I went to a treatment center where they were doing Botox, Juviderm, etc. I wanted smile lines softened. The tech looked OK, not great, but OK. She’d told me she’d had work done on her face. She showed me photos of her before. I was stunned.....she had a nice small face, cute pointed chin. Her face now was big, full, almost a square face with all the fillers.....she looked very different. I politely excused myself and said I have to think about it. I never went back.

It’s like when a makeup artist has bad makeup... but at least you can just wipe makeup off. I would never trust a tech or surgeon that looks unnatural or bad haha
I had a similar experience at a dermatologist's. Her assistant who was assigned to me looked really creepy with all her fillers and extreme artificialness. I had no sense they would be able to tell what looks good. I'd rather stay wrinkled than look like a silicone doll from Toys R Us.

I was part of the 1992 settlement. My channel picture is a picture of me on the Phil Donahue show. (I'm the blonde in the black dress). I took on Dow's paid spokeswoman, a nurse and a plastic surgeon. One month later Dr. Kessler, FDA director at the time took them off the market. They were brought back on 14 years later, after FDA payoffs.

Several years ago I threw out my copy of the video, but Sybil Goldrich was also on the show with me (Sybil is still active as a Dow Settlement Facility liaison), and I think I'll contact her to see if she has a video copy she can share with me. We were up against Dow's paid spokeswoman Darcy Sixt. Apparently we did such a good job she had hers taken out as well. We never heard from Darcy again. I'm sorry that so many women have since been injured. This is all a result of powerful, greedy rich men.
I've been crushing on Rourke for years. I'm just sad that he had to do that to himself.
In my city there was once a person who went door to door offering silicone injections. You would think nobody would fall for it and you would be wrong. There is no bottom limit for people's stupidity.

Priscilla Presley was an unnecessary tragedy. She was one of the most naturally beautiful women of all time. I still don't understand why she didn't go to a good surgeon in Beverly Hills.

She thought he was a good doctor, and apparently he wasn't even a real doctor at all. I seem to remember she said in an interview that lots of women she knew were using him so she just assumed he was okay. Just because you have money doesn't mean you are savvy.
2:16 by far renee was the worst: she was UNRECOGNIZABLE. Her eyes and lips was what gave her charm.
I read West was advised to stay in the hospital for her postop and did not take medical advice. People don't understand how important preop ( medical clearance for surgery) and postop are.
One of my friends had the breast+tummy tuck done. A year later her belly ballooned again. Now she looks like a donut. A second friend got her breasts enlarged. A year later she regained weight, now she looks like a huge donut on sticks. Women, don't do this to yourselves!! You don't have to look like anyone else. Just look as you are. You are perfect!!!

Hi Dr. Youn, You are very personable, and I enjoy the content of your videos. However, what immediately jumps out at me, (and in all honesty is frustrating), is that when speaking about the "befores" and "afters", a singular picture of the person pops up. What I want to see is the procedures, differences, and your input while the photos are side by side so we can clearly see and analyze the procedures and your comments while viewing them. I don't like to try to remember exactly what the "before" looked like, and then see the "after". It would really make the videos so much better, in my opinion, if you would show the photos together while you speak of them. Just my input. I'd like to know how you feel about that? Thanks.

Wasnt Rene Zelwegger just wearing different makeup? She usually has a nude lid but she was wearing dark shadow in the Elle maganize photo. With her heavily hooded lids a change of shadow will really result in a different look.
What people don't comment on is that at the event Renee Zellwieger wasn't wearing make-up. Eye-shadow, mascara and lip stick have a real impact on fair-skinned women.

Renee looked fine!!! She honestly just looked like she did her make up different!! I'm a blonde and without full eyebrows and eyemakeup done I look totally, and I mean totally different!!
My eyebrows drooped the first time I got Botox. It was awful. I had to go back and have more placed in certain areas to allow for a lift. It was corrected but I decided to see another injector after that.
I like Botox above my eyebrows because I have super dramatic features and my eyebrows are already super arched. I need that brow drop.
Has Dr Youn made a video about the effect of celebrity plastic surgery on the general population? Especially by celebs who claim to have never gone under the knife but they look so so perfect. I do not understand the secrecy, is it in their contracts or something?

