It’s great to see such a nice safe place to ride the local authorities should be congratulated for building it, a lot of local government don’t appreciate the benefits of cycling to the community. As you have shown, a great ride with friends makes you smile, a lot.😁🚴♂️🚴♀️
Looks like a fun ride! Also at 10:02, the buildings in the Planet of the Apes were actually two different buildings called the Social Science Tower and Social Science Lab somewhere else on campus. Although, they had recently filmed a scene for an upcoming Netflix movie called "Unfrosted" by Jerry Seinfeld about two weeks ago at the Aldrich Hall building shown in the video!
8:41 Sweet potato balls are made of " dìguā " = " fānshǔ " (Sweet potato). They are similar to potato but sweeter. At the family mart in Taiwan, you may see that machines with many small stones are used to heat dìguā. (There are street vendors grilling on the stove, it tastes better.) If you eat too much, it is easy to fart. 8:34 The other one in the bowl is taro balls, made with " yùtou " (taro).
Hey Ryan, and Darin, just got my stickers, and now have them on my bike, and SUV. What made the delivery so great was the hand written thank you card. That was awesome. I’m originally from Cal, through Torrance, and Hermosa Beach, and now reside in the Boston and I’m letting everyone out here about your channel. Thanks again. Follower for life!!!
New sub here and self confessed cycling addict.. I’ve been off the bike for 4 weeks now with some major knee problems so I’m just binge watching as many cycling videos as possible. Lol. I’m glad I found your channel👍. 🚴♀️💨
Just discovered and love your New Zealand tour videos we ride a recumbent tandem here in New Zealand must admit I preferred the music on your New Zealand videos cheers
Thanks for another great video! Ryan, which waist pack are you wearing in this video? Also, during your cycling tour did either one of you have any injuries? If so, how did you manage through them? I just came back from a short, 5 day cycling tour, where I didn't account for the amount of climbing each day and overstressed my IT band. Painful, but as my tour was short I can now take care of this at home. Did you experience any injuries, and if so, how did you approach them?
Libraraga Glad you enjoyed it! The hip pack I got for around $20 at a sporting goods store Big5 I think. Pretty comfortable and a fair amount of pockets! The brand is “Outdoor Products”. Darin started the trip still recovering from knee surgery and I had a few knee issues crop up on tour. Massage (don’t overlook this! doing deep tissue massage on tendons and muscles really helped) and taking a rest day or two always helped too. Tried to avoid painkillers for the most part. Besides that we fared pretty well!
Irvine trails are pretty cool although the downside is that we’re still near cars everywhere, which means there’s no real “getaway” vibing in the city.
The Newbaum's bar tape on Ryan's bike started out vivid purple & orange in NZ and now shows months of well-earned use (and that's exactly what some riders like). It can be waterproofed and retain the original color (somewhat darker) by applying clear shellac after installing it, but that does detract from the comfort value. YMMV
This sent me down the awesome rabbit hole of cloth tape application lol. I definitely need to try using the shellac and twine next time thank you! It's sooo grungy right now
I've never been asked that before! Hmm...maybe just a california accent? I've also lived in a lot of places so I may have a mongrel speech pattern/pronunciation. (Or i just need to enunciated more)
I don't know how elitists even ride with their head stuck so far up their bumbadida bumbedida . Hahahahaha sorry about that 😂 I've been subbed since you guys were on you trip but never commented. I don't know why, I love the comments. Great local ride and snacks. I love snaks. Lol ATB, Tony

@@radbikeadventure You're welcome! The Newbaums tape/twine jobs online can be intimidatingly detailed; mine are Good Enough ;-)

Very! haha
3:07 Never poo poo a hybrid bike or a electric bike as long as we ride! but that most of us know.
Dennis Hansson Yes!! It’s so silly when people get elitist. no matter what the bike, if you’re riding it, I’m stoked!
@@radbikeadventure even if i ride my motorized bike on there? People give me dirty looks :( so do cops >;-)
@@Shyzah one opinion is like... why can you just ride a Regular bike
@@Shyzah I know people who have been wrongfully cited by the police for riding electric bikes and have had to go to court to fight the conviction.
Sweet video!
Question: is the way you speak considered a lisp?
The way you touch your teeth to your bottom lip during S’s
Thx

The lady in the blue hat looks a lot like Darin , except Darin wears reddish shorts ...
🤣I think they may have been retired
Nice enough, but it's not Tasmania.
Not even close.
