Wow Rob you've done a great job on the Olds. Brilliant. Love the colour, the windows look spotless (apart from the bullet holes). Love the details especially all the chrome. Napoleon Solo & Illya Kuryakin look great and can now shot some more bad guys. And a 100%er too. Thank you mate superb job.
Glad you gave Napoleon Solo a hair transplant - he looked like he had a dodgy comb-over! There are some rare versions of the car in an off-white colour. I painted my childhood one in red and gold. Guess what colour it was to start with? Of course it was. It's a clever toy that just screams to be played with. Corgi were the masters of odd, fun gimmicks. And another 100 percenter. Nice. The end result is superb - one of your very best, to my mind. Love it.
The cream/off white version is a slightly different casting. It has no ridge on the bonnet to locate the UNCLE sticker. Also the interior is a slightly different colour. They were mostly export models for USA. Beware clever fakes if searching for an original one...
On dear Rob had a 100% paint removal you need to talk to Marty he tried it again , I thought he was going to smash the glass again PS send him a foot long😆👍
Rob I have to say this is one of my favorite cars you’ve ever done. And that’s saying an awful lot because you’ve done so many beauties. This one is “100%” an A+ job. I absolutely love the color. It sure does suit the car and if I hadn’t seen the blue underneath earlier in the video I’d have thought the color you made was the original. In fact I like it far better than the original. Just spectacular, mate!!!
100% Paint Removal! Brilliant work as always Rob. Love how it turned out. Those chrome strips down the sides can be maddening. Stay safe there with that heat. It's hot like that here in Florida, but we're used to it and our buildings are equipped for it so I can't imagine how miserable it can be. Thanks for continuing to post videos regardless of the temp.
It's been pretty hot over here too, a lot of sweaty days out fixing vending machines, training new guys, who knew after 3 years I'd be the old guy leading the way.
Second 100 % paint removal in a row! Great resto here, car colour and details. I like it and it brought me nice memories of that tv program ('El agente de CIPOL' was known here in México many years ago) 👍👏👏👏
And as the familiar duo from back in the day would say: Wow! That was cool. That was a stunner. Mate, you've done so many castings and I have seen quite many of them through your channel, but this one is so beautiful. Well done mate. Keep up the excellent work and stay safe.
I had one of these❗️ I never saw the original TV show. Don’t know how I missed it. No reruns of it in St.Louis😐. I have the entire series on DVD , now. ( This car was never used in any shows [ or movie]. The “ guy in black “ is David McCallum ( NCIS), and in the white, was played by Robert Vaughn. The car: 1961 Oldsmobile. Fantastic job, miss matched paint color- and and all. I’m glad you did a Restore on it. 📻🙂
Aww i used to have one of these when i was a nipper. It lived at my grandmas because it was a hand me down from my dad, still had the periscope and everything. I was mortified when shetold me she had packed up all the cars i had there (including a lot of original matchbox 1-75s) and taken them to the charity shop...Some kids in the Leeds area got real lucky that day...GRRRR!
💯% 👍 I actually think a lighter blue looks better. It shows off more detail. Car turned out very nice. Never saw this casting before it now. Well except on your unboxing. Hope you and your family are doing well. Stay safe.
Hi Rob,what a great video, the car at the start was all colours,it was all there, but with your knowledge, the results are superb,it looks like straight out the box.top work.
Great job Dad rebuilt one of these he picked up in the auction .. Great car. Huge trunk lol ... Your color choice very close to Dads. And good for you 100% paint removal again
My 1/2 sister bought a 1961 Oldsmobile Super 88 in 1969 for about $350.00 . It used to be my favorite car she used to have . It had a 394 cu. in. V/8 engine . The 1961 Oldsmobile Super 88 ran so much better than her 1965 Chevrolet Biscayne 265 V/6 engine ever did !! My other 1/2 sister also used to have a 1965 Chevrolet Impala with a 283 V/8 engine which ran so much better than the other 1965 Chevrolet Biscayne ever did !!
Hadn't realised that this was a specialty model; although I admire the creative paint job, I agree with you that it should be restored to original (in this case) blue. There was also a white THRUSH Buster available as well if memory serves. But I hope you're going to use the colour scheme on another model... 🙃
Dang. That was a particularly violent 100% paint removal. And a fine result! I used to see cars of that approximate vintage, with paint schemes very like the one this car had when you started, all the time when I was a kid. As body panels rusted out (and they always did), they'd get replaced with good old Junkyard Special parts in whatever color was available. I therefore dub the original version the _Man from M.A.I.N.E._ edition. :)
Brother, when I watch your vids... I do watch them all the way through! picked up the package from the post today, haven't opened it yet.... I want to share it with everyone.
Love The Man From Uncle Car, Oldsmobile Chasing A Car Full Of Punks Firing Revolvers Out Of Windows And The PUNKs Are Shooting Back But These Guys Still Go After Them Love That Action Rob!!! And I Really Love How You Kept It All Original!!! You Did Such A Good Job Of It Mate Cheers!!!
Hi Rob, great job. Just picked one of those up in a job lot. Not attempted any larger models as yet but this might be my first if I can get the missing bits for it from Steve Flowers.
Great job as always, those chrome trims and taillights makes huge difference compared to original Corgi 😎 You have made lots of 100% paint removals within last month 😀
It is 27°C here in Indiana. My house is shaded from the sun so it stays comfortable most of the time. I like four door cats. My Crown Victoria is a four door.
Honestly love your vid format, would not change a thing, keep it up... maybe do one showing how you do the details, and I apologize if you did one and I missed it.
I had no idea the mechanics were so complicated... I got one long ago, somewhen in the 80's, and it was already worn out, but fairly complete. first thing that happened was the periscope breaking off... I always repainted my toy cars back when, later started to "restore" them, and bought more at the flea markets to workover. I'd say you had revell or humbrol paint on yours. love the colour, the chrome looks awesome, and everythign seems to shine! ^^ but, maybe... did you put the periscope in backwards? I'm not sure which way around it belongs.
Thanks Mark, glad you like it mate 😎
Fantastic job, Rob. I can remember seeing this on TV when it came out back in the 60's. Nice to see this one restored. And....100% paint removal!
That was a great show on its day. The restore looks great.
Glad you gave Napoleon Solo a hair transplant - he looked like he had a dodgy comb-over!

