It’s difficult with noc ult to know your chances of winning. If you’re the first to engage you’re often forced to flash out or at least retreat because naturally you get focused as the first enemy to engage. Faker probably relied on his team to follow his ult and finish the fights, but it didn’t always work. Also he got baited by Ryze (twice xD). He tried to follow up (first time he died - 4:15) but the second time he didnt stay in the fight until the end (see 9:45) and lived.
