Due recently Victory Day event premium aircraft discount, I got J8M by gold coin finally :)
This is a quite fun plane, combined extremely advantage and disadvantage. So I need to consider different way to control the mustang...
**** Advantage ****
* Excellent acceleration and climb rate
* Top ceiling performance
* Excellent Top speed
* Equipped with large caliber cannon
* Tiny body and hard to hit
**** Disadvantage ****
* Poor turning performance, unable to fight with light fighters or multirole fighters
* Short range cannon and easy overheat
* Low HP
* Very easy to catch fire
In generally, you can fly it as a heavy fighter. Use high speed to approach and attack enemy, and then "fly straight up with booster" to escape.
Even the plane maneuverability is not well, but good enough dogfight with heavy fighter.
Due the low HP, you need to carefully handle bomber and attacker rear guns, and avoid fire to enemy face to face.
Arika Akane is good pilot option for the plane. Hunter's Grip can make the 30 mm cannon use more easier.
For equipment, I suggest equip with Navigational Radio with terrain paint to reduce detect range by enemy. It can reduce enemy reaction time to against your BZ tactics.
This plane is quite good, and fit for experienced players.

Excellent. I was thinking about purchasing this using last weekend's sale, but than decided to go for the J-21RB instead. I'm hoping for the high-tier Japanese heavies to come.

I call shenanigan's!!! lol that was badass I've tried to play and master that j8m but most ive killed was 8 In pre 2.0 that plane was a heavy fighters nightmare but i struggle i like your build with navigational radio definitely gonna try on other planes as well ive never even used nav radio before lol shows why i suck yet one of my strategies but difficult habits to learn sometimes in heavies is hold off a couple seconds and get as close as possible before pulling trigger cuts planes in half in a couple pops with cannons and if combo with machine guns those turn into chainsaws
Your even using basic ammo! wonder if that maybe a possible advantage with big guns or blue ammo due to maybe better crit damage

I think they should add a cockpit view rather than just zooming on the target when engaging in a dog fight.

у меня на RU сервере пульки четко заходят в самолеты , но ,большая часть выстрелов урона не наносят, уже по приколу летишь на хвосте у противника и считаешь на какой выстрел проходит урон на j8m ), а так машина фановая.
