Clarification (Official TL:DR) - "AERO is humidity resistant, but there is not a humidity-resistant coating spray put on. Humidity resistance comes from naturally hydrophobic material + testing with layers to not trap moisture." Correction - I misunderstood TheWhale's tweet about the 4114 Fabric Prototype and explain in the video that it IS a prototype when its allegedly a similar fabric on a different pad. Sorry for my misunderstanding.
TheWhale further clarified that the fabric was 1:1 compared to the proto I thought. I guess it's hard to say unless anyone has had the pad for that long though to see it break down? I'm a little hesitant for the long term durability as a result but it's hard to say since TheWhale makes some great stuff but also doesn't seem to be the most reliable in terms of things he says. Tunez from padsmith chimed in and seems like both of them have concerns with the weave
@@tinypickle regardless of if the samples they have are the same/similar to what the aero has, they are right about the weave conerns. this is something that pads like the Saturn Pro and Artisan, do very well.
@@skte sorry what do you mean that Artisan and the Saturn Pro do well at? And yeah I think realistically I have a raiden xsoft already I should just stick with that. It doesn't seem like something slightly more controlled exists without long term durability concerns yet. And I've heard some people have had issues with the Raiden as well with that but I haven't seen them yet. It can get dirty quickly though
feels very similar to the empress or superglide as its that same style of glass pad but is definitely quieter than other glass pads. the empress, glaze, and superglide all feel the same speed wise. only glass pads i own that feel different are the skypad 3.0 and sonar
@@UpgradeLemonade if it was like $30 - $35 a lot of these issues wouldn't be a problem for me but you're asking for the same price as a frickin LGG Saturn Pro. i have and will be receiving more unreleased pads that 100x better for the same price or cheaper and it just makes the AERO impossible to recommend
Hi Skate, thank you for this review. I'm looking for assistance in finding a pad with lower static friction than the Energon and not as low as the raiden. What speed mousepad would you recommend that fits in between them? Thank you.
havent tried the energon or used the raiden in years. infinite speed may be ideal but because i dont know the friction of either, i dont know what to suggest
@@skte All good man, I just ordered the Lidar based of your review and a couple others, how does that mousepad compare to something like the Aero or Raiden?
from what I've tried, definitely the Infinite Speed from InfinityMice. I made a video on their v1 from a while back but it's very similar to the AERO and its only $35. fully recommend
first review of this pad that isn't glazing it the whole vid. thanks for the honesty and pointing out the flaws
thats what i gotta to do as a reviewer
I love how honest you are about this. Sadly shipping to EU would make this pad 120 dollars...
just not worth it
You got maxgaming
still not worth wasting your money on it@@cordoz

@@tinypickle i mean that the two examples i listed are good at having high quality weaving that isn't so tightly knit that the fibers get as impacted.
what a great review man, keep it up

Would you say the Gamesense Lidar is close to the Aero in terms of Initial friction?
Did they fixed the inconsistencies of the pad?
no idea
I saw you got the glaze in aim adepts recent vid. How is it! I heard its slightly more controlled than other glass pads!

ty, skypad sora full sleeve in a small
great review, i have one question though, what webcam do you use to record your top-down view?
i use a Sony NEX-5T for all of my RUclips recording. My webcam is the Logitech C920 Pro HD
I use a 20mm Prime Lens as well
Hyped creator pad with a design on it 🥱
glad we feel the same

Infinite speed is an amazing recommendation, unbeatable at that price range. Based rec, skate.
Great honesty thank you - I don't buy ANY, cloth pads which do not come flat packed, ever. ANY. EVEER. It's near 2024 lolol.... not 2011. Zowie.
it doesnt matter for zowie with their rubber bases as itll just flatten out. the problem is when you do it to other bases
