- Chasing bodies on the Caracas crime beat with a reporter from El Universal.
--
While President Hugo Chavez has raked in billions from Venezuela's oil boom, the crime rate in Caracas has skyrocketed. Last year there were more violent deaths in Venezuela's capital city than in Baghdad. The crime epidemic has been so punishing that it could be the reason Hugo Chavez finally topples in the country's upcoming elections.

5 minute parts ? Just make it one damn video ffs
1unseen12 it is for the YT algorithm, which prioritizes creators that make more separate videos. It is why 5-minute crafts makes money despite being terrible....they have a team cranking them out.
@@user-qj9ye1uv8g I literally just watched a video that is 24 min long and it’s uploaded 14 years ago
Do you live here in Venezuela? Do you know the history of my country? Have you ever experienced living in danger 24/7? Have you ever had to ask for permission to your goverment to get on a plane because they won't let you use your money? This is not socialism my darling, this is a vulgar dictatorship.
Then why all the socialism countries end like this? Dumbass socialism would work if we were perfect Are we?
I hope they dont let anyone leave that country anymore.
Why megaozzy28?
@@MegaOzzy28 Why ?
Same in iran.
Damn the gravediggers in this country must be very rich
+Mark B Man.. they sure are keeping the vultures fat and happy.
Mark B it's called well off. 😏😏😏
I doubt it, since their currency is worthless.
This is sad because the country is actually really beautiful😪

I never knew VICE was in my country, well sadly everything here is true, and much worse everyday, but well, this place already died.
Venezuela sounds like Tupac songs come to life.
***** The Venezuelan people for the most part are very religious (96% are Roman Catholic) so atheism can not be seen as a reason for violence.
Maybe we are not on the same page with regard to the definition of atheism. When one is atheist, he/she denies the existence of any deities whether it be Jesus Christ, Buddha, or Zeus. If the beliefs of Catholicism does not fit into your ideological paradigm it does not mean they are atheists.
That is false Sung Seo. Roman Catholicism teaches that there is one God who is the creator of all things (not unlike other forms of Christianity) and is ultimately the entity who has final say in the fate of everyone and everything. As for your question I believe I and everyone else is in control of their own reality which is the product of our consciousness but I wouldn't go so far as to call myself a "god" in the classical sense.
Yes, a vicar meaning a representative but they still believe in the God I just mentioned. Whatever man, this discussion is going nowhere lol have a nice day.
All of the tracks are listed in the credits at the end of part 3!
Why don't you co oberate the crime rate in Trinidad with venezuela??
I like roblox
@@driftlessgaming8811 I hate Roblox.
why would you play trap beats while there is a funeral going on in the backround? thats so wrong
It's called the "play this at my funeral" meme, my friend
TheGamingParadise hahah
stfu noob do your own documentaries if you're perfect fuicking nigga
EviLLivE Gaming your family tree has an STD
if you have 2 murder per hour, you have no choice to play trap music if you wouldnt play it on a funeral going on in the background
They need judges from the dredd universe lol
Nekminute he could have just divided it by 365
Exactly
0:09 ngl this some dope remix, where can I find the original?
this makes me so sad. I grew up in caracas. it was beautiful. Now im scared when i or my father go there for trips. i pray for venezuela
Right now things are even 100 times worst, this is a very old video I can't believe it! So sad, Venezuela used to be one of the best countries in Latin America...
jai- things go inn cycles what ever the matter all over this here planet. there is violence on the roads with thousands killed. some folk use vehicles as weapons too. Jist yesterday ahh saw a new book out about a bible woman who was thrown over a bridge in Auckland city. they wrote the book on how she survived the murder attempt when she hit the cars below. personally ahh have survived been shot at and a broken neck,, and having too fight a street gang off 20 males. the worst attack ahh have had so far in my life was when 3 very dark skin togan Polynesians attack me on Queen street in midday. Ahh thought them so vicious that iff ahh ever come across them in futures ahh will ever castrate all throat cut them as ahh think they should never be a part off the human race.
