Welcome to Modern Homestead Alaska. We are located in South Central Alaska near the town of Wasilla. Living in Alaska and building our dream of “modern Homesteading” through the wilds of winter and the long summer days. We started building our Modern Homestead in 2021. We have since completed the upper levels of our home. Built a 16x16 foot chicken coop that dreams are made of. Our chicken ladies live in luxury as they view the beautiful lake from large windows inside the beautiful coop. We raise our own poultry, hunt for our food. We are avid fisherman And woman. We also built an amazing and beautiful wood shed. We have great big garden planes for the future. Join us as we dream big dreams and live everyday working hard to accomplish them.

My Grandmother had Alzheimer’s also- she was a Pastor’s wife & never forgot the scriptures & wanting everyone one to know Jesus. Nice to get greenhouses. You will definitely use them. I had a plastic snap and grow greenhouse, and the wind lifted it up and i lost half my seedlings, and it was anchored down. So please make sure the tarp top is anchored securely. The beans look delicious. Thank you for sharing I love watching you .
Birds chirping early in the morning help open the pores in the bottom of the leaf I heard.Classical music played to a corn field that people thought the guy was nuts,grew 15 foot high stalks.

YEAH ITS THAT TIME OF YEAR TO GROW YOUR OWN VEGETABLES 🍅🫑🥕🌽🥦🥕🌽 IF I WERE HER AND HER HUSBAND, THEY COULD WAIT A COUPLE OF WEEKS OR ANOTHER MONTH TO START PLANTING VEGETABLES IN THE GARDEN AND IM SURE THERE SON HELPS OUT TOO WITH THEM

We decided to leave our studded tires on for another week or two. The state moved the removal date back to May 15, so it will be next weekends main project. Gotta take the chains off the John Deere, too. It looked like Grandma had a great time at the garden center. Nice meeting you and Aaron at the Expo last Saturday, Aaron took some great pictures of you, Chrystal & me on my phone😊. Thanks!

Spring has sprung😊 Put up the green house today and filled it up with hardened off plants all flowers. So nice to see you decided to put up a portable green house, my choice as well. Nice to see your grandmother up and picking plants with your hubby. So excited to see your garden this year. Picking up composted horse manure tomorrow and filling up the gl buckets with manure tea from the green shop( its free) so much to do and its gearing up fast. Blessings

A few years ago my husband and I got that same one. It was missing poles and bolts. They told us they wouldn't ship us what was missing. So we took the plastic off our porch and wrapped it with the greenhouse material. It's works great. We made it to where the flaps open. It gets cold here in New York so a head start is so nice.

Your grandmother is so sweet and Aaron is such a gentleman and so good with your grandmother. My grandmother had Alzheimer’s and it steals so much, it’s heartbreaking.

I didn't know that Shelterlogic made greenhouses!
Is either it’s the only one sold that size around here. And we are not ready for a big structure. Do it was the best option for now. But then we learned they are $100 cheaper if we get them off Amazon

Well the next one should be super easy to put up after doing it once! Curious how many hours it actually took to put together? One other question you had said you decided not to put the greenhouses there because they were a muddy mess after the winter thaw well aren’t you concerned that next winter it will also be a muddy mess and then you won’t be able to access the inside of your green houses? Also wouldn’t it be advantageous in the early spring to be able to carry all your seed starting plants into the greenhouse if the door was facing the house? I’m also curious if doors on both ends wouldn’t be a better option for your situation? Can you get them like that or would it be a special order? Sure didn’t look very promising when the first box arrived without its set of setup nuts and bolts. Quality control on that sort of thing should be watched closer because what a headache that would be for most people! Take a day off work to put your greenhouse together and then discover all the main parts are missing! Ugh!! Major inconvenience. 🥰❤️🙏🏻🇨🇦🍁
The green houses can’t withstand our winter so they have to come down in winter so they won’t be in the way. Thank you friend have a super blessed week
