I was an apprentice attending local college on day-release and we had a period of "modern studies" first thing. Antway I arrived 10 minutes late as I normally did only to be met by this number being played. The lecturer was at least late 40's and i was 17 this was in the late 60's early 70's. We listened to it and then had a discussion on what you took from the different rifts and phases of the track. It was several years later that I saw the same on film about surfing.
Pink Floyd = The Best Echoes I ever Heard Besides Watching them off Pompeii my cousin Matt has that DVD " I have Pulse Double DVD " good job people who posted this!!! I Love this song I Enjoyed …
I grew up listen in 2 Floyd threw my older brother & sister. Sister gave me & a friend tickets in front of the SBD, maybe 30 rows back...& that show @Death Valley in Clemson changed my life. '94 Division Bell tour. &on another side note, My 1st show EVER was 1989 Steel Wheels tour the R.Stones put on..another life changer.. I started playing guitar & broadening my tastes ..& got hooked on the DEAD starting in 91. WELL, I guess those shows paved my musical future. OOHHH YEAH, My reason for writing...at about 7min. into Echoes, That's when that groove starts...1 of my favorite jams ever. I LOOPed it before the guitar solo starts...just a GREAT idea 4 any musician out there! Check it out!!! B goof. Charlie J.
Thank you for your effort at getting a full version of this song on the tube. There are not many out there and you really have to look hard. Too bad the old turntables can't quite hook up to new equipment, but I still get the vibe. I love this song and you are SO LUCKY TO HAVE THE VINYL! Thank you! Tiffany
My guess is this has been deliberately pitched so not to be pulled for copyright reasons. The pitch is a little high as shown by the strobe light. It is not a static line of dots so the pitch has been changed on this turntable.
Why can't people that upload from vinyl learn how the pitch control works? Do the uploader, or any of the commenters here have a clue what that bright orange light is and all of the squares that are cut into the side of the platter are for? See the knob labelled "pitch adjust" and the 4 corresponding squares are to the right and the 50 Hz and 60 Hz lables??? Assuming you live in the US where power is 60 Hz you're supposed to adjust the pitch control until the set of squares on the platter (that correspond to the graphic for 60 Hz ) are stationary ie. motionless. Looking at the side of your platter (that thing your record sits on) NONE of them are motionless! Obviously your speed is set wrong, and from the looks of the bottom row, it's off a LOT. You want to adjust your pitch till the bottom row are motionless. Since the bottom row is 60 Hz and 33 RPM. The next one up is for 45 RPM. The top 2 are if your power frequency is 50 Hz. Oh and google and get a disc washer to clean your records to minimize clicks and pops if you don't already. Thanks for the high quality upload and cool that you dig he Floyd, just get the speed right :-)
Since this upload is not 100% perfect in every aspect, I feel compelled to nitpick it to death. Oh wait. Several enemabag nozzles beat me to it. Seriously,I do like it very much.
It's direct drive, there's no actual belt in that particular version. Don't know why it sounds slow... maybe the guy did it thru the computer to "avoid copyright" or something, which doesn't even work either way.
It's the original studio version, not the live 'Ponpeii' one. It sounds like I remember it. If it's a tiny bit flat, I can't tell... but I'm just a drummer. I probably wore out a couple copies of this record.
with a pitch different to 0% sounds out of tune and it's more noticeable the off of center pressing causing tones changes in each turn, specially near end of the side

My uncle is letting me borrow his copy of meddle until I get my own copy:)
Wow! its sounds it sounds really amazing!
Masterpiece never gets old.
...that sound @22:44 sends me to another universe...:)
You can hear the idea that became "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" taking form here.
what's this got to do with Syd Barrett ok he probably soared with drugs but not to this.
Vinyl, emotions in motion!

Loving it
i love it
Whenever you listen to
Pink Floyd, wear headphones.
I absolutely admire David Gilmour for basically playing the same riff for like 40 years...
GOOD MUSIC .
This gave me chills
That's a Technics turntable
playing the record.
sounds really good, thats for sure. much better than the CD mixing...
Is this the quad version. That was the best.
Seems a touch on the slow side 🐌
isn't it hilarious how early technology seems magical?
etereo!!!
Sound quality is pretty dodgie, and the pitch needs to slow down a bit.
Other then that what else can I say, its Pink Floyd :)

What cartridge are you using? It sounds great!
+thomas jameson jr Duhhhh, enjoy your willful ignorance.
I own this LP and listened to it extensively in high school and it sounds pretty dead on! Or am I tone deaf?
Running time should be 23:31, this clocks in at 25:13 - an extra 1:42. So Side B is definitely playing too slow by about 7%, enough to be noticeable.
The album Meddle doesn't
get much airtime.
MY RINGTONE
This turntable sounds a little slow.
probably to avoid copyright

I have no problem here.
what year came out or recording this nice album, ??? anybody know???
1971 :)
Since this upload is not 100% perfect in every aspect, I feel compelled to nitpick it to death. Oh wait. Several enemabag nozzles beat me to it. Seriously,I do like it very much.
Hmm, pitch seems a tad to low. Think the turntable is spinning to slow
You recorded picture and sound with your phone? AAAND its way tooo slow!
it always sounds different with vinyl record
it sounds as it should
Running time should be 23:31, this clocks in at 25:13 - an extra 1:42. So Side B is definitely playing too slow by about 7%, enough to be noticeable.
I think your belt might be stretched a bit.
It's direct drive, there's no actual belt in that particular version. Don't know why it sounds slow... maybe the guy did it thru the computer to "avoid copyright" or something, which doesn't even work either way.
Let your imagination
run wild.
Sir, I have a direct driven
turntable Audio Technica.
Before On The Dark Side
Of The Moon.
check your turntable, the song is slower and lower then original
Is this original version? It's too slow.
It's the original studio version, not the live 'Ponpeii' one.
It sounds like I remember it. If it's a tiny bit flat, I can't tell... but I'm just a drummer.
I probably wore out a couple copies of this record.
i think the pitch or the belt is to slow
Yeah, the turntable is messed up or something. Aren't those direct drive though? I heard those don't have speed problems but apperently this one does
thenintendogamer my beers a lil flat too... meh
+zyrgle my uncle is letting me borrow his copy of meddle until I get my own copy:)
Seems a bit slow but still great!
0:17 (432Hz)
You can hear it fm Mars even if you're deaf that the speed IS TOO SLOW!!
It is too slow. The running time should be 23:31.
wHY SO SLOW?
Yes, exactly it sounds a little slow. It's a very nice theme.
it's slow because that' the way it was recorded.
Running time should be 23:31, this clocks in at 25:13 - an extra 1:42. So Side B is definitely playing too slow by about 7%, enough to be noticeable.
The tone of your audio is WAY off, this isn't at all how Echoes is supposed to sound!
ipbvy= kog bau
Sounds like an old tape recording or FM radio, rather than vinyl. Poor work, sorry. Go somewhere else
re saturado man

432 Hz ? Lol
