@CIA Defector It's illegal to drink while driving in a lot of european countries, or at least it's highly frowned upon by police (I'm from France, and those last years, as Jeremy Clarkson once said, the french police has lost all of its sense of humor) , so cupholder are usually just "bottle holder", for when you stop to have a drink with your bottle
What do you mean? Cup holders should be able to hold a bottle 500ml max usually. Any larger and that’s just unnecessary. Most vehicles just have two in the front, I prefer rear ones in the armrest also for McDonald’s and all that but it’s not that usual. Not sure why you would ever need so many and personally, I only want cup holders with grips at the bottom and the plastic/rubber grips all around the cup holders to ensure it can’t move at all
These vans are actually really fast. They come flying through my neighborhood at 70mph and run over whatever is in their way. I think they're from the Amazon or something.
I touge every cargo van I get my hands on, so no, not absolutely no one. Touged the SHIT out of a transit e150, ram pro master, econoline e150 and a dodge sprinter 3500
As someone who used to do deliveries for Amazon and drove a sprinter van, I can tell you that these things can really move, way faster than you would think it would be.
Ian Scheurer I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with more aspiration than making a few dollars on the side. The work is chaotic, management is unsupportive , and prospects for advancement virtually non-existent.
@@ColinPopoviciu I'm pretty sure these cars are very good at bad roads or off road to a certain extent, i just keep seeing this car on many 3rd world countries where roads are just pothole haven.
Wow...they're still using the OM642 V6 😂 It's a great motor so not super surprised. OM656 is amazing but definitely not made for the compact small commercial engine bays
Sprinters are some of the most useful vehicles on the planet. They can't tow as much as pickups but they do everything else substantially better. And with the right off road tires and wheels they can look really cool
No. That voice system is the best in the industry. It allows for natural speech. Have you used the system in their passenger vehicles? You don't say specific commands. You can say "I'm hot" and it'll lower the temperature. You can ask it to tell a joke. But I don't think it heard you when you said open the map since the van is noisier inside. Also, does this van even have the maps installed in it?
I think that’s the HD rear end whining, because it seems speed oriented, as opposed to gear position. Reminds me of a G80 from GM. It also gives it a little old world agricultural grit, as does the diesel.
Drove a 2015 15 passenger luxury 2500 Sprinter for work (Chauffeur) and it was good except for the interior was shit lol. Cup holders were laughable, AC was not intuitive, dash and radio felt like it was from 2006 lol. That diesel torque is addicting though!
I think Doug Demuro has done a review on one of these or something similar! Apparently the Mercedes passenger vans are all a few steps behind the competition in terms of comfort, tech and safety features despite being priced much higher.
I loved driving the Sprinter for Amazon and every time I got the ProMaster or Transit I was PISSED! Makes me want to buy one as a daily and for my bike! Also people look at you differently in the Mercedes versus the American competition which is pretty boring. The Mercedes is such a premium level of driving and that was with the base package.
We've used a manual diesel Mercedes Sprinter from 2005 for our hot air ballooning, but it was recently totaled in a rear end collission caused by a drunk driver. This one would be an amazing replacement, but we don't have the money to spend. The lifted suspension would be great for balloon pickups from out on rough fields, but would make it a pain in the butt to lift the 100kg basket into it. One can only dream of a good van.
My van review: Ram promaster is definitely the quickest with the pentastar, but a sloppy pig in handling. The transit e150 is the slowest van but boy does it touge well. The Sprinter is the best balance of handling and acceleration. The Chevy express is a 1995 van that shows its age and just cannot compete, tho the powerplant is adequate.
Drove a previous gen (extended high roof, not dualies) for over 70k km on my previous job, it was great really. Drove the new one a bunch as well when ours was in for maintenance, ergonomics and comfort are much better but I dislike what they did with the brakes, it's too much power for only a little pressure. Steering feel is nonexistant as well, the older one actually had very good feel at the wheel, and more resistance. Either way, very nice driving truck for sure.
I always found it weird why Americans love pickup trucks when these vans exist where you have more seats, more doors, bigger space, and you can lock your stuff in. All trades and transport have these vans in EU.
We have the 2500 cargo van this week. It’s hilarious that I’ve pretty much parked it wherever when I’ve gone to pick up my kid from school. No one questions it because they think it’s an Amazon delivery truck 🤣
By far the best delivery van ever. These dang minimum wage immigrants should be grateful that the delivery company's spends so much money Disclaimer, it's not meant as an insult, it's just true. That engine seems a bit weak for being 3.0L V6 and whatnot. Got a 2.2 Transit with the downsized Puma and it still accelerates faster. Weird. The previous 2.4L Puma was even faster. Not sure about the 2.0L EcoBlue Diesel ones tho. ! Don't care about brands, I don't care if one is X and the other is Y. Just saying that it doesn't seem THAT quick. Especially the US Ford vans, I know those can haul ass. Why the speed? Honestly, if you use a similar van, you often might just do hauls for your own company for example. And for me, I often end up meeting a dozen of trucks in the early hours on windy roads with lots of spots to overtake. And with a van quick enough, I can simply just take over all of them and cut down the travel time significantly. While you may say "you'd reach your destination at some point anyway" - you are right. But when you wake up at night, load up at early hours, you may end up quite tired by the trip to home. I always try to sleep enough and load up on caffeine but the point is, if I get home quicker, it is still a safer trip. The speed also seems weird. I know two other teams with the same 2.2 and they do ~100mph on the highway easily without any hassle. I usually just do 80-85 with cruise control. But to have just 90 as top speed, wow. That's kinda weird. Again not saying that a van should do 200mph, just weird that it struggles so much to reach higher speeds and whatnot.
I’m eventually getting a pleasure way class b rv with the sprinter chassis it’ll be the 3500 dually it’ll probably ride pretty smooth considering it’s a rv and all pleasure way rvs are made in Canada so it’ll be very reliable and very comfortable on the highway
the only good thing was the v6, i prefer the ford looks way way better on the inside it's a legit mondeo interior, even vw looks better, damn mb is bold af version tho.
I don’t understand all these noises that I hear when you ride over some thing on the road just a little bit things and that noise when you accelerate!! is it really that way or is it just the camera Thing?

From what I've heard it's both. The manufacturers have a certain selection of cars in their loaner pools, and reviewers can also request cars.
