This game EXTREMELY reminds me of a game I used to play as a kid. It was called RC cars and the features, even the models and graphics seem very similar. EDIT: Found the original CD and it turns out, that the game is actually, made by the same company... but It's definitely not the same title. I don't know why they felt the need to change the interface... and some of the gameplay components... but I did enjoy the game at it's time and I might install it again actually... EDIT 2: OK so apparently the original game was called RC Cars and it was released for PC and PS2. Later the game was updated, and was planned to be released on PS 3, but didn't make it. Eventually it got released on PC and somehow ended up on Steam under another company... I think.
Never mind ReVolt, who remembers / played RC Revenge Pro? What a game! Power-ups, mental levels, variety of cars, transmogrifiers that switch from car to boat... I miss my childhood :(
Btw, you say that it's kinda weird that you can flip the car in mid air... I'm not sure if you know TB, but it is actually possible to do that in real life too with RC cars. End over end is done by hitting the gas and braking. And by steering I think you can even do barrel rolls(not sure on that). Somehow the speed/movement of the tires can actually flip these little cars really quickly in mid flight, you can see people turning them to land on 4 wheels in many RC videos :)
Does anyone remember Ignition? Maybe it was a derivative title, but it was the first racing game in this style that I ever played, and I really enjoyed it. These arcade racers always makes me think of that game.
There is also a PC version of this game which does have ALOT of smashing. Its a really old game though, its called RC Cars. You could basically smash every car as hard as you want in the PC version. You might wanna look it up.
Coming from a semi-pro R/C Racer and avid gamer this seems like a fun novelty game, but nothing to play for more than a few hours. Ill have to show this video to the other people at my track next time I go.
Revolt was also on N64, it was stupidly awesome back in the day. It was like Mario Kart, but it was difficult enough that the little kids didn't want to play it (important in a family of 7 kids and 3 controllers)
this reminds me of the PS2 game Rumble Racers. it was a pretty awesome game & could be challenging at times. there was a vast amount of cars to unlock in various ways (2 ways, actually, i think... unless your count codes) and there was a fair bit of tracks. then there was the 2 player mode. no online, though, obviously.
5 seconds into the race part i knew... this is basically Stunt GP "remastered" an old rc racing car game where u do stunts to earn boosts and have to unlock practically EVERYTHING
THANK YOU for saying it's hard to do net-code! It is not easy, I had a really hard time for assignment, to connect two Hangman clients I made my self. And it's still a hard thing to do alone!
When i started this video i was like wtf is that .... after a few seconds it was like - omg it's RC cars! An old game (2003) also developed by Creat Studios. But judging by Your video i wouldn't give this game a shot. It's basically the same title with few more cars, slow down and possibly more tracks. But the car seems to handle the same. First track was same as "the beach" from original. And it had working multiplayer! Let's just hope that other remakes will not be bad as this one.
This is actually a port of a PS2 game from back in the day!!! Loved it back then, 4player splitscreen. This is also out on PS3 store and is great fun, still has splitscreen, still don't think it's online tho but great fun!
I played this on PS2 for ages and I really enjoyed it. There's some pretty fun courses and game modes like stunt and dark horse (you have to take out others cars to make a certain one win). I guess it's not really up to today's standards but I had a lot of fun with it 6-8 years ago.
I would really love if TB could do a WTF Is...Dynasty Warriors. Because he, and many of us loves multiplayer. That game does not have multiplayer options but has a truly amazing story and is a big series. He should really take his tiime and check that game out. ;)
@TotalHalibut Throughout the whole thing, you were saying you dont see what boost's you and that smashing does nothing.but look at the bottom left hand corner.....smashing into things regains you N20,which is used to boost, whitch you can get by hitting cars
I think various aspects of this game make it difficult to create a multi player for, particularly the slow time thing when you do tricks. I'm not sure how the logistics would work when there is more than one player in the race.
as an RC driver this would be great fun to play with when I can't take my own car out. But for £12 it's a bit much, fingers crossed steam sticks it on sale.
i cant remember the name, but there was a nintendo 64 game (probaly re-volt? i dont know) which had remote controlled cars, it was also very hard and unbelievably fun and i havent played a game as good since. had weapons and map builder. anyone know what it was called?
It almost looks as if they planned Multiplayer as the icons on the main menu suggest. Single player has 1 person, Options has 2 people, and Credits has a spanner, which would suggest Options. Maybe they removed it for some reason. Also i like they way Exit has a smily face!!
I'm getting extreme vibes of nostalgia from this game. I believe this game is just a remake of an old title called simply "RC cars", The developer, as far as I remember, is also Russian. And I also remember it being much more fun than this.
Oh man, Revolt was *awesome*, though I played it on the PC. I pretty much always cheat-coded all of the cars and played through as the UFO. Aaaaah... Good times.
This game was for PS3 (Canceled), but it was ported for PC and the multiplayer for the PS3 version cannot be ported to the PC version. You can check this on Steam forums (A dev that work for this company tell this on the forums and also created support for X360 joysticks and other stuff).
