    INGREDIENTS
    ●100 g Butter or Margarine
    ●50 g Caster Sugar
    ●50 g Soft Brown Sugar
    ●200 g Golden Syrup
    ●200 g flour
    ●2 tsp baking powder
    ●1Egg
    ●150 ml Milk
    ●2 tbsp Golden Syrup
    METHOD
    In the microwave, melt butter, golden syrup, caster sugar, and soft brown sugar
    In a small bowl or jug, whisk together milk and 1egg until well combined. Set aside to ensure the mixture is ready when needed for the batter.
    Sift flour and baking powder into a large mixing bowl to remove lumps.
    Bake in the preheated oven (at 165°C) for about 45-50minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. This ensures the cake is fully cooked through.
    Gradually blend in the egg and milk mixture along with the cooled syrup mixture, stir Butter continuously until smooth, lump free batter forms.
    Pour the mixture into the prepared loaf tin, spreading it evenly. Make sure the batter is level to ensure even baking and a uniform shape.
    Brush or drizzle 2 tablespoons of golden syrup over it. Allow the cake to cool fully before serving.
