Great Vid!!Lots of question: Is this the HK system - Option code "688" Premium sound in this car? * Is the sound deadening only installed on the inside of the door or can (would) you actually stick a piece on the back of the (magnet) speaker? * @ 2:39 your shown reaching for a tweeter door housing. Is this an OE part (without the "HK" logo) or does this come with the Audison Prima Kit? * @ 3:15 it wasn't too explicit/clear on the wiring of the crossovers. * What is the purpose of the cloth friction tape in comparison to just plane vinyl electrical tape to wrap the wiring? * What about the I.P's Center channel speaker? * You went straight to an Audison ("AP8.9Bit") DSP/Amp. Did you not need to previously install an "L2Ci" in line and/or a "Bit DMI" ("Most") module? * Have you ever heard "Maestro" (ex. "MBQuartz) speakers? Thanks!
I wonder if that subwoofer makes a big difference since it looks like its using the same output. I'm in the market for a sub woofer replacement on my M4 and this has me curious.
The underseat woofers do make a huge difference over the factory ones as you're going from a 6.5" driver to an 8" driver. However, to have them working at their full potential I would always run these off an aftermarket amplifier, if installed off the factory system you will notice some improvement but it's night and day when they're amplified off an aftermarket amplifier. When it comes to presenting my customers with different options, Option 1 would be a front speaker upgrade, Options 2 would be front speakers and amplifier (I always tend to use the Audison Prima 8.9 bit or F8.9 bit to take advantage of its small footprint and built in DSP) then Option 3 would be to add the underseats. Customers have come to me and asked for a subwoofer as well before having the system installed, what I advise them to do is listen to it without one first then if they feel they want more, add it afterwards as it's straightforward to integrate it into the already installed amplifier (or add an active subwoofer with a built in amp). Once they're bedded in they do give you some genuinely surprising low end, although this is subjective to what you personally require, music taste etc, if you want to shake the car then yes I would suggest a separate subwoofer enclosure, if the goal is to have a well balanced accurate system then an additional subwoofer may not be required. I apologise for the lengthy reply! I don't know how local you are to me, but I do have a BMW system that I'm happy to demonstrate to you so you can hear them for yourself and decide which route you suits you best. Demonstrations are free of charge but need to be booked in so if you are interested just drop me an email at info@rtacaraudio.co.uk and I'd be happy to arrange it for you.
@@RTAFabrication That was very helpful insight! thanks. So, where would you rank replacement rear deck speakers on your list of priority? note: I will soon have a M240i so my rear deck is a little closer to my ears that it would on the M4. Also, I don't expect to ever have passengers in the rear seats so, the audio only needs to serve me. Old school thought is to forget quadraphonic sound and concentrate on great-imaging stereo. thoughts??
@@ckunstadt Save the money from the rear deck upgrade and invest in a dsp or a dsp/amp. Tune the rear crossovers for rear fill up to 3500 hz from 120-180hz. The stock speakers do handle mids well so they can easily be repurposed for this as long as the settings are available
At the bottom of the sub enclosures that go under the seat there is a small drainage hole, did you covered those holes when you applied the soundproof material?
was the hifi SA676 installed as standard? Will the OEM AMP be replaced by the AP8.9 or will the original one still be connected? Great video Greetings from Germany!
Considering there were no tweeters installed originally means there was just base audio (quite surprising on M4). The new amp replaces the OEM if there is any installed.
Can’t remember off the top of my head but if I can find the setup file I’ll check it and let you know. Just for fun, if you go to Audisons website and download the 8.9bit software you can install it and run it in offline mode. On the site if you navigate to the BMW configuration pages, go through it as if you had a Harman Kardon system, spec up the highest level of install then there’s a link to download a setup file which Audison have provided for that vehicle, you can open that in the software and check out all the crossover points, eq and time alignment that they suggest 👍🏻 I’ve used these sometimes as a base to start from when tuning as the time alignment is actually near bang on most of the vehicle profiles, the eq, levels and crossover points tend to need adjusting depending on the end result I’m after.
Yeah it’s sound treatment. This is 2mm and there is a 3mm version too. It makes the panel a lot more rigid and in turn reduces resonance, improves lower end frequencies and reduces road noise. 👍🏻
They all have the clips but some of them are glued as well. The Audison woofers clip down into the factory clips along with the gasket that comes with it, then it's screwed into the original housing to pull everything nice and tight for a good seal 👍🏻
I actually did my G30 530d myself. Full retrofit of Bowers and Wilkins speakers and as it had no amp at all I used the Audison Forza 8.9. Sound is amazing. It’s all plug and play so very easily done
@@davetreanor5303 hi i have g30 2017 with base audio no amp but i want only sub in the trunk and amp for the sub how can i do? any plug and play option?

JAKE RIVERA it is Not a real woofer but a low speaker. Better than stock but a woofer extra is what you should go for in the Trunk. Than its perfekt

Where do you buy the Sound absorber Stuff?
I can supply it to you directly. Drop me an email at info@rtacaraudio.co.uk and I'll run through the options and pricing with you 👍🏻

how did you connect the tweeter, was there a input in the woofer?
Come si fa a collegare l'amplificatore?
No MoBridge?
Would that system fit into E92 Coupe?
What’s the black adhesive stuff you put inside the door for? Is it sound dampening?

Hey I have a question.
Were the Underseat Woofers glued in the housings? Or are they really just clipped?
Thanks:)

So in this case with the m4 were just clipped in ?
Was there any retuning because for the new amp