I did consider white. Maybe if I get another

@@chrispalmer9838 - Thank you for that information - I had always thought it was just a colour variation. I'll keep my eyes peeled. 👍
On dear Rob had a 100% paint removal you need to talk to Marty he tried it again , I thought he was going to smash the glass again
PS send him a foot long😆👍
That brought back a lot of memories Rob. I faithfully watched "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." every week. The car looks spectacular. Top job.
100% paint removal. Nice one Rob. Also love the fact that the passenger moves out as you push the periscope in. Love it!
100% Paint Removal..! That is one of the best ones you've done, definitely one to be proud of mate...
Rob I have to say this is one of my favorite cars you’ve ever done. And that’s saying an awful lot because you’ve done so many beauties. This one is “100%” an A+ job. I absolutely love the color. Such a Beautiful car, brought back to life to continue the fight for UNCLE and the free world.
Another 100% paint removal!! 👍 Awesome restoration, Rob!!! That car looks beautiful!!! The periscope works great!!! 👍👍👍👍
Absolutely great result, especially in the rear bumper area. And of course it's always great to see a 100% paint removal
That blue looks like the blue on my family's 62 Oldsmobile, long gone now. Your model is a 61. Looks really great.
You out did yourself with this one .
It’s all down hill from this moment on .
SOOO KOOOOOLLLL.
Mike Espo .
Second 100 % paint removal in a row! Great resto here, car colour and details. I like it and it brought me nice memories of that tv program ('El agente de CIPOL' was known here in México many years ago) 👍👏👏👏

100% Paint Removal 👍 Nice Restoration. I used to watch repeats of the man from u.n.c.l.e in the 80s.
I had one of these❗️

I'm lucky. My hot wheels and matchbox are all there. 9 of the original sweet 16.
Beautifully done, congrats on 100%, we're showing our age with knowledge of The Man from UNCLE, thanks for a great video, Stay safe, 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻☮️🇺🇸
💯% 👍 I actually think a lighter blue looks better. It shows off more detail. Car turned out very nice. Never saw this casting before it now. Well except on your unboxing. Hope you and your family are doing well. Stay safe.
100%👍I loved Man from UNCLE. The dark haired one was Napoleon Solo and the blonde was Ilya Kuryakin. He was my favourite. Nice restoration Rob.

