Not enough people know or interact with disabled people. Because of that, when they do, they often don't know what to do. They panic, or worse, just avoid situations for fear of doing the wrong thing. Scope want to end that.
In this film, introduced by Actor Warwick Davis, Scope re-enacts real life awkward moments that disabled people have experienced when out socialising, dating or at work. The film also features: Bad Education star Jack Binstead; actor and presenter Mik Scarlet; Ronnie Murray - the head chef of London's HIX restauran; and Nic Hamilton, racing driver and brother of Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton, and many others.
Help us #EndtheAwkward and share these awkward moments with friends.
    About Scope:
Scope exists to make this country a place where disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else. Until then, we'll be here. We provide support, information and advice to more than a quarter of a million disabled people and their families every year. We raise awareness of the issues that matter. And with your support, we'll keep driving change across society until this country is great for everyone.

I remember 35 year ago when I pushed my exwife in her wheelchair in to anti-natal clinic the receptionist screamed when we told her that my wife was pregnant. Then asked how?

Fantastic video. I feel a parallel with mental health issues.

We're glad you liked. By the way, we just launched "Five awkward things to avoid doing when you meet a disabled person". Have a look: ruclips.net/video/t9zUEmatYBQ/видео.html

I'm roughly the same height as Warwick and I have had so many awkward moments, one time someone in my high school was pretending that they were taking a selfie from over half a brick wall, oh yeah great angle with the back camera facing toward me, I was annoyed but I couldn't call them out because they'd deny and if I reported it to the school he would have deleted the picture and claim to have never have done it...

Being patted on the head once at work. I'd say that was pretty awkward.

Denise Johnson Hi Denise, sorry about that. Do you mean the wording on the thumbnail or the closed captions/subtitles?

As we prepare to #EndTheAwkward again this summer, we asked some of our friends what their most awkward moments were. Please watch and share this film.

Patrick Laceholder ...around disability. Two-thirds of people feel awkward around disability. Not enough people know or interact with disabled people. Because of that, when they do, they often don't know what to do. They panic, or worse, just avoid situations for fear of doing the wrong thing. So that's what we're trying to end.
