    Been a 911 owner for decades, my RWD Taycan is as close you get. Stunning!

    Been driving a loaded RWD for 2 years. Very nice ride that gets noticed out on the road. Have done 1K mile road trips in it with no issues. Muscle car drivers can't help themselves acting stupid rapping their loud mufflers around this car. It's a hoot.

    We just purchased the ‘24 Taycan RWD with several options that were built into the car at our Porsche dealership. There is no way we could have afforded the Turbo, or an other upgraded model. Having said that, we will use it as a daily driver, do plan on taking road trips, of course, and this is a beautiful car all the way around. The ride is smooth, has more than enough power for us and the charging time is very quick, no time to have lunch, let alone a coffee! The car does sit low to the ground, and it is imperative to use the parking assist when parking or turning corners in a parking lot, we hate to scrape the wheels! This was a huge purchase for us and so far, we are very pleased with it. We try to avoid reading all the negative things on massive depreciation, etc. One more note, we think the Taycan is so much higher quality than the Tesla S we drove and almost purchased! Just our opinion…Thanks for this video.

      The Taycan is UNDENIABLY a better build quality than the Tesla. Depreciation is going to come with any car purchase unless you get a 911, some limited edition Ferrari, or a Land Cruiser, so I wouldn't let that bother you in the slightest. Enjoy the car, put plenty of miles on it, and bask in the stunning looks! No need to have money for the Turbo, when the RWD looks just as good!

    Valid points on why to go for the base model when buying new. I have seen some decent discounts on even the GTS version too. Great video!

    If me owning a base Cayman 987.2 has taught me anything, is that there's nothing wrong with a base model Porsche. The Taycan is really one of the only electric cars i'd look at having, and I think a base or 4WD model would do me fine lol

    I read on the forums this color is even more amazing in person, is this true? I don't want something that looks absolutely white 70% of the time, but this light gray is so sexy, but in videos and pics it looks absolutely white like 70% of the time.
    im considering going to buy this color, and its not shown in any cars in my local store so I just wanted an extra opinion.
    Great review btw liked.

      Ice Grey Metallic is one of my favorite colors right now. It looks WAY better in person than in photos and videos.

    I can imagine the Marketing team at Porsche are majorly irritated by the use of the description “base” … the model range is Taycan, Taycan 4S, Taycan GTS, Taycan Turbo & Taycan Turbo S, with variants available as a sedan/saloon, Sport Turismo and Cross Turismo.

    Great video as always! Have you ever thought about doing some reviews on any of the Aston Martin line up? I know it’s dependent on your market where you’re at, but still thought I’d ask.

      I have thought about it, and I 100% want to! Hoping to do some work with the new DB12 if I can get my hands on one. I am a big Aston fan...

      Honestly, I am not sure, for piece of mind I would go for a Taycan 4 Cross Turismo instead.

    Really enjoyed your video on the 993, the link no longer works, can you recall what was the asking price for that car? $90,000?

    • @carcaveofficial
      @carcaveofficial  Год назад

      I can't remember the exact number, but if my memory serves me, it was in the low-mid $90,000 range. Not sure what it ended up selling for, that was just the listing price.

    My conclusion: buy the more expensive models after a few years depreciation...

    • @carcaveofficial
      @carcaveofficial  Год назад +4

      That is always a great option, but if you are looking to buy new...buy base!

  • @Natespeare
    @Natespeare Год назад

    So what i got from this is, the only reason you'd want to buy the turbo s is if you want the speed and if can afford it.

    • @carcaveofficial
      @carcaveofficial  Год назад

      Not exactly, the Turbo S is going to depreciate much harder than the base Taycan. It is a faster car, undeniably, but in the real world that extra power isn't worth the extra cost for this type of car. This is of course just my opinion, but the base car represents a better "investment".

      @@carcaveofficial I see your point, and it makes sense, i was looking up a turbo s as my first car and now im kinda at a dillema to either go for tycan or the new amg gt . Thank you though

    It is not a 240kw battery…

    • @carcaveofficial
      @carcaveofficial  Год назад +1

      According to the Porsche website, the power output on the base trim is 'up to' 240kW. In Overboost, that is increased to 300kW.

    • @h.pandjarov
      @h.pandjarov Год назад

      @@carcaveofficialthat’s not the battery capacity though which is in kwh btw and is 93kwh out of which you can use 86. 240kw is the normal engine power and 300with overboost.
