- In this video I demonstrate how to route MIDI to External Device Ports with GT 100.
You want to do MIDI without USB? Hooking up an external device is easy. What if you want to directly control one external device from Roland Fantom?MIDI Port Setting in Roland Fantom

fine work
That was awesome
good job appreciate your efforts and knowledge 👍
It's my pleasure
Thanks Vincent - for keeping this keyboard alive, Most fantom RUclips videos are 3 years old or older now, I think interest is fading, I just hope that Roland will deliver one more update.
I am an arranger keyboard player for many years, I tried to sell the FANTOM 6 two times but no one interested to buy it since the 06 came out, thanks to your videos and a few others I have become more into the FANTOM the past 6 months and I have to say, the more you dig into it the more amazing it gets,
I really would NOT think of selling it now, it’s the center controller of my studio and it’s a keeper. 👍👍👍
The same thing happen to me. with these tutorials I decided to keep my Roland Fantom 7.
Many Thanks I am happy it was helpful for you :)
Good job Thanks Vincent. Roland Have Plans to increase the polyphony in the fantom in future updates?
Thank you. Seems unintuitive, but great to know it can do this
Glad it was helpful!
Hey Ed, great video! I got this working just like you showed (with a Keylab 88mkii!) but the sustain pedal and wheel 2 aren’t affecting the sounds on the lower board anymore…anything I’ve missed?

Good instruction for one external midi device, but how do I connect a second or third midi instrument e.g. a korg Kronos or deepmind 12 do i need a midi thru or splitter box and how would assign each midi instrument to the Fantom. Many thanks and i’m glad you’re here doing the physical programming , it’s what us Fantom user need.
What if we want to us 2 sound modules and want to record the Ext sounds including the Fantom sounds to WAV?
I'm having issue with connecting my fantom 8 to my macbook pro as a audio interface
Which DAW are you using on your MacBook?
Logic pro x
You have to look on the mic button (yellow one, next to your clock from the upper bar on your mac) and turn of active noise canceling.
Had the same problem, was because of an Mac update.
Hi. How do you connect external MIDI devices like the Studiologic MP117 MIDI bass pedals to the Fantom to be able to control the Sample Pad sounds?
I’m trying to connect both cantons together to where I can play my top board through the main board…. Basically joining both keyboards together simultaneously
You don’t need to use multiple ext channels like in this video, you can use just one and do the same thing.
