, thought it was "too old" for LeAnn. But, LeAnn disagreed and made and recorded her version with the yodel in 1996 at the age of 13. In the "Awards Season" of 1996-97, LeAnn won Single of the Year, Song of the Year, and Top New Female Vocalist from The Academy of Country Music (ACM), The Favorite New Country Artist from the American Music Awards (AMA), She won the Artist of the Year Country Artist of the Year, Country Singles Artist of the Year and Country Album of the Year from the Billboard Music Awards (BMA), The CMT Music Awards' "Female Star of Tomorrow" The Country Music Association Awards Horizon Award, and won 2 Grammys for Best New Artist and Best Female Country Vocal Performance. Then in 1998 she won from the World Music Awards she won World's Best Selling American Artist and World's Best Selling Country Artist.

I think LeAnn lost her faith and trust in others when she was a child and making music and making money, supporting her family and she did not get to have a real childhood, or a normal upbringing and family relationships. When she was able to manage herself and not be stolen from, she made enough money to live a nice lifestyle, once she could manage her own career and keep her money. So she did not sell out to anything or anyone, she did not give herself away to the " system " that can fast-track you to the top. She could make her own decisions with her career, her personal life, and how she wanted to live and how she wanted to make money. Good for her. Hope she has found peace.
And she did not sell out to autotune and pitch corruption. Although I think they usually do pitch correction on all the vocals of the masked performers as standard practice, it doesn't sound like they did it for this performance or if they did it was minimal.
You should listen to her video Spaceship. Deeply moving performance and stark desert scenes.

Why does Nick Cannon constantly yell when hosting a show? His voice is actually hoarse from the constant hollering. FFS, just speak in a resonant & clear tone & we’ll hear you!
lol The masked singer is crap and has always been rigged. The best singer never wins, and is eliminated. Until now! I am not a country fan, however Ms. Rimes hands down is the best singer and performer ever to appear on the show. The closest to Ms. Rimes was that kid opera singer (kitty) a few years back that hands down had the best and most versatile voice in that year but lost.
omfg.. Can they please stop with all the dancing and fireworks, and just focus on the singer at hand !?.

Short of "Blue" I haven't been a fan. Too much trailer-park drama. But fair is fair... this is a great and respect-worthy performance.
So, why is she trailer park drama and all the other carying ons and antics of other celebrities something different? If anything it's only trailer park drama because of the media and the judgmental fans, who aren't really fans. To be honest I didn't know anything about that till relatively recently, I just appreciated her talent. I thought the audio on the recording of Blue was horribly produced and I even left a message on her father's answering machine to that effect after it came out.

This was a post about LeAnn Rimes... not all other possible celebrities. This kind of misdirection is often referred to as "WhatAboutism". Look... a squirrel... over there!
The fact remains that Rimes has been part of several very public bits of drama. I don't look for it and yet it has been hard to miss in the public sphere.
My point was and remains, I find her performance of "The Story" to be impressive despite any other negative impressions I might have entertained.