This is a console port from PS3. I played the demo, kinda of fun. Just miss the powerups and weapons and explosions! Yes, I am an old REVOLT player. :D
@KrystianAustinTyler when its at sea its the union jack, so if tb did a vid while on a holiday cruise or something it would be a different intro, technically
this seems EXTREMELY SIMILAR to a game i played as a kid called Stunt GP by Team 17 maybe this is based of it but it feels and looks extremely similar to it even the menus are alike

RIP. Its 2022 and your still missed'
Revolt was such a unique game. I still love to remember it. So much fun, the fireworks, the oil spill, the battery power up :) The time bomb :D
Oh god, I remember ReVolt. I loved that game SO much.
I just watched his WTF Is... of that. Are you stalking me?
Re-Volt is one of the top 25 non-kart racers of all time, IMO.
i remember watching videos of this game in 2008 on ps3 ???
unfortunatelly, Revolt is dead, but it was good game... Sooo yea... R.I.P
Never mind ReVolt, who remembers / played RC Revenge Pro?
What a game! Power-ups, mental levels, variety of cars, transmogrifiers that switch from car to boat... I miss my childhood :(
Crash Team Racing was a large part of my childhood and one of the best racing games i have played to date.
@jimimick93 'WTF Is...' is a first impressions series and will be treated as such.
Btw, you say that it's kinda weird that you can flip the car in mid air... I'm not sure if you know TB, but it is actually possible to do that in real life too with RC cars. @TotalHalibut the console controls are for a PS2 controller. it was originally for the PS2.
Insomnia is such a brilliant thing, I have total biscuit to watch at 2 in the morning!
There is also a PC version of this game which does have ALOT of smashing. Its a really old game though, its called RC Cars. You could basically smash every car as hard as you want in the PC version. You might wanna look it up.
Wow, the aesthetics and maps look really nice!
Coming from a semi-pro R/C Racer and avid gamer this seems like a fun novelty game, but nothing to play for more than a few hours. Ill have to show this video to the other people at my track next time I go.
Jumping through 4 or 5 places in the video for about 10 seconds total, looks a lot like Excite Truck.
This pleases me.
"Ok timetrials, the most uninteresting of trials.... Lets strike the watermelon with great vengeance" i laughed so hard i could barely breathe
When you were saying "game on the dreamcast" For some reason I was thinking of StuntGP, another RC car racing game.
@MrBFCseasider i hate to say it but... I agree :P
Revolt was the very first racing game I've played in my life ... I played it when it was only a demo so yeah - I kinda feel old now ...
Revolt was also on N64, it was stupidly awesome back in the day. It was like Mario Kart, but it was difficult enough that the little kids didn't want to play it (important in a family of 7 kids and 3 controllers)

OMG Smash Cars! I played this with my friend on my PS2 way back in the day! I loved this game to death back then!
5 seconds into the race part i knew... this is basically Stunt GP "remastered" an old rc racing car game where u do stunts to earn boosts and have to unlock practically EVERYTHING
I remember playing a game like this in Disney World. It WAS multiplayer because all of the machines were connected together.
Hmm, I noticed that the options button has a multiplayer icon on it and the credits button has an options icon on it.
@Denizkcan It doesn't suck in as much as it lacks that certain spark, and doesn't seem to have gained much even though its a remake.
Damn. Now I want to play ReVolt again. It's the game that got me into gaming, and, let's face it, it's downright awesome.
I'm a big RC guy and I can assure you the handling is authentic. Speed is a bit too crazy but the handling is goood.
Well, because of the squaring of the cube, the fact that they are small cars requires them to have relatively big tires.
@sollacc Wouldn't that be a question better suited to an organized forum?
THANK YOU for saying it's hard to do net-code! It is not easy, I had a really hard time for assignment, to connect two Hangman clients I made my self. And it's still a hard thing to do alone!
Wow this game made me think of the Twisted Metal game where you were RC cars, now THAT game was awesome.
I love how it says "Single Player" and not just "Play" even though there's no MP...
@theDRomansway Technically, its a Canadian product, but the HQ is in Seattle, WA.
When i started this video i was like wtf is that .... after a few seconds it was like - omg it's RC cars! An old game (2003) also developed by Creat Studios. Haha. I was thinking of Revolt the entire time. Such a great game and I think I still have the disc.
@darkshaver1 Well done! you've managed to pull yourself as the most adored person on the internet :D
Revolt was glorious, it even had a level editor!
@darkshaver1 It is his intro. Live with it. I like it and I'm sure a lot of other people do too.
This is actually a port of a PS2 game from back in the day!!! Loved it back then, 4player splitscreen.
This is also out on PS3 store and is great fun, still has splitscreen, still don't think it's online tho but great fun!

Revolt was one of the very, very few driving games that i enjoyed alot... damn. Wonder if i could find it from my dravers somewhere...
I like the "winning conditions" : Finish first! Well, that's simple!
