- The LEGO Star Wars Summer 2020 AT-AT has been completely redesigned from the ground up! A cockpit that can now fit 3 Minifigures (General Veers & 2 AT-AT Drivers), a winch to hoist Luke up to the belly of the AT-AT, & speeder storage are among the new and exciting upgrades. The set sells for $160 with 1,267 pieces and has received much criticism for its "skinny legs". Is it worth the price if you don't own one, buying it over the coveted 75292 Razor Crest, or upgrading from an older LEGO model?

One thing that I noticed with the newer sets is that lego is definitely starting to experiment with S.N.O.T techniques, which is a step in the right direction

Actually the Imperial Forces during The Battle of Hoth were made up of Clones from the 501st Legion.
Wouldn’t they have been in there 70s though? Either way, future stormtroopers should have different faces.

@Tanimation No... hell no... i hate those black heads, you can't take the helmet off. Which is just... why? This way I can take the helmet off and they look cool.
Best one yet. The inclusion of two pilots plus two seats for them and room for General Veers behind them is great. Plus two regular snow troopers and Luke snow speeder pilot outfit? Definitely the best choice of mini figure selection for this set by Lego and the best printing and quality in these figures that have existed before. This should be the standard for all future AT-ATs.

To anyone unaware, the speeder bike included in the set is the same type of speeder bikes utilized by the scout troopers in the Mandalorian
How come they say the snow speeder isn't available even tho I just bought one at Kohl's
Gotta say, I do think the old snowtrooper design with the built-in backpack on the hood was actually better than this new version... although I do love how they have finally given them multiple different faces underneath!

This should definitely be more expensive due to a semi-larger size, more minifigures, and a big redesign, but $160 is a bit much. I think $130-140 would be ideal.

Well inflation brings the price of the last one to $130. And their is about 100 more pieces and another minifigure. So $140 would have been perfect.

OH MY GOD, Angry Clone is actually gone! All we need now is a confirmation that First Order Troopers will no longer be using the face going forward and we would have succeeded
After maybe one more wave of TROS sets I doubt we'll see them much. TROS was disliked by fans and critics alike, similarly to AOTC. In the case of AOTC, they didn't make any more sets based on it until 2013. TFA and TLJ might get new sets, which'll probably use new heads, but similar to other prequel movie sets they'll be spread out through the years.
@@hobowithanoboe Attack of the clones was in a unique situation though. The clones from that movie only appeared in Episode 2, they were immediately replaced for Episode 3
But between 2008 and 2013 we had Clone Wars sets, consisting of Phase 1 clones in the Clone wars format, meaning that a lot of Attack of the clones sets were made there instead. Such as the Solar sailor which technically was a clone wars set based on the 2nd battle of geonosis but was indistinguishable from Episode 2.
The First Order though were present in all 3 sequel trilogy movies and Resistance, and aside from a small update to the helmets which will likely be retconned backwards,their appearances remained constant.
Lego is showing us that they're moving away from waves based on one movie or show in particular, that's why in this wave alone we've gotten Clone Wars sets, Rise of Skywalker sets, Episode 3 sets, Episode 5 sets, Episode 6 sets, Mandalorian sets. If this were 2013 or 2008, that would be 100% Episode 2 or TCW. Even when there's been a new Disney movie out the waves have been more balanced
And Sequel based content now makes up 1/3 of the saga movies, or 1/4 of the movies overall, with 25% of the current shows in star wars also being in the ST. So with the more balanced approach, I'm sure we'll see them pop up every now and then

Hey ryan in your review I wanted to mention that the buffer in the neck feature is a beautiful play feature. If you remember, in rogue on there is a scene where haze map is takes a rocket launcher and fires right at the head and the at at stutters and the head recoils from the explosion and returns to its original state, I love that detail!
I was reminded of the that scene too! Although it is Baze Malbus (idk if that was an autocorrect thing or...)

For anyone that's also lost on how to tie the Lego strings and getting them not to untie, try using a simple fishing hook knot, my dad did it for me when I was little and now I do it every time I get the rope. The tricky part is getting the rope to stay when it's part of the the gear piece, like on back of the snow speeder, but a fishing hook knot usually does the trick

I think the mini snowspeeder scales perfectly with this set. The bigger ones look much nicer but are too big to display in a diorama. The smaller ones fit underneat the foot of this walker perfectly.

I remember spending almost an hour trying to get the rope through the hook on the Battle for Ninjago City. I almost threw the little tree it came with on the floor. I think I never finished that set actually.

I think this set is very good as a base ATAT. I could see the detailing becoming much better with a little bit of after market editing

I just got this set a few days ago at Target and I love it, it was the last on the shelf, I’m so glad I picked this up, it is definitely worth the $160, one of my favorite sets!!!
I wish they did this with the 2014 star destroyer. I was holding the handle to display it and it bumbed into a shelf and it all shattered

I like how it's one of those vehicles you can use for any planet battle. You could just remove the hoth troopers, and you'll be sweet

Actually there are alot of websites (at least in my country) selling it for 126- 140 bucks so when it comes to this set I recommend not buying off the lego website

The fact that everything fits in the at-at itself is great for shelving or displaying when you dont want those tiny sidebuild.
I really like having different faces for the troopers it gives them more personality and since there reused it doesn’t cost anything.
This plus the 4+ snowspeeder would actually make a cool moc. The snow speeder would be accurately scaled to the ATAT plus if you buy 2 of them you get 2 more snow troopers and another speeder to put Luke in.
The 80 bucks is from the AT AT the 20 bucks is from the minifigures and the rest is what you have to pay

Minifigs looking good. Would like to maybe see more imperial army/atst driver/technician dudes in that sand blue. I kinda want them to go back to giving stormtroopers the black balaclava w/ face heads like previous stormtroopers/clones have gotten. Think thats the best version of trooper faces

Might pick this up, yesterday I was out shopping looking for some deals and found the Hoth action battle set for £12.50 (I’m from the UK) and picked it up, tempted to buy another one soon!

This was super helpful this is my first ever AT-AT and I love it
On the one hand, good review. On the other hand - almost everything you gave credit to this At-At as far as fixing design problems, the 2014 one already did it. The head attachment, the sturdiness of it, and the double hinge system on the neck, was already a problem that was resolved in 2014. There was also no problems whatsoever with lifting the 2014 one by grabbing the side of the hull. Also the 2014 one had an opening hatch underneath, although I will admit it was a bit larger and less accurate. 2014 also didn’t have almost any dark grey on the legs either.

I think the reason for the gaps on the top of the body on the ATAT near its head is to give it a curve cause the other plates on the sides are also coming in towards the neck.

I definitely want to get this for my birthday, I've always wanted an AT-AT and really this is the perfect chance for me.
Just got this set today and I highly recommend it. It took me roughly 6 hours to build and I did preorder it on amazon when it was going for £139 and I know it’s going for 160 now that it’s past it’s release date but o still think that it is a great set both as a display piece and a play set 10/10
I am so incredibly impressed how excellent this set looks. An AT-AT has always been on my radar, and none of captured the look completely for me. Until now.
