Here's my version of Malagueña as recorded by The Trashmen in 1963.
The man is becoming the legend in my book. In a world of nearly endless RUclips guitar shit, you are the torch bearer of these great songs
Thank you, that means a lot!
My Mom's Favorite song besides Wipeout by the Surfaries, She passed away in 🙏 2005 🙏 REST in Peace Mom. Love your Channel and Content 👍❤
This dudes playing is something else, kudos man👍
Tom, you are an amazing guitarist! What I appreciate most about your videos is the amount of accuracy you put into your playing. There are a lot guys out there producing Surf Guitar videos, and although many of them sound good enough to pass, I have yet to discover anyone who gets every note right for every song. That is important for guys like me who suck technically, but still want to know how the actual song should be played. That makes you a great teacher.
Thank you so much!
I AGREE
Here's what we're talking about for a live cover of the song: ruclips.net/video/h_dO5L4daEg/видео.html
@@bonsummers2657 Yes, I agree! This band sounded terrific. I especially thought that the bass player was stunning.
@@Walks-With-Pride I just realized what I first posted was Point Conception '63, which they performed September 4, this year, in Moscow, on the Volga River on a boat. But I just now corrected that with their interpretation of Malaguena from 2010.
This is my favorite Trashmen song. Thanks I learned how to play it 👍
damn i've searched for this song's tabs for a long time and never found accurate ones. thanks a lot!
Awesome. Fantastic tune and well played. Thank you for sharing.
I love your surf rock covers man they are so amazing my favorite ones
Tom, I can’t thank you enough for these covers/lessons. Got my first electric guitar this week and it’s so nice to be able to learn these classic songs. You seem to have one for all my favorites, so thank you!!
Thanks for watching Chris. I’m really glad my videos are helping!
Just wanna say you post every song I can't find a proper tab for ! You make playing alot of fun and appreciate people like you that have quality taste! Thanks for being Awesome man
Great cover, The Trashmen are my favorite band of all time! Keep up the great work dude!

A very nice rendition of this tune Tom. Very nice sound and very well played as usual. Bravo. Regards, Ernie.
love these arrangements, quality work
Best version. Trashmen! Thanks!
I’ve been looking for this for months and you’re the first to put it out there without it looking like it was filmed on a potato and with the TABSSS
Tom Conlon kiváló Surf 🎸 Gitáros ❤ Valódi hangzás, valódi ember 🙋
What a song. Great performance !
Man I guess I could listen to you play all day but I have to practice what you show us with the tabs and slowed down on utube. Your BTs are of excellent quality and it has helped my guitar playing so much. Thanks for what you do, it helps us in these perilous times we live in.
I appreciate that, thank you!
Ahhh - memories, one of the first pieces I tried to learn was Bert Weedon's version of this tune. (THAT dates me!!!).
Bert recorded some great instrumentals but the one I always loved to play was '12 string shuffle' for which the music was actually published in sheet form. Those were the days when you could order up sheet music for almost everything released on 45s. I still have a shelf of over 300 examples.
I see that you have uploaded 'Can't help falling in love' which was another instrumental Bert recorded. I always loved his switch to acoustic for the middle 8.
Thanks for this upload, it brought back lots of happy memories.
The best version and you nailed the ever living hell out of it! For me the grail of surf tunes.
The most amazing instrumental tunes!!!
Dude that was kick ass🤠🎸👍

Great tab! Such an amazing song
Man, I love all your surf covers. Fantastic playing and great tabs. I’m a Gibson 335 man myself but I’m tempted to buy a Jaguar just to get that sound of yours!
Cobi Chase ok, thanks!
Cobi Chase thanks man. Just when you think you have all the guitars you need, the GAS virus strikes again 😀

Show de interpretação!!!

I know The Trashmen but never heard this. Great playin’ as always on your part Tom. PS: Bobby Fuller recorded a lot of great Surf Instro tunes as well. Most people only think The Trashmen and Bobby Fuller were one hit wonders (only had one song).
Beautiful work Tom thank you !
Cool! I'll be wanting to learn this one next.
Ahhhhh. I can actually smell the salt and the seaweed from here (my living room couch). Very nice!

Thanks a lot for the vids, really great stuff, helped me to learn a song which I otherwise wouldn't have dared to approach. Any chance of you doing Malagueña by the Tornadoes as well at some point?

Tom love your videos. Do you have a site with the background download.
Hello, great work! Where can I find the backing track? Thanks
Tom, if I ever put the band back together AGAIN, I'm going to give you a call... Thanks for posting
Muito legal. Estou tirando essas músicas com sua ajuda.
Really good tutorial tabs Can anyone else help about how Can i set this tone on mooer ge100 processor?
Oh this is the first time I've heard this song. I notice you pick really close tones to the originals. Is there a name for the part at 0:46? I heard this phrase also in some versions of Dick Dale's Misirlou and was wondering if this was a common phrase that's "quoted" from.
Dunno if you missed the question in my comment. If you don't mind letting me know if you have the answer, please do.
To my knowledge, the technique is called tremolo picking. This particular phrase is also found in Dark Eyes Twist, but played a different way. I suspect it’s a common musical phrase but I don’t know the origin of it.
@@tomcon21 I was referring to the melody specifically. I see… i didn't recall it being in Dark Eyes Twist as well. Thanks.
Nitori ShogiPlayer Do you mean the scale?
I believe it’s the Byzantine Scale, there’s other names for it...
@@nicksomma no it was the specific phrase that I see reused for various music tracks by different artists of the time.
Very nicely played! Are you playing this on a Classic Player Jazzmaster special? I ask becos I'm on the fence about buying this exact model guitar for surf and I've been reading from purists that this guitar is not an authentic JM cos of different pickups and bridge etc...however your playing on this video is convincing me that I should pull the trigger on one right away.
Yes I am playing a 2014 Classic Player Jazzmaster. I know it is not authentic to the original JM but it was affordable, looks and sounds great. Thanks!
Better then all BLack Metal!
Clean.in the pocket
Can you let's go by the ventures plsss✨✨✨✨
The ventures
Can anyone tell me what the chords are at the end? Can't figure them out for the life of me!
E6/9, F6/9, E6/9
@@tomcon21 Thank you!
👍👍👍👍
That F graphic on the second 'strum' threw me off, but I now see that's just a reference frame. But the actual frets/notes played per as you are doing, and much easier to do, are just the inner four strings as you show with your actual playing, although on the tab it shows you're on the low E to 3rd string. Hmmmm.
Hey Tom, what pedals did you use for this?
What strings you using flatwounds?
No, regular 10s
@@tomcon21 Damn sound heavy, great sound off that jazz