EXCELENT! Thank you for this documentary from a Venezuelan :)
Where can we get a tracklist for this?
I wish this doc was longer
According to a recent Q&A with Shane Smith, they split the videos into different parts to render faster and get the content out more quickly. From what I understood they edit the content on the fly as soon as it's done. Splitting it up lets them release it earlier.
What's the song at the beginning?
thank you
Maybe your volumes up too high brah?!
what is the name of the beat at the end of the video?
At 1:43 the translation should be until now, not so far, it is a little bit misleading.
Great job with this report, I loved it
respect to reporters who don't sugar coat the news.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it faster to upload 3 shorter videos than 1 long one?
This seemed more like a first episode than the first episode.
5:10 when you have a 8000$ camera but you have a 30$ phone because you fear it could get stolen
you sir, are absolutely right
good 3 vids vice
2:19 the photographer crouching and taking pictures looks Exactly like the Mexican photographer they had on another show????
That beat goes hard
why dont they ever link the beats in their videos? also i would like to know the end beat.
that beat at the end was good lol
What the name of the beat playing in the background
Lol for some reason I was expecting some Alarma style reporters being interviewed.
You know your country is in dire straits when your police can’t even afford a padlock for the back of their mortuary van.
Damnnn! How did you know?
Having a high murder rate is one thing, but its really bad when you cant even get those numbers from the gov.
it's actually slower. they edit the whole show, then have to go and chop it up into parts, a second editing process.
I prefer them like this actually, I can watch a part now the other later, and I'm surely not missing any parts.
You're nuts man, very brave of you coming to our country.
But awesome documentary, well done.
I think they upload them first in parts and then later they put together all the parts for the extra money from ads.
Whoever did these subtitles failed. Miserably.
i love how they keep the door closed with a piece of wire
maybe adding tight beats to the police sirens might help the problem
Hey man I am really interested in knowing more about this. If it is not as bad as they show in this film, then what about those murder and crime numbers? How different is life in Venezuela to the way they show it here? Thanks for speaking the truth.
So sad what venezuela is going through these days.
oh a man has been murdered.... vice - lets play a happy music
video before tells you hes dying of cancer or sumthin like that all i heard was he has cancer
Dude, that is getting worse now!
What i want to know is why in the hell is it so loud.
>2012
>greentexting outside 4chan
shiggidy diggity doo
My Man At 0:20 Got some razer gear

crime came because of Poverty,at least the very high rate of it...It wasnt crime THEN POVERTY
I really want to work for Vice News. Also I would love to see you guys go to Cuba!
The reason is that it takes shit loads of time for youtube to render it in HD. By deviding it into three smaller videos you get the HD right the way, instead of people bithing about the quality of a 20+ minutes video who takes maaany hours to render!
Australian population 31 Oct 2015 - 23 915 619. Murders - 247. Something is seriously wrong in Venezuela.
Nz population 5million around 40-45 murders a year, this is crazy
Please change your intro.....R.I.P Headphone Users....
at least tone down the volume
To set the number in perspective I just checked the homicide rate for my country. Whereas 1 out of 1500 Venezuelans is a possible homicide victim each year, its just 1 one out of 37000 Germans at the same time. Wow! The problem seems huge!
Why are you greentexting? This isn't 4chan.
yes.
They have to edit it all, we see it much quicker this way.
I agree with you, however I thought the girl who did the doc on krocodile covered it really well.
My good friends moved out of Caracas to Panama 2 years after Chaves.
4:34 back sweat
4:34
I like the wire at 3:56, seems professional.
Nah man, Shane Smith said on the JRE. They edit it part by part.