Ah, Re-Volt, my first racing vid game. I loved it. I miss it.
@ZeldaPlays o-o When did Re-Volt get the Warzone 2100 treatment?
@MrZiimong No the racing cars and stuff, it was top down. and the toys had army things too.
I would really love if TB could do a WTF Is...Dynasty Warriors. Because he, and many of us loves multiplayer. That game does not have multiplayer options but has a truly amazing story and is a big series. He should really take his tiime and check that game out. ;)
@Mustard170 It was "3D Ultra Radio Control Racers" :)
It's a shame this game doesn't have that much content, because it does look really fun.
@TotalHalibut
Throughout the whole thing, you were saying you dont see what boost's you and that smashing does nothing.but look at the bottom left hand corner.....smashing into things regains you N20,which is used to boost, whitch you can get by hitting cars
@jimimick93 Its a remake of a 2003 game by the name of RC Cars, and was released in 2009.
@Nysosis Micro Maniacs was strangely original and addictive too. It was a spin off as I remember.
Why there is a smiley at the QUIT button?
@Peakevolution9 revolt is dreamcast(is it nintento 64 too?)
I think various aspects of this game make it difficult to create a multi player for, particularly the slow time thing when you do tricks. I'm not sure how the logistics would work when there is more than one player in the race.
@CameronWasmund I think the company might be Canadian though, could be wrong though.
What is that tune thats always at the end of these videos from?
as an RC driver this would be great fun to play with when I can't take my own car out. But for £12 it's a bit much, fingers crossed steam sticks it on sale.
Vehicles on this game should have a skeletal structure. Therefore hitting cars could possibly break wheels but the same could happen to you.
Oh my god. Instant nostalgia the moment TB said Re-Volt.
i cant remember the name, but there was a nintendo 64 game (probaly re-volt? i dont know) which had remote controlled cars, it was also very hard and unbelievably fun and i havent played a game as good since. had weapons and map builder. anyone know what it was called?
please do a vintage game series. Including Revolt! :D
but how will they do the slo mo trick part
@7homiestudios It was 3D Ultra Radio Control Racers :)
@MrPrototypz Subtlety is an art never found on RUclips
Is there any way to change the resolution without launching the game? I would have played it if not for the SIGNAL OUT OF RANGE error.
It almost looks as if they planned Multiplayer as the icons on the main menu suggest. Single player has 1 person, Options has 2 people, and Credits has a spanner, which would suggest Options. Maybe they removed it for some reason. Also i like they way Exit has a smily face!!
TB has paintable parts! That must be a key feature that he advertises to the ladies
I'm getting extreme vibes of nostalgia from this game. I believe this game is just a remake of an old title called simply "RC cars", The developer, as far as I remember, is also Russian. And I also remember it being much more fun than this.
@MartianBuddy88 Well done for mentioning that game. Hard as nails indeed.
ALRIGHT, YOU'RE WAY OUT IN FRONT
I think this game is the second part of a game i played 5 years ago called RC Cars
this game has in total a bit under 2 costumers , more like 1 , named Total Biscuit
@ValentineZwei because they have multiplayer on the console it would make since to have it on pc
added to favorites.
just because of him mentioning ReVolt.
why dont you use motioninjoy you can use any controller such as a ps3. and change it to an xb360. or just reformat your controller entirely.
rc version of excite truck? (the only near equivalent that i have actually played)
@Fawcan Is it potentally Re-Volt?
Re-Volt and Garbage playing on Winamp... ah... the memories!!!
Oh man, Revolt was *awesome*, though I played it on the PC. I pretty much always cheat-coded all of the cars and played through as the UFO. Aaaaah... Good times.
@CaptainHalodude Micro Machines V3 was fantastic. Might have to get it out, though I doubt it looks good on a big(ish) screen
@zero1343 it is. they remade it for pc & ps3
@imantonater How does free sound? If you go ahead and search Revolt 1.2 Update, I'm sure you'll be able to spread the word.
This game was for PS3 (Canceled), but it was ported for PC and the multiplayer for the PS3 version cannot be ported to the PC version. You can check this on Steam forums (A dev that work for this company tell this on the forums and also created support for X360 joysticks and other stuff).
It looks really fun. Gonna try this one...it looks like my kind of game.
This is a console port from PS3. I played the demo, kinda of fun. Just miss the powerups and weapons and explosions! Yes, I am an old REVOLT player. :D
I seriously thought I was the only one who liked ReVolt!
Are the wheels moving at all?
Had RC Revolt and Hotwheels Turbo Racing for N64... Ah good times. Might go dig it out of my folks place.
Much love from Amurrica!
@Abborsnopp Yup, he just said that. Why did you have to repeat it? -.-
I just remembered re-volt. Amazing game!
2.40 what band is he refering to ?
Anyone know where i can watch the John Connor trailer again?? please o.o
@flofDan I know what you mean, but I can't read that word without thinking of the species of wheat known as Spelt.
