Publish the problem and let people have a gaze and poke. Unless you're victim of a ransom blackmail infection. In that case, it may sound alarming and dangerous to go to others with the problem instead of just safely paying the the ransom, but then the option is to let a few people who have major and goid experience in such scenarios and computer science in general look at it, in a manner that can't risk outside being detected by the infected system while looking/working on it before confirming what actually *is* risky/dangerous/fatal and what isn't, and seeing what the virus is *actually* capable regarding features, function, and potential damages and dangers. If money is that much of an issue, increase income by up a type of premium subscription, like patreon, and/or start a kickstarter.
We tried patreon at one point but it didn't work out, which is fair enough. Website long gone now, was some weird adware that kept the site up but locked us all out. Possibly upload files to archive.org, but busy at moment so will have to wait for now. Would be nice to have a database of all firmware for all tv boxes, but the setup required would be to expensive.
