I am not an expert at all with the bachi, but i would say it feels more like slapping and bouncing off the string more than plucking. I'd suggest looking at beginner shamisen lessons

I had my friend 3d print it because the cheapest one i could find was 100$ which is too expensive to use for a one time thing. Holding it felt odd at first but i kinda got used to it, even though i am not using the proper technique lol
