  • Do you remember the TV series Space 1999, that aired from 1975 to 1977? What did you think of the Eagle spaceships as seen in the episodes? In this video we have a quick look at the range of 12 inch diecast metal Eagle models produced by Product Enterprise between January 2004 & November 2006.
Welcome to the Retro Tech Repair Shop, where I invite you to join me in a journey of investigating, repairing, reviewing & playing with obsolete technology, games and nostalgic favourites of the past.
Did you have a favourite toy or piece of tech and always wondered how it worked? Do you want to learn how to repair stuff, maybe a beloved childhood toy that you would like to get working again. Kids always bringing you their broken items to fix? Maybe you want a stroll down memory lane. If so, you came to the right place!
I will be purchasing items from eBay that are listed as "for spares or repair" or "not working", to see if we can bring them back from the plight of impending landfill or recycling. Let's not allow these gems to be lost forever.
I will also be taking a look and reviewing working toys, games, models & collectables from my childhood or based on classic films & TV series from the 70's onwards.
I hope you find it interesting, informative and fun.

    ICONIC!
That's all I can say about this classic TV series of the 80's that ran for only two series'

You've made a great video presentation of Space: 1999 eagles. The eagle that I prefer is the classic transporter. Thank you.

Great show and some great models!
It's a shame there isn't one with the arm for grabbing things in space like those life pods!!

Great introduction. Oh happy days. I still have the Airfix model of the transport eagle in a box along with some ufo collected cards in the attic. IAM 60 now and still watch space 1999, ufo, Thunderbirds, Joe 90 and many other Jerry Anderson greats. Maybe I watch them to recapture my youth or it because there's never anything on TV. Thanks 👍 for showing the eagles will look of for them.🙌👍

I've always thought that of all the spaceships I've seen in science fiction, these were the most functional and practical in terms of design.

Those are very nice diecast models of the best spacecraft in science fiction.

Great collection! Space 1999 was my least favourite GA series so, when Product Enterprise moved away from diecasts and were selling off their stock cheap, the Eagles were the only models I didn't buy (sounds of head repeatedly hitting wall....)......

I have the original one, and it sits proudly on my shelf, one of my favourite models in my collection. I wish I'd bought the laboratory eagle with the laser tank, but at the time couldn't afford it.

I have the standard version, the rescue version and laboratory version. I sold the freighter version a few years ago, much to my regret. Eventually I will purchase it again and the VIP version as well. Excellent video ! I see Hero Collector is releasing their first Eagle now. The quality isn’t the same as compared to Product Enterprise though…

But the three currently available Eaglemoss models are not bad at all. It's only 80 bucks and you can get it on sales for ca 50. It's slightly less accurate compared to this one her. But the paint job is better quality. Eaglemoss got the color of the interior of the cages right.

Really great overview of the Product Enterprise line of Eagles! I have them all, except for the silver and gold versions (not interested), and the Freighter Eagle. I have the Laboratory Eagle boxed set, and it's real cool. I also recently received the (formerly Product Enterprise, now known as) Sixteen12 Moonbase Alpha launch pad. To make up for it, I got the Freighter Eagle in mini form, in scale with the launch pad.

For some reason I thought I remembered PE also releasing a Heavy Lift variant, with the bolt on side engines? And a Manipulator arm variant, which had a removable grabber claw on the front left landing pod.

There is one eagle they did not model and that was the Hawk attack varient. I have only ever seen that version as a plastic kit . It is a pity that all the Product Enterprise models are now so damned expensive.

Had all the original DINKY Eagles as a child, also had the Original series Enterprise all the Thunderbirds and UFO models also made by DINKY. These Eagles do look very similar to those I wonder if they got hold of DINKYs original tooling?

    • @davidwatts1871
      @davidwatts1871 2 года назад +1

No, these are completely new compared to the Dinky ones. I bet you wish you still had the Dinky's since they are now worth a fortune, I know I do. 2 Eagles, 1 Enterprise, 1 Thunderbird 2 and 2 UFO models, probably worth close on 2 grand mint in box in todays money

@@davidwatts1871 yeah had all the TV related dinky toys also had the Italian Job Mini Coopers too! Plus had a huge array of Corgie and Ertl toys too like KITT, the General Lee and The Fall Guy truck the 60s style Batmobile and most of the 007 vehicles! And the list goes on if still had them all could have retired by now!