I think subtle surgeries or fillers are the way to go. Most people who go too far like Farrah Abraham just look terrible. It’s a shame when someone’s natural beauty is all gone.

Danny, I agree but I also wonder if being that beautiful to begin with only increases the pressure one feels to try to hang on to those stellar good looks. I mean, if you're used to looking flawless all the time and being in the top 5% or 10% of human beings looks-wise, and on top of that famous for it, and made rich because of it, I wonder if it isn't all that much harder to let your good looks go and to accept that your looks are fading as you age.

Please talk about botox to masseter muscles and what can go wrong.
Hi, I’ve been getting Botox in the masseter muscle for the past 3 years due to clenching and grinding, and wanted a slimmer jawline. I was told that it may cause a little bit of sagging in the lower face because you’re temporarily weakening the muscle hence there’s no support to keep that skin lifted.
From personal experience I haven’t noticed much sagging, the only thing is that it’s harder to chew that’s about it. But of course everyone’s different- it depends on age, how many units you inject, and how much skin/fat you have on your face that may cause the sagging.

So, I'm South African, and I know American Celebrities, but of course I can get it wrong. When that first picture of Rene showed up I had to question whether I even know who Rene Zellweger is. That can't be the same person. No way.
I like the minimalist recommendation! We can’t undo age and gravity but we can age gently. I am looking for an alternative to Botox. Exposure to livestock as a kid gave me immunity to Botulinum toxin so Botox doesn’t work. Relaxing glabella is all I want.

Agreed, but I also think sometimes when you have too much money, you don’t always take things seriously. They’re not necessarily doing research, just acting somewhat thoughtlessly, and oftentimes get more work than needed which can lead to problems on its own. They’ll go to drs who will do what they want, not what’s best for them
It seems like sometimes everything can go well during the surgery, but it "settles" (I don't know a better word for it) different than expected, which makes people look really odd.

I saw Renee later that year at a premier for Bridget Jones 3 and she was back to her regular look. More importantly, she stayed after the premier to take selfies and give autographs even with a light rain. She stayed until every last person that wanted a photo/autograph got one. Spoke volumes about her.

I'm glad he addressed the Renee Zellweger situation. I was SO confused back then. I *genuinely* wondered if that was even her or a public stand-in (and a poor one at that) after something had happened to her.
Whatever she had done, if you compare it to her pre-fame photos, her face is a more mature version of what she was born with. She looks gorgeous like that. Why would anyone criticize? I would love to know who is working with Pamela Anderson, and some other clients. She looks like an absolute angel.
I just want to put this out there: just because they're famous, we're not entitled to their time. It's work and even though many might enjoy their fans, some of them might be bad at handling crowds or have a different way of living life outside of the set. What can pass as rudeness could just be awkwardness, stress or introversion.

(I personally can't afford ANY small procedures). However, these "stars" become OBSESSED. And to be honest, they look worse!!! Example: a little lip filler to plump slightly looks nice...but then they go berserk and put more and more and more until they look like a freak!!! Same with the butt implants!!! IMO...who wants a big butt!! I spent my whole life trying to get mine small!!! Ha, ha...but true!!! 🤣🤫🤔🤭😪

I have some pretty deep furrows in my forehead. A dermatologist once told me that he could remove them pretty easily. I said, “No. These are my master’s degree wrinkles, and I’m very proud of them.”

