I am stacking the queens beast platinum series I have all current releases!
I've been very bullish on Platinum since 2019. My call in 2019 for Platinum to hit U.S.$1,300/oz by the close of 2020 was only 45 days off.......thanks, I'm convinced, to the disastrous global economic shutdowns in 2020.

I have 10oz of platinum and was thinking of buying more. Gold and silver are pretty bland right now and no big swings in price are happening. Platinum is cheap compared to it's high and has a long way to go! You keep telling us how hard it is to sell platinum which I find puzzling as supply and demand will take care of that theory. There will be a day when dealers will be begging for sellers of platinum.

Platinum suffers from the same problem as silver here in the UK - 20% VAT. So unless you get it secondhand you are down 20% down before you start. Plus difficult to sell, not for me then.
Yeah, your masters over there make sure the peasants won't entertain the idea to acquire platinum or silver.

Today I found out that as the spot price of platinum has gone down since last time I checked but the price of American Platinum Eagle Coin goes up by about the same amount. It doesn't make any sense.

Platinum has been the most stupid thing I've added to my stack. I've had platinum for over 3 years and it has only just gone over the premium price I paid to a break even price. It moves too slowly and with the potential down turn in the production of combustion engines in the future I cant justify adding any more platinum to my stack.
I personally stack what ever is closest to spot, but I enjoy a variety so I have all the sovereigns, maples eagles koalas platypuses etc...

Best way to purchase platinum is second-hand in my experience. Very low premiums on the secondary market compared to dealer premiums. Additionally, no tax on platinum second-hand either

All of the Platinum I accumulated overtime I traded last year for gold, as I got a decent premium over spot for my trade
The platinum coins are impressive. The " squeeze and raid " served the big players well. They still have control over the Spot prices keeping them Flat and Lower. The obscene spreads and unrealistic prememiums for the retail buyers and newbies are stuck with the results.
I fail to see how lots of dealers NOT trading in Platinum is some sort of negative aspect of owning the metal. Irrelevant as far as I’m concerned...
Because the lack of businesses out there willing to buy it off you at short notice (like with silver and gold) is a lot less.
@@BackyardBullion Well. There are also fewer places to buy and sell a Ferrari than a Toyota. And yet nobody seems to have any trouble buying or selling a Ferrari. Your whole premise is meaningless. There is no problem. Let me know if you want to sell any platinum!
20% over spot price puts me off. I prefer to get exposure through an ISA using WisdomTree's fund because I'm bullish on the metal because of its role in hydrogen fuel cells. Also South Africa supplies over 70% and the country is afflicted by power cuts, strikes and under investment in mines

Nice coins. I'm too poor to buy an ounce, but I managed to get a tenth-ounce platinum Britannia at a premium that wasn't horrible. All too often, the premiums seem too high, but you explained the reasons for that well.
If you want a tight market where the price can soar... look no further. Platinum is in low supply. Don't believe me? Look for yourself. Hardly anyone did discusses this fact. Plus as a bonus it is difficult to fake due to its obvious density. People who hold platinum know this. Cheers.

Not in the market at the moment, but I might consider some Platinum in the future, the price is largely supported by it's use as a catalyst in the Auto industry, there is always the possibility that someone could invent some exotic material that mixes with or replaces platinum to limit it's usage, and the price could fall, but there is always a risk with everything, and of course, Platinum could go up in Price, who knows, Good for a bit of diversity I think.

I have no problem buying platinum while its cheaper than gold cause im going to hold on til platinum is around 2x gold down the road and swap it into gold.

i bought it because i think it costs more to mine it right now and theres no tax on it in canada. Silver is a beautiful white metal, and platinum just looks like steel. Its ugly to be honest. The weight is cool but not too noticeably different from gold unless you were holding a lot maybe.
