Haha Florida's not that bad as a whole. I live in Tampa Bay area, there's a few places to stay out of. Gotta stay away from Miami, spots in Orlando. But all and all it's not terrible. Plus we have a lot of guns so we take care of ourselves mostly lol
Conversations I didn't expect to have as a parent no. 356: explaining what S&M safe words are to my 12 year old by replacing S&M with 'tickling fight' She occasionally sits in while I watch these streams either live or later on VoD and, most of the time, it's not a problem as I'm not worried about swearing - she hears it all in school anyway - and the team keep things to a level that would be acceptable pre-watershed on UK TV. Again, she'll generally hear worse in school anyway! I wasn't quite expecting Jackbox to throw up S&M references in a casual party game though and after a moment's hesitation, I was pretty proud of how I managed to quickly come up with the tickling fight analogy and using a safe word to when you really, really want a sibling or friend to stop tickling you! :-) Another one to add to the 'teach kids consent in an age appropriate way from the very start' toolbox! Incidentally, I've already discussed, with her and her older sister, using adapted forms of safety tools from tabletop gaming like X cards and arms crossed the chest during both play fights, sibling and sibling/parent arguments, and family discussions. We're a neurodivergent family, emotions can be complicated, hard to express, and it's easy for anyone of us to become quickly overwhelmed and no longer be able to speak. Knowing we have these tools and actually remembering to use them isn't at all easy by any means but we have to start somewhere!

There’s actually a type of ice cream called Bum Bum here in Germany! I think it’s supposed to look like a tennis racket with a bright red, sugary coating - taste-wise it’s a mix of vanilla and strawberry, and the stick is made of chewing gum. It’s really nostalgic for most people my age, aaand now I kinda want one, even though it’s really never quite as good as it was when I was a kid. Anyway, this was a great video, perfect after the stressful day I’ve had, though I’m a little sad I could not see it live. Maybe next time 😊

They're in the comic book series "Invincible," and reappear in the new Amazon Prime series based on it. The first Darkwing IS a pastiche of Batman, so Andy is correct, and his fellow Guardians of the Globe are also mostly knock-off Justice League members (War Woman = Wonder Woman, Aquarius = Aquaman, Red Rush = The Flash, Green Ghost = Green Lantern, Martian Man = Martian Manhunter). There's no 1-to-1 'Superman' analogue, though. Both the Immortal, and Omni-Man qualify for that in different ways (though they both only have the 'flying brick' powers, not the heat beams, ice breath, or x-ray vision, and neither are nearly as invulnerable as Supes). There's also Black Samson who's most analogous to Shazam/Captain Marvel, but he's absent from the team at the series' start. I'm not going to say any more since I HIGHLY recommend reading the comics (as well as the other related series: Brit, Capes, Tech Jacket, the Astounding Wolf-Man, Guarding the Globe, Invincible Universe, and the two Invincible Presents limited series) since it's one of the best self-contained superhero stories I've read. Not perfect, and maybe too dark & bloody for some (it gets GORY. Seriously. If it were live-action, it'd be rated NC-17 for gore.), but it's really damn good.
And Nightwing is the ORIGINAl Robin, Dick Grayson, after he stops being Robin. The second Robin, Jason Todd, dies, comes back to life and becomes Red Hood. The third, Tim Drake, has been Red Robin, Stephanie Brown resumes her original identity as Spoiler, Damien Wayne was "Red Bird" for a while when his mom put a hit out on him, and Carrie Kelley the alternate-future Robin of the 'Dark Knight Returns' becomes "Catgirl" in its absolutely TERRIBLE sequel 'The Dark Knight Strikes Back'. (The less said about 'The Dark Knight III: The Master Race,' the better.) That's not counting the Earth 2 alternates, reboot alternates, evil alternates, etc. They've done it a bunch with villains, too. Part of why I could only ever be a casual, surface-level DC fan. Just too confusing to keep track of. Marvel's not completely innocent about this sort of thing, but they've at least avoided having quite so many reboots, and have done it, for the most part, less often than DC has, so it's easier to keep track of (except for versions of the Squadron Supreme, but those are intentional JLA knock-offs, so it goes with the territory, I suppose). Marvel has its own serious issues, but at least I can mostly keep track of who's who.

42:00 - There actually is a superhero named "Darkwing," two of them, in fact (one was the original's sidekick and took the name later). They're in the comic book series "Invincible," and reappear in the new Amazon Prime series based on it.
The first Darkwing IS a pastiche of Batman, so Andy is correct, and his fellow Guardians of the Globe are also mostly knock-off Justice League members (War Woman = Wonder Woman, Aquarius = Aquaman, Red Rush = The Flash, Green Ghost = Green Lantern, Martian Man = Martian Manhunter). There's no 1-to-1 'Superman' analogue, though. Both the Immortal, and Omni-Man qualify for that in different ways (though they both only have the 'flying brick' powers, not the heat beams, ice breath, or x-ray vision, and neither are nearly as invulnerable as Supes). There's also Black Samson who's most analogous to Shazam/Captain Marvel, but he's absent from the team at the series' start.
I'm not going to say any more since I HIGHLY recommend reading the comics (as well as the other related series: Brit, Capes, Tech Jacket, the Astounding Wolf-Man, Guarding the Globe, Invincible Universe, and the two Invincible Presents limited series) since it's one of the best self-contained superhero stories I've read. Not perfect, and maybe too dark & bloody for some (it gets GORY. Seriously. If it were live-action, it'd be rated NC-17 for gore.), but it's really damn good.
And Nightwing is the ORIGINAl Robin, Dick Grayson, after he stops being Robin. The second Robin, Jason Todd, dies, comes back to life and becomes Red Hood. The third, Tim Drake, has been Red Robin, Stephanie Brown resumes her original identity as Spoiler, Damien Wayne was "Red Bird" for a while when his mom put a hit out on him, and Carrie Kelley the alternate-future Robin of the 'Dark Knight Returns' becomes "Catgirl" in its absolutely TERRIBLE sequel 'The Dark Knight Strikes Back'. (The less said about 'The Dark Knight III: The Master Race,' the better.)

...those are all the Robins I know of. Knowing DC, there are probably a couple other super obscure ones. Some of the 'other' Batmen like Chief Man-of-Bats probably had their own Robin-esque partners, but I don't know all that weird Silver Age stuff.
DC does a LOT of that Legacy/shared code-name stuff. There have been four or five Superboys, at least three Supergirls, four Wonder Women, three or four Wonder Girls, at least five Batgirls, three or four Batwomen, at least six Batmen, something like a dozen Flashes, literally hundreds of Green Lanterns (and seven human ones), two or three Atoms at least, several Hawkmen/Hawkgirls/Hawkwomen, two Steels, at least two Green Arrows, at least two Black Canaries, three or more Huntresses, three Blue Beetles, at least two Firestorms, four or five Doctors Fate, I believe at least three Aqualads, and those are just the HEROES I can think of off the top of my head! That's not counting the Earth 2 alternates, reboot alternates, evil alternates, etc. They've done it a bunch with villains, too. Part of why I could only ever be a casual, surface-level DC fan. Just too confusing to keep track of.
Marvel's not completely innocent about this sort of thing, but they've at least avoided having quite so many reboots, and have done it, for the most part, less often than DC has, so it's easier to keep track of (except for versions of the Squadron Supreme, but those are intentional JLA knock-offs, so it goes with the territory, I suppose). Marvel has its own serious issues, but at least I can mostly keep track of who's who.
