I was a public school teacher for 30 years -- I know what the hallmarks of good teaching are. This tutorial, Crystal, shows one of the many reasons that you are an EXCELLENT teacher. You are aware that not everyone can do every stitch so easily. You find a way to make it accessible for everyone. You modify so that your students can do the stitch or do something that produces a very similar result. Your goal is always the same -- that each of us be successful! Thanks for all you do!
LOL. After my million years of crocheting you just made my life sooooo much easier!! Sometimes I can do the crab stitch, other times ‘knot’. Thank you, Thank you times a million!!!! 😊
THANK YOU for this tutorial! I made a bunch of granny stitch cardigans a few months ago and I used this as a border around the front and sides. The cardigans ended up looking amazing with this stitch. Unfortunately I had other projects to complete and I put my sweaters aside for a little bit. When I came back to them I completely forgot how to do this stitch!!! I looked at maybe 40 videos but they were all the crab stitch! Then I came across yours and I was like YESSSSSS she got it! Thank you again for making this video! Now I can make my cardigans again 😁🥰
Looks lovely and looks so much easier than the crab stitch. That one took me ages to wrap my head around what I needed to do for that. Also, just about to set off to work here in the UK and you've made my day brighter for posting so late/early In the day.
Oh no! I needed this last week. I have just finished a project that called for RSC. First time using this stitch and if the project was not for a special person in my life I would have given up. This hack looks sooo much easier.
Yes Crystal, this is so much easier for us left-handed people, well me anyway. I discovered this stich several months ago when I was failing at doing the crab stich and I love it.
😊This is the only way I do the crab stitch(forard reverse single crochet) 🎉 since I saw You do this last year! I Absolutely Love ❤️ using this stitch! I'm finishing up a baby blanket with it at this moment so I had to tell You how much that I appreciate You sharing with us! I've been crocheting for over 55 years, but I have learned alot of interesting stitches and techniques from you. Even though I have gathered many crochet books throughout the years, it seems that I am more of a visual learner then a reader. Thank You so Much again for coming up with this technique!😊❤😊
Thank you Crystal for all of your tutorials. They all seem easy. Im trying to find the easiest - fast stitch for my granddaughter to make baby blanket for her 1st time becoming an aunt. ❤🩵
OH MY LANTA!!!!!! I literally just finished the “everything but the kitchen sink“ beanie !!!! Now my next one will be even faster because of this fun hack!!!! You rock Crystal!!!!!
This is genius, over the last month I have used the crab stitch to edge a large throw, a baby blanket and four baby dress and cardigan sets. I still have a few more to go but this method looks so much easier and has more definition you can bet I’ll be using this on future projects. Thank you Crystal ❤
Thank you for this amazing border. I made my daughter a Christmas quilt and added this border to it. I used the granny stitch in stripes of Christmas colors for a quick quilt. She wanted it bigger than an afghan size. So this border looks better than the blanket. lol. Thanks Crystal. Happy holidays!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is so much easier. I envisioned this on the blanket that I am doing, but I was dreading it! Now I am flying through it! Again, thank you!
Thank you for showing this method. I've been wanting to use the crab stitch but knew it would be hard on my hands. This will be so much easier and less painful. Blessings!
What a coincidence! I just recommended the twisted single crochet to a friend a week ago. She was having trouble with the crab stitch. It's so much easier for me.
Thanks so much for explaining this stitch. It will add another dimension for the edging on the baby hats I crochet and donate to my local hospital's nursery and NICU.
Omgosh, way easier! Thank you Crystal. I couldn't do the crab stitch. I got so frustrated I threw my project down. Lol. This will make it so much better. ❤
I like this stitch!! I’m gonna put this stitch on a prayer blanket that I’m working on right now. Thank you so much Crystal for sharing this with all of us!!
Omgosh Crystal….This is fabulous!! I have tried the crab stitch many times but always give up bc it’s too hard and mine never looks good. I am so HAPPY you showed us this way of doing it. I’m definitely going to use this way instead. Wow! Thanks Crystal so much! 🙌💜🧶
😮 wow thank you, thank you for showing how to do that, it was kind of hard for me to do a reverse single crochet and what you just showed me is way easier.
Hi Crystal. I was taught how to do it this way from my grandma way back when and it is so much easier than the other way. Lol. Less work. Thank you for this.
Hey Crystal, I don’t have a problem w/the reverse single crochet stitch, I think it’s neat, but this looks fun too!!! Plus it goes the opposite direction!! Thanks for sharing!!!! ❤️
working from your harlequin blanket tutorial and made it to the crab stitch border and am having a hard time working backward 😳 from the comments here i’m so glad to have found another option *phew* THANK YOU!!
That’s so easy! I did the crab stitch on a project one time, and it was so hard that I’ve avoided it like the plague ever since. No more! Thank you, Crystal!
Another great tutorial. Deciding or what boarder to use tends to trip me up. The crab stitch makes a nice, clean, minimalist frame. I may have to make another throw just to try this technique/stitch. And, I may just do the zig zag puff stitch. That’s just beautiful especially with the yarn color you demo’d! Thank you again!
I love this. I'm finishing a scarf and wanted a nice finish other than just sc or hdc. This little twist is giving my scarf the perfect edging. I will be using this a lot.
Thank you!!! I love the look of the crab stitch but hate doing it. I like using it for dishcloths and potholders - I think it gives them a finished look. Thanks again!
Thank you for simplifying this stitch for us! Now I don't feel intimidated in tackling this method to get such a beautiful looking result ❤ BTW, posting THREE videos IN EIGHT HOURS IS OVERACHIEVEMENT!! Crystal, don't wear yourself out. Please consider taking at least one day off after this intense schedule.
Oh, thank you, Crystal. Working on a blanket currently. Was going to use that for the border. But I'm going to do this instead. I think it will be much easier for me. Not ready for it yet. But this may give me the get-up and go. To gett my hook busy.😅😊
Thank you so kuch for this! I was looking for a cute edging for a baby blanket I'm doing and this is it! You explained it so well I was able to follow it. Thanks Crystal!
I did the reversed SC the other day on the beanie for the first time and loved it! This twisted version of the SC looks so much fun as well!! ❤thanks Crystal
I love a pretty border to put that finishing touch on a blanket and I’m loving the twisted single crochet.. got to try it.. the center body of the piece is a nice looking stitch as well.. I didn’t see it listed in the description box.. I would love to check your video out for that as well 😊
Genius!!! I have always had problems with the crab stitch as my brain doesn't seem to want to work when i'm crocheting in an opposite direction so don't do it. This I CAN do. Thank you so much.
This looks like it is so much easier! I love the look but I don’t use the crab stitch often because I am so awkward with it. Thanks for sharing this I am going to try this one out! Much love
Way To Go Crystal 🥰❤🤗🤗🤗!!! You just became my Best Friend because I am one of those that loves the Crab Stitch but it gave me a fit, lol 😂😅😂! You are the BEST Crystal 🥰❤🤗🤗🤗!!!
The first time I ever did the crab stitch, I did fine. Next time u tried, I guess I was trying to think too hard and failed. Thanks for showing us this easy way!! I can do this one😂❤
It has been a while since I have commented on a video from you, so am here to say that this is so awesome and very beautiful. Blessings to you and thank you ❤

