    When I was a young girl, my dad would turn the radio off when this song came on so I wouldn’t hear the words. My parents were very protective as to what I was exposed to before I was mature enough to make sense of it all. I remember well the controversy about this song. Love Conway though!

  • @brandyhagston9207
    @brandyhagston9207 Год назад +23

    One of his best! I love that the song has rising tension as it progresses just as if he’s doing what the song says, and then back to a slow down. That was some production brilliance!

    Actually it’s not her first it’s her first affair. He said I don’t know and I don’t care what made you tell him you don’t love him anymore, but as I taste your tender kisses I can tell you’ve never been this far before.
    I love this song.

      Doesn't mean she had been with him sexualy. I personally think the lin e your referencing is to show she is old enough and he isn't taking advantage of a young girl.
      IT IS 100 PERCENT ABOUT HER 1ST TIME HAVING SEX

    • @DannyLeeOGT
      @DannyLeeOGT Год назад +2

      Yep If she told him she didn't love him, that is considered to be single lol Like@@JL-is9rg said , come on the tender kisses is when he realised she was still a virgin. He im sure thought she had with her X. Stop trying to make it seem like a bad thing.
      She left a boy , found a man and gave him some tail, simple story of the birds and bees. Country DIED WITH THE OUTLAWS, at least they had the balls to sing about life and not fairy tales

      I know it's hard for you youngsters to believe, but your grandparents and their parents were usually both virgins when they married. They courted and sometimes it didn't work out. But they didn't sleep together because there were serious consequences back in those days. You were treading on thin ice and literally taking your own life in your hands if you took advantage of a girl or hurt her and her dad found out about it. And a jury wouldn't blame him a bit if it went that far.

    I don't think Conway Twitty ever hit a sour note in his life. His voice is like velvet. It's the only word I can come up with to describe it. I have a favorite that I'd love to see you check out. It's called "Goodbye Time" and I know you'd like it 👍 In my opinion, the live performance he did on an awards show is the best version if possible. Thank you for this reaction 😃 I love 💕 this song so much 😃😃

    Shortly before he passed away, we took my mom to see him live in concert. It was the end of May, and freezing cold out. We were sitting huddled on a blanket, with a second blanket wrapped around us. Lorrie Morgan came out dressed in a skimpy red dress, and you could see her shivering the whole time. Conway came out and put on one heck of a good show. After hearing that he had passed, I was so glad we had sat there in the cold so my mom could see one of her idols.

    Conway Twitty started out in rockabilly in the 50's the same way Elvis did and had just as many girls going crazy over him. My mum was a huge fan. He switched over to country in the 60's. I grew up listening to all his music. No music was ever censored in my house. Some of his songs are sensual but not crude like the crap they do today. His son sounds just like him on some newer songs.

    The group I was with back then did his '81 Spring Tour with him and T. G. Sheppard. He never spoke a word while on stage... just one song after another for 37 minutes... til the final show of the tour and he thanked the fans and talked just a bit. and he always signed autographs til the last person in line was gone. Was a great guy to talk to. Such a needless loss. If he would have just gone to the dr. when he started noticing a problem.

    This came out when I was about 6 or 7 years old. My dad, and my mom, loved him. They would sing his songs to each other. I remember being kinda grossed out. But, also like I want that love when I'm older. My parents were married 2 weeks shy of 57 years when my mom passed. Now I hear these songs and want to cry and laugh. They didn't have the best marriage but held true to their love

    This song was banned on a lot of country radio stations for being too suggestive. However, Conway was slick, he called the DJs personally and explained that they misunderstood the lyrics. Supposedly Conway told them that the woman was with another man so any part of her body was forbidden to b touched by another.

    Unfortunately, this sounds like a re-recording to me and not the original. Oh, they're very close, but the production on the original is a bit more lush and not as bright and crisp. On this one, Conway's voice sounds a bit more weathered than on the original. I'd definitely try to check out the original.
