- tr.ee/T7sSZnpw9z Thank you for watching our ear wax removal video today. The ear wax extraction featured in todays video was carried out using endoscopic microsuction. This procedure uses a small camera called an endoscope to visualise inside the ear canal whilst a small suction tube is inserted to gently remove ear wax.
We can also use other tools to remove hard ear wax, foreign bodies, peeling dead skin or for ear infection removal.
All the ear wax cleaning videos you see on our channel are carried out by our ear wax specialists Mr Rhys Barber and Mr Taylor Green.
We post new ear cleaning videos Monday - Friday at 9PM GMT so if you find ear wax removal satisfying please consider subscribing to our channel.
Ear wax plays a vital role in ear health. It helps to prevent ear infection and helps with ear cleaning by picking up any dirt or debris that accumulates in the ear canal. Normally this ear wax would fall out of the ear taking any dirt or debris with it.
How to remove ear wax?
Many people use q-tips/cotton buds for ear wax removal at home this is one of the worst things you can put into the ear as this can lead to an increased ear wax buildup or in extreme cases impacted ear wax. The best way to remove ear wax is to let your ears clean themselves and not to put anything smaller than your elbow in your ears!
How do I know if I have an earwax blockage?
If you experience a change in your hearing, discomfort in the ear or jaw or a feeling of fullness in the ear canal you may have an ear wax blockage. Our advice is to speak to your Doctor or local Audiologist who can take a look in your ears and assess whether ear cleaning is needed.

I love when you two get together. You create a synergy that’s infectious. Taylor, you are certainly showing off your skills lately. This was an awesome video!
What a treat to see the before and after, Taylor. Don’t second guess the suction vs. forceps at the last bit. It came away beautifully.
Good job!
Oh my goodness, awesome and sitting on the edge of my seat video!!! Fabulous perseverance, Taylor! Love when you and Rhys are together! Have an awesome weekend! ❤😊
I always wondered what an infection looked like. I had lots of ear infections in past years. Thanks for satisfying my curiosity.
Great video. I love it when the two of you are able to get together for the videos. I always come away, if not laughing, at least smiling. Way to stick with it Taylor. Bet the patient is feeling so much better.
Oh man that poor patient had to be so so miserable it was making my ears itchy just watching. But there's something so satisfying knowing you truly did help them to recover. Of course we can't forget that awesome follow up we don't get to see those all that much! I hope you have a great night
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable.
My compliments to you Taylor for all your excellent care on this person’s ears. They had a bad infection and with your two visits you got on top of it.
Super work there. The ears look much much better. My compliments sir.
Rhys appreciate your oversight also. You have a good feel for what needs to be done. Go see your GP and then come back to us. Very well done BOTH of you.
Thanks.
Iowa here in the states.
You two are amazing! I am so impressed by your standard of caring and genuine concern for the comfort of your patients. So many Healthcare workers (doctors, audiologists, nurses, etc.) could really benefits from being trained by you. Even watching your videos and applying your methods for excellent patient care quality would be so beneficial.
Thank you for showing us the follow up. Please wish Mrs. B a Happy Mothers Day for me. And happy mothers day to all the mom's and single dads out there.
I'm a physician in the US. If an audiologist contacted me and told me a patient had AOE, I would just send the prescription -- I wouldn't make the patient come in. Is there a difference in medicolegal practice in the UK that docs make the patient be seen? (I would probably make the patient come in if it was AOM, just because that's systemic antibiotics)
It depends on the gp surgery and their system. My gp surgery has an online request called askmygp. I can type my request, attach a photo of the audiologist letter and send it. Then an admin triages it and either a pharmacist, nurse, paramedic (with additional prescribing qualifications) or a doctor look at it. Providing the audiologists credentials and license are valid then no need to be seen so usually they send a prescription request straight to the pharmacy and email you back. Two to three working days.
The problem occurs when patients are not confident in using the online system, or the GP practice doesn’t have enough of the right staff and correct systems.
There is also a huge shortage of healthcare professionals uk wide, especially in more rural areas.
What causes infection like this? You two are wonderful!
Love these videos! You and Taylor are always a vibe 🥰🥰
Wow! What a difference. Does the after infection treatment hard layer hurt?
Nope. The inflammation is what is so painful so once that goes away and stuff dries up a bit, it is not painful anymore.
As a nurse who has found a great mentor, I am so happy for Taylor. I love watching these videos.
