It's funny because the rich Venezuelans on the Joanna Hausmann videos always say that the poor don't want to study or learn. Yet once they were given the opportunity they did just that. The wealthy elite there kept the poor in check by denying them the most basic rights. They couldn't even have classes before to learn how to read and write.

Mobilization at Venezuelan Embassy in Washington, DC this SATURDAY MAY 18th at 12 noon. Check Code Pink and Answer Coalition to stay in touch. 4 Embassy Protection Collective members remain inside the Embassy morning of Wed., May 15th, and it looks like US Gov't has no idea what to do. The US coup headed by Guaido has failed, so Maduro has control of the Embassy, no matter how US Gov't pretends otherwise.

In mark 00:33 subs are wrong, she's saying that "some people talk about some "Madurismo" which doesn't exist but Chavizmo only", she's refering to the Chavez Ideology, Maduro himself is a Chavizta too who preaches that ideology, but opposition in a foolish attempt to deminish and ridiculize Maduro talks about some "Madurismo" which I repeat, there's not such thing and Maduro has never mentioned it at all. In your subs it seems that the woman is saying that "we supported Chavez but we don't support Maduro that much" and that's wrong since is not what she said.

I admire what Chavez accomplished. After seeing how the right-wing opposition behaved during the embassy siege in DC, I can see why these people don't want to go back to the way things were before Chavez. Venezuela, probably more than most Latin-American countries is a very stratified society. Criollos, who are mostly white descendants of Europeans, were at the top of the socioeconomic pyramid. They owned most of the country's wealth and means of production. Poorer, less white Venezuelans, had little or no access to education, healthcare, and political power. The revolution changed all that. The people were finally empowered, the government invested in social services which greatly benefited the lower classes. Of course the elites resent this. They just can't get over the fact that they no longer rule, like a nobility over the common people.
What the US is doing in Venezuela is a crime. They are behaving like thugs who want to impose their will on an independent country who doesn't want to be beholden to US banks and who wants the profits from their oil to benefit all Venezuelans, not just the rich ones. They are willing to break international law in the most brazen way by imposing their puppet Guaido, who doesn't have the support of the majority of Venezuelans. It is shameful. Instead of winning the friendship of the Venezuelan people by helping them out of the crisis, they are tightening the screws and making life very difficult for these hard working people whose only crime is that they want to be free and independent of US hegemony.

The people of Venezuela also elected a National Assembly by a "universal. direct, personal and secret" vote partly by direct election in state-based voting districts, and party on a state-based party-list proportional representation system. From the 2010-2015 period, they had 165 seats, and they go for 5 years. The Majority leader since January has been Juan Guaido. So he wasn't just a guy Trump dug up to install for Venezuelan oil. They had a special 2017 election that was condemned by over 40 mostly Latin American and Western States to draft a new constitution. Because of the strife between the ruling incumbent party the opposition boycotted the election a totally dumb idea I think. The incumbent Great Patriotic Pole dominated by the Socialist Party of Venezuela won almost all the seats by default. Pay attention to the details this is the death of democracy and just because you can find some people that received benefits from the government look at the 3 million that have left the country and the people that are starving. Sure you say it's because of the U.S wanting their oil I don't believe it. The oil production of Venezuela has dropped over the last 20 years because of the government taking the means of producing the oil from the companies that were producing it firing 20,000 workers and putting in replacements that supported the government. The stuff they need is wearing out and nobody to fix it.

As a Venezuelan living in Maracaibo, Zulia state I strongly wish that please inform yourself and talk to real venezuelans who had to leave their homes because of the consecuences that these corrupt politicians have bringed to my nation. The communist recipe in Venezuela is the same as the URSS with the small countries of the east, make the most part of the population dependant from government and kill the economic freedom of the people by misleading the management of the cities and states. My homewotn is ruined not by the US govt or the sanctions as this video tries to tell: IT'S ALL CAUSED BY CORRUPTION IN EVERY STAGE OF THE GOVERNMENT.
Venezuela needs the US support to restore the democracy and the well management of the most important industries such as Energy generation, Oil&Gas and Food production. The US have always been the best customer of my country for Oil, that's an undeniable truth, the lefties have a never-ending story about the US interest in the natural resources of this country... But forgot to say that China and Russia are after the same resources, with the exception that they don't care about the environment. Just look how they treat their own environment and sources of natural resources in their respective countries. Right now Chineses companys are destroying A LOT of the amazonas forest and taking out TONS of Gold, GOD THEY'RE WORST THAN THE GARIMPEIROS. Amazonas state is almost totally controlled by the military and the mobs surrounding the gold business. The green lung of the earth is being slowly killed and Nicolas Maduro's shtty government doesn't care, they're just making them richier every day and my people suffers
