- Wow! What a journey it has been with making this reaction video! There are so many people to thank. First and foremost, thank you to my wife for encouraging me to do this, and coordinating with the majority of our friends to ask them if they would like to partake in this reaction video, and for being my audio producer and assistant producer. I couldn't have done it without your massive help!
Also, thank you to our dear friends who took 2 to 3 hours out of their day to be filmed for this reaction video of the first episode of @TheChosenSeries ... even though everyone was totally not expecting a religious series. Thank you to Phil, Chef Mark, Seth, Justin, Katherine, ate Genita, Lara, Jay, Janella, and Karla for being yourselves and giving your honest opinions for this video. You guys are brave and entertaining. My apologies to Jay, Janella, and Karla for losing your guys' footage. I'll check with y'all if you want to do another episode in the future.
Also, thank you to my Mom and Dad, ate Melody and kuya Rito, Phil, Shannon and kuya Wendell for allowing to turn a portion of your homes or congregation into a mini studio.
Last but not least, thank you to Karla and Beth for your tireless and excellent help in setting up the recordings, capturing everything, and sending the files to us over in the Philippines. Your guys' hard work did not go unnoticed and this project would not be the same without y'all.
This video is dedicated to the memory of my childhood friend, Justin Collins, who sadly passed away shortly after being filmed in this reaction video. He will be greatly missed and may he rest in peace.

I liked that those who spoke less were obviously paying attention, engrossed in it. The guys who talked over a lot of stuff probably weren't gonna be interested in this type of show anyway. It's like the parable of the sower... you can scatter seed, but if it falls on hard ground it won't take root.
Some people think they are smarter and know better than everyone else 😂 They need to be humbled

I hope you continue this. It's interesting to see the perspectives of people with different levels of familiarity with the story. Since Jesus isn't in the first 2 episodes very much, I hope you do at least the first 3.

I’m sorry for your friend Mr. Collins. He seemed to be very open to the show. This show has changed so many people’s lives and I hope it did something good for him before he passed. I don’t try to assume anything but from the little context I got from his parts in this video it seemed he had a hard life. His smile and openness of joy in this little bit I saw of him seems to point that he would have watched more and I hope he did. It would have worked wonders and he would have a huge testimony. May you rest peacefully brother.

I binged this show with my family during the lockdown and it has done so much for us spiritually. I hope your friends end up feeling the same way. I always tell people to stay with it to episode 5 and you'll be so glad you did because that's where it really pulls you in.

This was great. I liked the guy in the North Face jacket. Dallas said that he is trying to get people to feel the story. To relate it to our lives. It is funny that he saw people he knew in the characters because a lot of us did. I really hope you all watch more. It is on the fourth season.

Hi! I enjoyed watching their reactions! It drew laughter and tears. Especially the guy who mentioned the bag of stones as gold 😂 But seeing the different walks of life and how different the responses were but at the same time all came together at the end with sentiments and how it touched everyone’s hearts was great. The power of Jesus/Yahweh ❤ has to those who are open is a beautiful thing to watch!!!

I enjoyed the reaction for the most part. It helps if people don't talk so much because they miss important events. I get there are questions, but I think they would comprehend more if they left it to the end. I am a huge fan, and I enjoy seeing people react who's never seen the show. Keep it going, new sub!
Or better yet, allow them to pause it and ask questions so they aren't confused the whole time. So many of them didn't know what Shabbat is... kind of a big deal.

This is the first reaction video that I have watched through. I was captivated by the various comments. I notice the men did more talking (except one), while the women were more absorbed. Very good.

I binge watched this show for the first two season and began rationing on the third and completed watching the 3 season a couple months ago which is all that was available prime. Lol I saw this reaction video of the first eposode so I appreciated those that were vocal during the viewing just as much as those who watched in silence. I can they had no idea what they are getting themselve into so I get that they were under the influence which is difficult to not be social and Im alright with that because I like hearing their live perspective making the first episode fun to watch again. I was surprised by Justin's commentary the most because I thought he was going to be dismissive of the show the most but he turned out to the most interested in watching another eposode along with the lady that wept. He seemed like a genuine person and sad to know he passed away shortly after filming, may he rest in peace. I love all the other friends' reaction too. I cant wait to watch season 4. You dont have to believe in God to enjoy this show but watching the show could help brkng the understanding of the people who believe much more than in the religion itself which many atheist know alot about. I just like how Jesus teaches us to love your enemies. I feel humbled and aware that I cant know everything but we can love each other better once we all see each other equally if we just learn to quit judging others.