Wonderful. I always wonder what the post treatment canal looks like. In episode 194 when the client came in for his follow up the video showed if he had come back in 6 months instead of waiting 18 months the keratosis opterans may have looked better. That's just my opinion
Fabulous video guys! Thanks so much for the before and after, great idea Taylor! You two work well together. Keep up the great work! Thanks so much to you and your patient for sharing.✌️❤️🇨🇦
I absolutely love this video and the fact that it had the first visit and the follow up visit in one video was splendid!
Rhys did a 3 part video that showed an infected ear over 3 visits. Amazing how things heal.
Thanks for showing both videos. It was interesting.
Guys, this was fabulous. Rhys, a few years ago you showed a before, during and after infection. That was also great. Please consider doing more like this. Thanks
Brilliant to have the two visits. Really interesting to see
I love when you two are together .

Have a nice weekend.
It was great to see the before and after, thank you.
Thank you for putting a video out on a Bank Holiday. My cat had to go to the vet for what turned out to be 11 wounds on his tummy from fighting. He is much better now, but the stress relief and comfort were much appreciated
What a difference! So glad it ended well! Great job!👏🏻💜
Hi again Mr B And Taylor G.🙋🏽 awesome Job Guy's 👍🏽😃. THAT was a awesome skin peel.‼️
I love when you guys do videos together. It was a very interesting video. Thank you for sharing.
What a difference. Appreciate that this was a before and after. I'm sure others want to know that the patient is doing better. Thanks.
That was awesome! I enjoyed seeing what the ear canal looked like after the antibiotic treatment.
Great work Mr. Taylor Greene.💪
Taylor, Mr B is your best cheerleader! What you have to remember is we watch you in awe. Personally, I would have the poor patient running for the door! Happy Weekend to you both & your sweet families!💜💛💜💛💜
I go to Urgent Care as trying to get a GP appointment is like trying to find gold dust.
Hi Rhys and Taylor it's everybody
I really like these videos of before and after

Never a disappointment! Love that video. Taylor you have come so for! Y'all make a fantastic team! I hope Mrs. B has a good Mother's Day. Taylor I hope your wife has a good Mother's Day.
I love these videos of cleaning up infection.😮
Normally I like dry wax extractions, so this was Great, Lovely Peels!
Oooohh, that were Reet Looooverley! Fantastic Peel Work Taylor, it was worth the small wait! Thanks Guys, Have a Fab wknd!
This was a great video! Love this format, love y'all together.
Poor patient. That ear canal looks so painful. Glad you were there to help
Always good to see follow-up visits and how good medication works.
Thanks for the before and after videos. Always good to see how the ear has cleared with antibiotics drops.
Yes, it was Fantastic, a Rapid Healing, Never seen Such an Improvement, in such a short time. I think the drops drying it out, probably prevented any wet infection from getting through to the ear canals, Brilliant!
Need more videos like this when it comes to the infection videos.
Nice to see both of you again. Taylor, is that your new camera? The picture quality is so much clearer, and the color quality is so much better. I bet the patient feels so much better. Great job gentlemen. 😊
Taylor excellent surgical skills. Thank you for the first appointment and 4 week follow up. Awesome to see a healthy eardrum after antibiotics.
Great job Taylor.
Loved the before and after! Thank you for putting that together.
I am so glad you were able to help this patient.😊
Question: did this patient come in because they had an infection or they came in because of hearing issues and you diagnosed them? What is typically the order of diagnosis/treatment?
Speaking from recent experience, ear infections like this are very painful so I'd bet it was the infection that brought them in. Reduced hearing is also a symptom of the infection though.
Great to see the before and after. Great work Taylor 👍 ❤️
I was transfixed on that! Didnt seem like nearly 20 mins! Great idea the before & after! Well done Taylor. I LOVED it! 😊
Thank you for doing pre and post treatment! Evaluate if it would be possible to let us hear the patient and machine I love those❤ be Well my friends. ❤the mid USA!
I have had to have a wick inserted twice and saying it is uncomfortable is an understatement. But it does work to get the antibiotics into the ear.
It is nice to see what my ear would have looked like. Now I know why it was so sore and itchy
Poor You Tammy, I can't imagine what You went through. I Hope Your ears are Healthy now.
Love you two bantering with each other. Extremely interesting before and after video. Great job Taylor. Xx
Great video by rys and taylor
As a chronic ear infection sufferer, i couldnt imagine having to wait to get relief. I could go right now and get treatment if i needed to. Ive had one of those wicks before because my ear canal was swollen so bad and it honestly hurt more than the ear infection.