That is so cool! I don't like doing the crab stitch so this is a game changer. Thanks Crystal.
LOL. After my million years of crocheting you just made my life sooooo much easier!! Sometimes I can do the crab stitch, other times ‘knot’. Thank you, Thank you times a million!!!! 😊
This is so much easier than the Crabstitch!! It looks the same!!! Love this ❤❤
I agree!
I just did the crab stitch and it took me forever. I will use this method from now on thank you.
THANK YOU for this tutorial! I made a bunch of granny stitch cardigans a few months ago and I used this as a border around the front and sides. I like it. For me, it seemed less of a struggle moving forward, rather than backwards with the single crochet stitch. Thanks 🎉
Love the crab stitch as a border. I think this easier version is nicer too. Cleaner look.
Love that stitch swatch! Thank you! 🦋
Pretty stitch and looks easier to do then the Crab stitch! Thanks for another easy to understand and follow tutorial!
I love doing a reverse single crochet to edge my blankets. This is a new twist on it. I'll have to try it.

You rock Crystal!!!!!
WOW, this is a gorgeous stitch. This is going in the "must learn" file for sure!!
Crystal , what a pretty finishing stitch! Once again you have demonstrated how easy it is to make, thank you!
Thank you for this short tutorial. Both this stitch and your square are beautiful.
Thank you for simplifying this for us. I did the crab stitch once a long time ago. That was enough for me. Now I’ll do it again using your method.
This is genius, over the last month I have used the crab stitch to edge a large throw, a baby blanket and four baby dress and cardigan sets. Oh my goodness! This is life changing, that crab stitch messes with my mind like cold stew ! Thank you for this ❤️
Love that stitch and now that’s even easier! Thanks Crystal!!

Great stitch. I love, love, love the little swatch you did this edging stitch on. The yarn colors are beautiful!
How cool! I like this way of doing the reverse crab stitch. Thank you Crystal! 😃💜
Omgosh, way easier! Thank you Crystal. I couldn't do the crab stitch. I got so frustrated I threw my project down. Lol. This will make it so much better. ❤
So timely!!!! Was about to start a crab stitch border and now will be doing the BOD Twist!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
I like this stitch!! I’m gonna put this stitch on a prayer blanket that I’m working on right now. Thank you so much Crystal for sharing this with all of us!!

I learned this alternative a while ago, but I’m glad you did this tutorial. Lots of crocheter will be happy to see this!
I love this. I'm finishing a scarf and wanted a nice finish other than just sc or hdc. This little twist is giving my scarf the perfect edging. I will be using this a lot.

Looks very pretty. Thanks for taking time to show us.
I was thinking of trying this but seemed so counter intuitive to go backwards. I’m using your method. Thanks so much!!❤
I saw this a while ago on Instagram. Thank you for reminding me of it and showing us how. It works great on project we have little yarn left to border
I learned that from you and love it. OMG I love this also. Girl you are giving me a lot. I'm trying to stay up with all the videos. I just love that.

@@BAGODAYCROCHET thank you so much
I have done the reverse single crochet and it is awkward, this looks so easy!
When I finally got comfortable with the crab stitch. 😅 Reminds me of the song, Isn't it ironic. A new crochet stitch is always great. 😊❤
Wow love that...and so easy yet so so so pretty....thanks for showing us❤
This beautiful! I am left handed, will this work the same way?
Very clever! I am going to do this on your latest beanie pattern! Thanks for sharing!❤
Beautiful and simple, thank you.
