Even in the slow motion replay after the performance, i've seen anna's flat edge lutz. but then they gave her positive GOE as a no problem lutz...RIP ISU

Alyona has been working on her technique and it shows, her Lutz the last couple of seasons was clearly a flutz but now it has more of an outside edge. Her 3F+3T combination looks more stable each time and that triple toe seems to be getting higher each time!

You missed Scherbakova taking off on full blade on flip and lutz as well as turning 1 turn before leaving the ice on her loop combination. By the way, coaster and I I did not cheat that triple toe loop at the end of that combination. You got to be kidding.... Just watch it in regular motion......
That jump combination by Trusova should have gotten a higher GOE in my opinion l, it was so perfect and clean, on time with the music and she had variations with her arms for both the triple lutz and triple toe combination

Sasha and Aliona jump from the outer thread without problems , but anna's lutz is flat. This isn't a criticism, I like anna's skating, but It's not fair that this feature is also not considered
Alenas 3T was not UR. I think you're looking at it wrong, if you look at it one way its UR, but then you notice her ankle would have to be at a weird angle for that view to be right, so focus on her skate, and it will show its well past 3/4 around. Annas full blade is full on, and her flip edge is more outside then her lutz edge.
Anna's technique is horrible... She will struggle with the new rules Sasha got better over the years and her quads are way better then Anna's Alena also got really clean technique!
yeah, kostornaia has such a "good" technique her falls don't even get < when it's visible from space (true call would be downgrade) and her underrotated axels never get called either. fake isu "champion".

@Sofya Fursova compared to the text book examples by the isu Alena has the best technique, it's not an opinion it's just a fact, totally objective, personally it's great what they doing and what they achieve but it's important to really look at what they are doing technically, so that they can be judge fairly :)
I didn't know figure skating well back then, and I had stopped watching the women's side because of the Sotnikova/Kim scandal in Sochi. When I first saw Aliona, she drew me in, and there was something different about her jumps compared to the other Russians. Now I know that she has better technique than Sasha and Anna, which is rare because most Russians I've seen have flutzes (though she goes between narrow outside edges and flutzes sometimes, she only uses her toe pick in her toe assisted jumps compared to her teammates' full blades which makes her jumps more sharp and clean). It's so unfortunate what happened to her in Eteri, I wish her the best with her new coach, really hope that this isn't the last we're gonna see from her
Thanks to the fact that Sasha left Tutberidze to Plushenko, her jumping technique has improved. Plushenko said in an interview that Sasha's jumps were not very good in technique, to put it mildly, it is not clear what Eteri teaches them and why they get high scores.

Sasha's jumps are better than Anna's with a better outside edge lutz and has somewhat of a toe pick takeoff compared to Anna's full blade, however the massive prerotations are still there. Zhenya's technique was probably one of the worst I've seen even among the Eteri girls, yet the ISU judging lets her get away with it, hence she won her World titles (no hate to her, I love her as a person and her artistry is exceptional). Shoma Uno also prerotates his jumps so much. The judging has to get more consistent and call out wrong edges & cheated takeoffs, not just the Russians, but everyone else too

I'm gonna miss her in singles, and I'm still sad that covid took away her chance to become a world champion, but I'm excited to see what she can do in pairs. who knows, maybe we'll see a side by side triple lutz/flip or a throw triple axel

I am a common spectator and enjoy beauty whereas judges look for flaws and calculate scores. Aliona and Anna show beautiful skating while Trusova is a bit more like sporting. I like all of them whatsoever because they are so young, beautiful, and brave ladies successfully practicing a very difficult sport.

Anna is a beautiful figure skater and very plastic, with emotions and all, but her technique is awful. Edges, blades, prerotations, it’s always painful to watch
Alena uses ONLY her toe pick for her toe assisted jumps and I really appreciate and respect that clean technique 😍
