Finally found a live version of saints; their best song and in contention for one of the top 90's tracks, and there's zero visual footage of them playing it back in the day I'm aware of
hey man! came across this today while designing a poster for a show. kim deal is, hands-down, my favorite female musician, if not songwriter overall. but man, she can be sloppy as hell live. in much of life stuff, her voice is either off key, she's smoked too much, she hits the wrong chord live or just futzes off. furthermore, with most bootlegs in general, it's really hard to find a decent balance in terms of the mix. the drums might be too quiet, the bass is too loud, etc. finally, this is also a unicorn because it is just after "last splash" came out, meaning that version of the line-up (the current one) is playing songs off of the first album, "pod". they play them about 30 percent faster and mean as hell. this is the holy grail of breeders live recordings. I've listened to it three times today. then again, I've been waiting for this for twenty plus years. thanks for posting.
Agree about their live performances. They are 50/50. Lollapalooza in 94 in Philly was not good, downright bad even. But this recording is pretty awesome.
Couldn't agree more, I bought this cd on a whim back in 93. Been all about it ever since and have yet to find a better live show recording from the breeders. The version of Glorious is well, glorious. And 2 killer versions of Iris. Glad to see you found and appreciate double trouble
