  • Step by step instructions for a highly effective bass frog. The 3F Frog is fairly straight forward once you get the hang of it and well worth a place in any warm water fly box. Try them for any frog eating species but be warned, they wont last long with toothy fish.

    Hook: Tiemco 8089 Bass bug
    Thread: 6/0
    Weed guard: 20lb hard nylon
    Body: 2mm Foam
    Head: 1/4" foam cylinder
    Legs: medium round rubber
    Eyes: Goggle eyes
    Superglue and permanent markers

    Nice! I really like the double weed guard. That also helps the fly to land right side up. I should have done that on a few flat profile patterns I've tied. This will sit head up with the long back legs dangling below. Deadly! I think you've got a winner here.

      They're really good, even when they land the wrong way up the bass don't care!

    I think this fly was created by a Canadian named Elliott something. I tried it years ago, not successfully, when I was learning. Should be easier now. By the way, little by little I am solving the Scottish accent. You have a lot of flies that should do very well here in Florida USA
