Nice, nice, nice!! Thank you soo much! I am on the island right now for the first time. I have been researching about Ikaria for a long time and I also have seen Eleni and her husband in several videos. This is so exciting! I am still here for another few days, so I think I will drive there and have a look. My heart is pounding. Thank you again, Martin
Hi! Thank you for creating this video! I absolutely love the documentary as I just watched it for the second time. I never knew there was a cookbook. Ikaria is on my list to visit. Thank you for sharing their information so we can support and experience the culture.
Thank you! I love the documentary too! The cookbook is definitely worth having as well. I just made Eleni's sourdough again on Sunday and I think it's getting better each time. I still have more practice to do though 😁
I purchased the book and looking forward to add new recipes. I’m sure it’s tasty and will get better with time. Also I was surprised that you had no problem getting the sourdough starter back to the states with no problems. Thanks again!
I witness a lot of -so called- coincidences in my life. Strangely enough, now even more while I suffers cancer. And listen / watching this footage, i can only say `for me there is only one love zone, it listen to the name of Greece!
@@explorytales Thanks for your reply. My kind of cancer is incurable, but is under control. I do believe there is still a long and good life (with my wife and two daughters) in front of me. We all love Greece. It,s the people who made beautiful memory's for us. Take care and I love your video.
@@semperamici1548 I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. That is so hard. I'm very glad to hear it's under control. And I am inspired by your positive attitude. I hope you can enjoy a very, very long time making wonderful memories with your beautiful family. That's what it's all about
I'm planning a trip to Ikaria in May 2025. I'm looking to take one of their cooking classes or do their 6 day retreat. Do you feel like you got enough blue zone information with just the cooking class or do you recommend additional workshops they have? My husband is not interested in doing the whole retreat so seeing this video I'm thinking we could rent an Airbnb and I can just attend the cooking class etc while he does something else. Any additional recommendations would be great.
I definietly felt like they provided a lot of Blue Zone info at the cooking class. And it's a great opportunity to ask questions too. If you want, you can also stay at their place, just as a hotel/B&B, without doing additional workshops/classes. It's an incredibly beautiful location.
@tanyaguinn6357 We're not near there but - good news! - you can actually make your own sourdough starter from flour and water. That's what I did before I got this one from Eleni and it worked great 😁
This one video wqas enough to make me a subscriber, I can't believe it was by chance.
I still can't believe it either! It's one of the craziest things that has ever happened to me.

@@alishafulton5454That's great! I hope you enjoy it. The recipe for spinach pie in the Ikaria section is also really good 😋

Eleni and her husband were in a Yes Theory video about Ikaria recently.
@@kloatlanta That's so cool! Do you happen to have the link?
So amazing! Where do you live? I would love to get a little starter! We are in NC 😊