I just got my first ear infection. I have like stabbing pain in my ear constant ringing . Especially after a genuine yawn or hiccup. This is legitimately one of the worst pains I've felt in my life, a little bit less worse than getting my multiple impacted wisdom teeth removed and not taking the supplied percocets.. I never take pain medicine but I had to then, and I had to take some ibuprofen today. Does this generally get better after a day? Any remedies besides cold/warm compress and ibuprofen?
@@fifthtyp3 the only thing that worked were antibiotics.
@@mstuckey311 gotcha. Thanks for the response. Hopefully tomorrow it'll be better
Wow!! So satisfying clearing everything out watching your videos… Wouldn’t it be way more painful doing this with an infection for patient?? Is this painful at all normally??
Loved this so much! Always love the infection videos and seeing the before and after was fantastic and so interesting! Thanks for posting! ❤❤
So gently and cleverly done. The after was amazing.
Another great week of videos my lovelies
Have a great weekend everyone 🎉 xx
Tgank You, Have a Fab wknd too Jenna!
I love watching your videos, thank you for making and posting them!
My son is just over a year old and keeps getting ear infections and has possible glue ear. Any suggestions on how to reduce the risk of ear infections? We dont use cotton bud and he had regular baths/showers. Also could you please explain what glue ear is? I didnt really understand what the gp was saying!
Another great video. Very interesting to see the before and after. Great work Taylor. What are the main causes of infections in the ears?
You guys are so patient. I would've been in there with a curettage or some type of forceps because that just needs to hurry up and get out.
Thanks for showing the follow up.
Love the follow up in same video!!
Love the before and after case!!!
Posted 19 seconds ago! Wow don't think I've ever arrived this quickly 😂
Doesn’t removing the debris make more skin surface to put the antibiotics on?
This is great! I would be very interested in seeing more of these 'before and after' videos.
I had to have an ear wick once. Very strange sensation as the drops work. Got rid of the infection though. Very effective tool.
hello can you please tell me out long does the infection last when taking Antibiotic been taking 4 ear drops at lease 4 days already and im still seem having ear infection im not sure if its working, I went too ENT doctor btw
Brilliant follow-up removal Taylor❤
hindsight is always 20/20 as they say but at the time you can feel as well as see so don’t be hard on yourself Taylor! you did a great job with a difficult infection. i don’t envy you or the patient!
In UK do you have something like urgent care? In USA we have the emergency room/department like your A&E.. but urgent care is very mild form of emergency care. They see some broken bones but mostly cold, flu, and of course ear infections!
there are what they call "walk in" centres for less urgent but still important things
What a difference 4 weeks make. Very good job, have a great weekend ❤
Fantastic video. Such an amazing difference following the antibiotics 👏👏❤️
Thank you.
That must have been so painful 😮 love the work you both do have a great weekend
U guys r so enjoyable to watch! Love ur friendship and ur laughter
I was wondering, do you have a tool that has fine threads and brush like material that you could screw into the bulk of the dead skin and wax? Would that possibly work? Can you do a video just showing the various tools that you have in your inventory?
Wow ~ Well done gentlemen!! You are both gifted, talented professionals that truly care about doing gr8 work...and you both never disappoint 😊
Great video. I love the follow up video.
I freaking love these videos so much 😭 please never stop making them. You guys are legends!
Aww I hope people are not too critical! Love you guys❤
This was great! Thank you!
I love watching you both on a video 😅 I personally think yee would be an ideal partnership for Goggle box.. Brilliant 📺👏 thanks guys 👏😁💜✌️
Hi Rhys and Taylor. I was waiting for Taylor Swift tickets for hours, I put this video on to calm me down and immediately was let through to buy tickets!! You're a good luck charm. Keep up the good work.
Does the nhs do telehealth visits? That might help with the wait times. Although, maybe for an ear infection the doctor would have to diagnose it with an instrument. I can’t imagine waiting a month for an ear infection, that is super super painful!
Thank you for posting the before and after 😊
ooooooooo it looks sore 😢
Could you have done irrigation??
It’s a nightmare getting an appointment with the doctor, especially if a person is in so much pain, the thought of waiting 2 weeks to get seen is madness! If anyone is struggling with this you can see a nurse practitioner as they can prescribe antibiotics. Ear infections can be one of the most painful things ever! I’m still so very grateful for antibiotics, before it’s discovery ppl must have suffered unimaginable pain, so glad I’m alive in this century!
Thank you! That was fascinating! I love when you both are on screen together! 😂 You act like brothers, which is great fun for me!🤣 Much love from NC ❤️💖
Wouldn't irrigation work better in these cases?
I love the before and after. Please do more
Could you not use a suction tube that has a little turn at the end so you can put it flat against the side of the canal wall?
Great job!!