Wow you know it's bad when your stats are worse than South Africa
yeah baby i agree with you
i agree
I like this reporter from VICE, no bullshit hipster crap trying to put a 'deeper than you realize message' on it, just giving us the goddamn info, well done.
i saw that too. they probably do edit each of these *parts* by part ie; one at a time and upload them, but you would never edit a whole doc / film "part by part" ie; on the fly and release each part before the other parts are complete because the film is a single work, a collection of all the film shot. i mean it's possible but very unusual and extremely unlikely. certainly not the "normal" way to edit a film.
Who is to Blame? See who is profiting from the problem.
One thing that might help cool down the violent deaths are some REASONABLE gun laws. I'm surprised that Chavez hasn't banned guns entirely, so that is actually a good sign that he isn't completely rotten, but it should be illegal to conceal firearms. It should be illegal to loiter outside. Drinking while carrying a firearm should be illegal. Men who have been convicted of violent crimes shouldn't be allowed to own fire arms.
they do it to generate more ad revenue.
its more profitiable to upload them separate.
however, i wish they would just all the different episodes on the same day, i dont mind clicking another link to give them money, but dont make us wait 5 days for 5 minute videos
i really do!
whats the song at the begining
@MrBigwong starving artists, never !
Feliz dia!
MORGUE --->
You forget that caracas and maracaibo hold most of the country's population alone, and the crime there is awful. I was born and raised there, and I don't even visit anymore because of the insecurity.
that intro gave me and my speakers cancer
nice calculator
Vice is letting us watch this shit for free, how about a little appreciation?
In the US you can exchange money anywhere. We sell about a million barrels a day and what have we accomplished? What the Emirates have accomplished in 40 years? No taxes, no high bills, no poverty (between locals), cheap food. Goverment help if you want to open a business, study in university locally or abroad, help when you get married, help when you have kids and so on. If you want to open a business in Abu Dhabi, currently they give you a piece of land with water (free) to grow local products
I'm from Caracas, this is very accurate, so, I don't doubt the journalist capacities of this guy, can say I actually look at it with a lot of respect, many others have tried what he acomplished, the government don't let foreign press into the country very easily as well as inner press is highly pursued by any statement that can be against the local goverment. Considering this is the true, and as you said "have close to zero knowledge" So how can you put this documentary and this work in doubt?
I wonder if the reporters are still there and how are they doing now with Hyperinflation but cash shortage. I heard crime is 100x worse.
I know. Most would.
This video shows why freedom of the press is important.
VICE isn't heavily covering on the past of Venezuelan crime, granted. From my understanding it is the present day crime of Venezuela that they are interested in. Yes, there are many countries, policies, important history points that VICE should have covered, but that should not discredit what they have done. They are merely putting light upon the issue, merely raising intrigue and incentive upon their audience, for a full brief the viewer should take it upon themselves to know more.
Yes, and in civilized society we call those people sociopaths.
Did you not just read what I wrote? Family members killed? Horrible schools? My parents sold every single thing they had to come here to live in a house with my aunt. I wish I was an elite, mate.
I love everything about Vice except the annoying/loud staticy noise in the intros, and the fact that they are dividing their videos up so many times which makes me have to hear it over and over again, in addition to being a method to bolster views.
Sad panda.
Of course not. When their ideas or hero are criticized their auditory system shuts down & soon after become defensive.
theres a few songs from our artists mr ioso and jairomendez
I freaken hate the vice news intro. Its like grinding a baby against a chalkboard.
Other than that good videos!
There seems to be a equivalent German saying which would translate something like: It's easy to ride the fire on somebody else's arse ;)
its sad that the the people there are so desensitized to dead bodies.
I agree, him and the krokodil girl are the only ones who try to do some actual journalism instead of the "1st world boy goes to 3rd world, straps on a bulletproof vest and makes sarcastic remarks on everything" piece that vice has done so many times.
Sounds about right to me!
donde esta parte tres????
+Josh Escobar parte tres es en la canal de Vice.
Don't get confused! The background dembow reggaeton on this vid is Puerto Rico style, the Venezuela reggaeton is different jajaja.
And this is not only Caracas, I live like 200 km from it and happens the same!
