  • Modified FD3/64 engine, salamander jet plane which it was flown in.
This has a open front compressor wheel similar geometry to wooden wheel
o/d increased to 68 mm -7.5mm tip height.
Twisted turbine wheel as book 37 degrees but with angle reduced on blade tips
    to approx. 30 degrees.
    Mark Drake designed combustion chamber.
Curved diffuser vanes more efficient, start at same angle as book.
Nylon front intake very close fit to compressor wheel 0.15 mm.
    Turned aluminum front more stable.
open fronted compressor wheel is not as efficient as the covered wheel
had to reduce angle of NGV to 36 degrees and untwist/curve the turbine tips.
All stainless and metal ends up heavy engine.
Sorry for almost double post wanted to put more detail in and show colour of combustion chamber after running.

Sir, I was planing to build the famous fd3/64, but I wanted to fit it with the mark drake combustion chamber. The problem is I can not find the drawings anywhere, and unfortunately I'm not a GTBA member.