I do too. I use glycolic acid on them which is a alpha hydroxide acid you can buy over the counter. It exfoliates the skin and speeds up the cell turn over rate and stimulates collagen growth. I use it wherever there are wrinkles and sun damage and it has worked so well for me. I use a mineral sunblock on my face everyday now.
You don't need a dermatologist you need an all expense paid trip

Simon Cowell looks so odd. He has admitted to years of botox, it hasn't served him well.
Wow, I’m incredibly grateful that you stated that breast implant illness is real. Some bodies do not tolerate silicone well, mine sure didn’t. I have a pre-existing immune condition and my implants nearly killed me. I only had them for a year, but the reaction was nearly immediate. Temporarily ruined my life, it was traumatizing. I’m so glad that I’ve removed them. Luckily they were small and my chest looks the same as it did before. I really respect you for your honesty.
I have autoimmune problems which have seen me lose both my large bowel and all but. 4 foot of my small. I cannot eat and hav3 been palliative since. If you have severe autoimmune disease, or even less severe, try not to use any foreign objects in your body. I can’t tolerate earrings,, I had an IUD create severe problems within days, a suprapubic catheter had to be taken out 8n a doctors surgery rather than a theatre. I won’t have mesh in my body as it could cause a problem because it can’t be taken out once the skin grows into it. If I broke my leg I’d have to have temporary pins. Please be very careful as someone else who has suffered greatly. I’m glad you took your implants out. Our bodies attack ourselves - they’re going to attack anything else. In fact there is a theory that an overactive immune system attacks cancer cells. I’ve always believed I won’t get cancer - unless my immune system is too suppressed by new biologicals. I’ve been told I wouldn’t have lost either bowel these days but for me the first one was removed 40 years ago when nothing was really effective as there was only cortisone and sulphurs in those days.

I read somewhere that he was actually going to do surgery for a deviated septum and he was convinced in doing surgery for the face too because of boxing in the pass so he did and you get the results

I love watching Dr. Youn's videos. They are rather informative and I love how he is all about less is more. I feel that in today's society, people really get pressured into some surgeries to make others happy, when they should be doing it only to make themselves happy.
as a woman with naturally large breasts, I can never understand the desire for huge implants. Maybe something to make you rounder or more feminine; any more is just inconvenient.
I was at a party the other night where there was a stripper who took it all off. She was an adorable woman, but her butt honestly looked like it had chunks of silicone or something in it. You could see it through her skin.

I usually love the editing on Dr Youn’s videos but this one isn’t my favorite 😅 the moving background is distracting and so is Dr Youn moving from side to side when a new photo pops up on screen. Plus the music for the number and take away is 🥴 But that’s just my opinion since I prefer simple editing.

@@mariella2884 you have to think when you are surrounded by a family who treats plastic surgery like its just a hair appointment how that will affect you. You are a product of your environment. He was surrounded by it and at the same time was getting fat shamed on social media (I dont think he looked fat ppl were blowing it out of proportion). But ultimately that impacted his choices.

Hell I'd travel from Ireland! I don't want plastic surgery, but I am only 28 so not saying I'll never want it. But he's fantastic and I think if I did want surgery I'd want to save up and travel to see someone like Dr. Youn.

Who doesn't get a full health checkup before multiple major surgeries?? My Mum's dentist made her have one before a root canal!!
I had my gallbladder removed and only got a check up because I demanded one. My insurance didn’t say it was needed. Because I was 15. My doctor was livid that I was supposed to have an organ removed without him seeing me first.
@@hollyshane2604 Which country do you live in? Here in India it's different i guess. We're only guided by our doctors' opinion, not an insurance company.
A full health check-up for a root canal? Was it with IV sedation or because she has health conditions that could become an issue? Because it doesn't really sound necessary for that. It's typically done with only local anesthesia and if you're in generally good health, I'm just not sure why it would be necessary.
@@XSemperIdem5 it was because she was 68, overweight but in generally poor health, and in those cases, even local anaesthesia can cause heart stoppage. And the dentist wasn't attached to a hospital, where emergency equipment was available. Highly unlikely that anything would go wrong, i agree, but he wanted his ass covered i guess.
