Speciale and TDF are the 2 best modern Ferrari’s ever made!!!

We have a 2024 Prius Prime. Not that it matters much to us, but, it has a 0~60 time of 6.48 seconds and, 223hp. Difficult for us to comment much on mpg as we've had but one highway trip in the 3 and 1/2 months of ownership. On that run we saw 61.2mpg after the battery was depleted (82Km in EV at highway speed before the hybrid system activated). The car now has nearly 5,000Km on it and we have bought 1/2 tank of fuel (after the dealer gas was spent). That says enough for us regarding milage. For us, the car is essentially a BEV. If you can afford the extra cost of a Prime model it's the way to go for sure. Gas here currently costs $6.75 a gallon (down from around $7.00 pg a year ago), and hydro costs us less than .1325kwh (actually it's less as that figure includes the basic Service Charge (of around $30), you pay even if you consume zero power in a month). That means we can charge from "empty" for $1.80 and drive 80+Km. That's far less than we'd pay for regular gas here. In fact, running in EV Mode for us costs 3.75 times less than fuel would for the same distance. And, here we received a $5,000 rebate at purchase, making the Prime the same cost as the regular hybrid. The US government really needs to consider offering a rebate for plug-in cars manufactured off-shore, it's a fast way to reduce carbon emissions. All this and, it's a blast to drive. The 17's on our model make for higher milage and a better ride. This car has the aero wheel covers, and, no, that's not Toyota's way of "cheeping out". Under those plastic hub-caps you'll find a fine set of alloy wheels.

Totally agree with the comment that the sound, the capability and the ease of being able to wring the 458's neck without crapping your pants is unbelievably easy. I drove one in 2015 and then a 488 later in 2020 and the 458 obliterated the 488 for visceral sound and amazing experience. The 488 sounded like it was gargling marbles. V8 NA all the way. I would agree. However it depends on the driver. Porsche designed the car for the world market and not just for America. US drivers like to multitask such as eat their breakfast and drink their coffee and shave or put on their mascara all while driving at 80 mph. All of that is impossible in this car. It was not built as a catch-all SUV with all the convenience of your kitchen. Especially if you have a manual transmission. Europeans don’t need to drive and eat at the same time. They know how to enjoy life without doing six things at once.

I own a 718 GTS 4.0 and I believe it might be the best of both worlds. You can do a track day at the weekend and go for a 5 day, 2200 mile road trip in the week and it'll never disappoint. Just yesterday I drove my mum (65) back home from her holidays. It was a 440 miles (~6 hours) drive and she was complimenting about how comfortable the car is! The subtle looks of the GTS in comparison to GT4 is also much preferable for a daily IMO.

Maintenance is dirt cheap if you DIY. Many of the recommendations are overkill, especially if mileage is low.

Watch the tach needle... It never moves, not one bit. Either the engine sounds are pre recorded or the tachometer is not working. Why make something like this?

I've seen one in person. Bright yellow, Yorkville, Toronto. It turned a lot of heads, it sounded like a Formula One car.

I knew about this for a few years. Honestly I forgot they existed until this past Sunday when I saw one in person. At the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart. It was not next to but in close proximity to a 918 Spyder. Didn’t pay enough attention to see if they were a matched set.

I like your concise analysis. I think a manual transmission and should be available in a 911. I didn’t know the rectangular exhaust ports are artificial. That’s disappointing, too. Still, it’s a wonderful car.

You know their is a lever on the left side of the driver seat that will lower the seat, isay that because(well you did not say how tall you are) but i am six two and weight about two twenty and am sort of long legged and have absolutly no issue with head room or leg room. I love my 986, honestly did not think i would fall so hard for it.
