Hi MizMamie! Thanks for this video we've found only last Friday. As a really surprise! About 14 minutes - that's me - long times ago. Do you have more? Regards from Germany
Miz Mamie, can you please find more extensive old MRG videos. Especially from the 1970s and earlier. I know there must be some more out there. I love this, because it is from when I first became interested in Rhythmic gymnastics.
Yes, Rhythmic gymnastics has advanced, but I like these routines because they aren't so much dance. And the gymnasts have more normal looking bodies. This skinny ideal always encourages eating disorders. Then when the girl stops training, usually becomes very overweight and it's hard to lose weight because she has destroyed her metabolism, which creates another episode of eating disorders. Please lets stop this obsession with thin and promote skill and healthy. By the way, I am skinny, and no, that didn't happen to me. I got thin post menopause. I was an artistic gymnast in 1970s and was taller and sturdy, and coaches didn't like that for spotting.
one was wood and the other carpet, because not everybody had the carpet in their own facilities. So if you trained on carpet you could compete on carpet, and if you trained on wood, you could compete on wood. None was sprung
I loved her. She was my favorite even over B Galima and Irena. That was not her best. She use to toss her hoop, roll into a chest stand with legs perpendicular and catch the hoop on her legs like a ring over the post in ring toss game.
Галима Шугурова- умница,красавица!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely AMAZING video!!! Great to see old school rhythmic gymnastics and how the sport has evolved
Amazing footage! Thank you!! 42 years ago, girls performed on hard wood floors... Tough cookies!!
Wow so beautiful! Thank you 💞

this is extraordinary!!! thank you so much!!!
Would anyone agree that Galima Shugurova was the impetus for the large progression of RG to what it is now?

Why are there 2 floors? And what are the floors made of? Are they sprung?