Yes, great video. Hopefully they will be willing to watch more and give reactions. The Chosen is about the Disciples' {possible} lives which gives us the ability to feel closer to those who wrote the New Testament. It's a brilliant idea for a show & the show tries to be accurate with scripture in what is said and done. As for the Disciples' lives the show is taking liberties. It's a beautiful show & many people are starving for this information.

I would not mind watching more reactions of the Chosen. It is a good series for nonbelievers and believers alike. I watched it all through 4 seasons recently and I dig it. I am not christian, but I related to lots of it. Some of them probababyl continued watching it, so even if you do not share more, it might be enough .). Btw Nicodemus in first series was my favourite character. He was so relatable. So was Simon and Matthew. Take care. Peace.-

It was interesting. I noticed the women were more quiet while watching. I am Catholic and very religious. I was glad to see it had a positive impact on most of them. I watch The Chosen myself. Glad to hear they might look at more. :)

I also feel like it is interesting to see Rome thru this show - theres this weird stereotype of conservative men thinking of Rome everyday or some crap - and that society is about to spiral in the west like Rome did - but seeing them in this way - controlling these religious people so often - controlling the entire region - WHILE the Pharoisse over-complicate the lives of the same people Rome is controlling - really show you that both sides were just as overbearing as the other - they BOTH sacrificed animals to their various Gods - and murder people whenever they felt it appropriate (either when they question Romes' authority, or spit at a stupid man-made law - made by the Pharoisse, that they saw as sacred).

I love The Chosen, but it certainly starts slowly as it establishes our characters. Even though the ending of this episode is one of the best ever, I can understand how some people may not commit after just seeing episode 1.
I think I have decided that if I had one shot to show a friend an Episode of The Chosen, I would probably show S1E6. It has two miracles (Leprosy & Paraplegic), all the characters, some conflict and no spoilers.

Just stumbled across this & as i really enjoy the Chosen, decided to watch along. I have mixed feelings as it seems some here didn't take it seriously & missed an opportunity to be impacted. However, they did watch it through so a seed was planted. If they were to be more attentive, they would carch what the series is about.

best show ive ever watched? Id just seen clips of it for so long - and never knew it was ALSO on HULU! and then - their season 4 is on their own site - I PRAY they instead put ads on their website, and upload seasons 5-7 on their site too, but idk what their plans are for that. I usually just rewatch all the same shows - so its been lovely to take a chance on this show, and be open to Jesus more and more, and see the bible come to life in this way ✝
I apologize if I'm misunderstanding your comment, but I wanted to let you know that all of the seasons are free on their site the chosen.tv ... And they still need to film seasons 5-7. So, the rest of the seasons will eventually be on their site for free. So, no need for Hulu if you're looking to save money. Enjoy watching and rewatching seasons 1-4 until season 5 comes out. I'm glad you're enjoying the show because I am too. 🤙

The arrival of jesus in this episode is so epic and I love the fact that they choose to keep him out of every episode of the first season until right toward the end of the episode. I think that he has his first major role in an episode in episode 4 or 5. But before that he just shows up to do grand things right at the end and it's always emotionally a punch right in the gut in the best and the worst of ways.
The sound design and score for the show is the best I have ever come across. That deep bass when jesus's hand comes down on hers is all the verification you need to know that the big guy just arrived. And I'm not talking about that cheater Biden.

Great question! To borrow a line from the show, "soon." 😂 But if I'm being totally honest, since there's a lot of scheduling, travelling, and editing involved, probably in a month or 2? I'd actually love to do every episode, it will just take some time.
Jesus is the truth the way and life i went thrue same thing as Mary and Jesus just came pull me out of the mud from someone who was violent going into fights and stuff, doing drugs, women, lust, anxiety, depression pretty dark period of my life i just couldnt deal with my self anymore so i went to a confession after like 30 years and it just happend i was healed i was free from drugs, agression, lust, depression everything i even started helping people i was new man Jesus is the king

Very good point! I agree! I love it though because it gets me to study what is in the scripture and what is not. For example in S1E8 at the well, when the apostles come back with food for Jesus. And Andrew says, "Who bought you food?" with his mouth full, I totally thought that was added in there by the writers to make it funny. But sure enough it was in the scriptures. 😂😂
