    hey Anton, how do you route traffic between two subnets in GCP?

    • @AntonPutra
      @AntonPutra  Год назад

      Each subnet gets a default route for VPC where it's created. I didn't get a question

    How did you change route for private subnet for Nat gateway or is it changed automatically when nat is created

      @@AntonPutra Hi Anton, Is there a chance you could explain the above-mentioned step here only. Need help to understand this.

      @@ankitnegi5678
      1. When you create a NAT gateway you need to place it in the public subnet (that means that subnet has a route assosuated with it with default route to the internet gateway)
      2. After you create a NAT, you would create another route table with default route (default means 0.0.0.0/0) that points to your NAT gateway

    Still can't understand why we need a private subnet since you can create a vm instance without external ip address in your public subnet and it will be the same if as you create it in you private subnet.
    With AWS it's all clear since route tables give you more granularity and flexibility to protect resources within private subnets

      true, GCP more on the PaaS side (platform as a service - higher level) when AWS is more infra as service (low level). In GCP you also can attach nat to specific subnets but if your VM has public IP it can reach internet anyway
