Just got back from a Guitar camp in the Catskills and Jon did a Masterclass there I bought his album Quiet when I was there and listened to it several times all the way through on my drive home and man this song is sooo good and I love this version now I am gonna play it regularly and add it to my setlist, Also for those that don't know there is a fantastic version that Jeff Beck did with John Mclaughlin that is also fantastic.
Jon, would you be willing to record your interpretation of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow?" I'd love for my son to hear it played correctly. You taught it to me in college and I still play it often but struggle with certain parts. I really enjoy hearing and seeing you play online. Thank you for posting your videos. Best regards!
Hi Steve - I’ll put that song on my “to do” list! Right now I’ve been concentrating on songs in the new book, but at some point I’ll get back into doing some more from the first book. I may elect to just do an audio recording instead of a video, since it’s a lot simpler to do, and since I’ve had synch issues when trying to do video with simultaneous good quality audio recording. But I’d like to tackle it sometime. Thanks for writing. Jon
Much appreciated! I heard an audio of you playing it in a club on a gig you did (with Michael Leonhart I believe) but the chatter and clatter from the room washed out the nuances of your performance. These videos are excellent additions to your page in spite of your latency concerns. Keep them coming! Always love and am inspired by your incredible talent! -Blessings