Wow. What a transformation. Really nice car

Excellent work Rob, and some great detail work .
Great job! Your blue is closer to the actual Olds blue from the era.
100% paint removal..looks awesome Rob
Great job on this one Rob. Even sorted out the guys lockdown haircut.
Our temperature here in Texas is just about as hot as your 100 per cent paint removal. Great job
100% paint removal. Very nice job on the restoration.
Nice restoration and paint job 👌
very good restoration, perfect. I would like to know if it is a chevrolet impala because it looks a lot like the length of the trunk. perfect rob.
It's a early '60s Oldsmobile Super 88
Brother, when I watch your vids... I do watch them all the way through! picked up the package from the post today, haven't opened it yet.... I want to share it with everyone.

Another great job rob👌100% paint removal 👍
it looks great. the paint might be light but it really looks good on that car
Very nice and I'm with you on the classic 4 doors car.
Great job!!!! The result is amazing.
I had one of these as a kid. I didn't have the Man from u.n.c.l. though. Mine was blue with a white stripe. Had loads of these old Corgi toys once.
Nice car man,,,,really nice finishing. I love it

Great Job!!! Wonderful "new" Car! 👍👍👍
Love the big body cars ( I.e. 4-Door cars) excellent job, love the color.
💯 paint 🎨 removal. Nice 👍🏻 restoration- I had this as a kid. May need to find a replacement
It is 27°C here in Indiana. My house is shaded from the sun so it stays comfortable most of the time. I like four door cats. My Crown Victoria is a four door.
Nice one Rob👍 welcome to the world of Corgi 😉
Thanks Bob, hope you are well mate
Matchbox Garage yes Rob not too bad thanks mate 🙂
100% paint removal...100% liked!
The idea of bottled hotdogs makes my blood run cold. 55 years of life and I have never seen bottled hot dogs.
You did a fantastic job!
I'm with you Rob about the ysnk tanks. Would much prefer a four-door land yacht than a coupe.
Looks great! But nothing more satisfying than a 100% paint removal!! 😁👍🏻
i always loved that show and when they did the reboot move i really enjoyed it i wish they would do another one
You achieved 100% paint removal, but does it even count since we didn't get a swishy swish?
Great job again Rob👍🏻
Great restoration. Didn't show the guy leaning out action. Cool toy.
Bill
At the end
Honestly love your vid format, would not change a thing, keep it up... maybe do one showing how you do the details, and I apologize if you did one and I missed it.
Very nice restoration. I really enjoyed watching ur video. Just subscribed to ur channel 👍😊
100% keep them coming...nice work 👍👍👍❤️❤️👏👏👏👏
100% baby! Nice work Rob!
nice work! looks great after a respray.id love to see you do a corgi 261 bond car!
Well done Rob. 🙂
Stay cool my friend 👍
Oh.. and 100 % paint 🎨 removal 😉
Awesome job my friend
That silver blue is actually close to a GM color for that year 1961 on full size Oldsmobiles, Pontiacs, Buicks and Chevrolet's.
I had no idea the mechanics were so complicated... I got one long ago, somewhen in the 80's, and it was already worn out, but fairly complete. first thing that happened was the periscope breaking off... love the colour, the chrome looks awesome, and everythign seems to shine! ^^ but, maybe... did you put the periscope in backwards? I'm not sure which way around it belongs.
Actually I had the periscope facing forward to start but all pictures showing it backwards. It's not fixed and works both ways
@@MatchboxGarage really? I had no idea... have to check my corgi collectors guide, I always thought it should point forward. shows what I know... XD
Are we watching the first few releases of the MB Garage Entertainment Series? Great work, Rob. -David
